    Great vid man. The XA does have the compensation switch too. The XA2 does not. Hope you manage to make it to the XA4. Inspiring as ever.

      @edpavez  Před 7 lety +14

      you are 100% correct! the XA does have have the compensation wheel. I just tried the XA for a few hours and hated the focusing patch so much that I didn't really pay a lot of attention to the rest of the features (like the aperture selection). my bad. I'll stick this comment so I stand corrected. thanks for pointing this out, man! :)

    Finally...some street photos made with taste..where u feel some motion, like somethings going on..story...etc.
    So many street photos i get to see (from youtubers mostly) feel more like a quality/sharpness tech test. Zero story. Barely any subjects.
    What im trying to say is..good job, man. U got a good feel and good eye. Keep sharing these.

    Hi Eduardo
    Nice video. If I am not mistaken the XA3 has DX code capabilities when using DX film. In this case changing the ASA switch will make no difference. I think at least one other viewer has pointed out that the XA also has a 1.5 stops compensation lever, so I won't mention that

    Differences between XA2 and XA3 are DX coding, backlight compensation, 1600 maximum ISO, and a redesigned light trap in the door.
    A neat thing with both models is the distance setting reverts to the middle when you close the camera, so grab shots have a better chance of being in focus. To manually set ISO on the XA3 you need to cover the DX panel on the film cassette, or DX will override your chosen film speed. All compact P&S cameras are a compromise, but the XA3 is the least compromised, most practical solutions for the greatest variety of likely uses.

    In my opinion it is not possible to change the ISO/ASA with any version after the original Olympus XA because all of them will read the DX code on the film itself and ignore the setting. Maybe you can manually set the ISO when you tape all DX code squares.
