    Nice video. Do you need to adjust the track tension at all when removing/reinstalling the rear skid ? Is there a deflection on snowmobile tracks like there is on the drive belts ? Is this how you would work on Arctic Cat, Ski-doo and Yamaha rear skids also ? Enjoying the great information your putting into your videos. Will help out greatly when im able to get back into sledding. Thanks !!

      We've modified the process a bit, if you lift the read end up really high it makes it even easier. No need to even loosen rear wheels so no need to adjust track tension (in general you do need to keep an eye on it for regular maintenance purposes). The process for removal should be the same for a Pro-cross sled (yamaha/Cat) but getting it back in is a little different because it's a slide action skid so you don't bolt the front skid arms they have to go onto a cross shaft.

    Thanks for the great vid! What is the purpose of the grey pipe insulation on the running boards?

    Have you ever ran the slp adjustable limiter strap? If so is it worth it?

      I personally haven’t, Jerome has an adjustable one, not sure of the brand of it tho ! He likes using it, I personally haven’t used them! Definitely something I will try out to see it’s benifits

    I’m adding studs to my new sled, did you torque them down? If so what did you torque them too?

    • @krazykanucksperformance2242
      @krazykanucksperformance2242 Před 3 lety +1

      I have never torqued a stud on any of my sleds, I always go till the head of the stud becomes flush with the track no more then that and have never had a problem. If you are doing tradition studs with nuts you can torque them in the range of 15-17 ft/lbs! You don’t want to damage your track !

    How many studs did you guy use and what length

    • @krazykanucksperformance2242
      @krazykanucksperformance2242 Před 3 lety

      In this application (1.352 Cobra 2 ply track), we used 96 1.500 Stud Boy Power Points with Stud Boy Pro Series Backers, a lot of people get carried away with a lot of studs ..... you have to remember more studs equals more weight, which in turn is more rotation mass which takes more torque and hp to turn that mass ! If your drag racing strictly then sure slam the studs to it but for high performance trail
      Riding I over stud ... the length and use less studs to achieve less weight yet still get top level traction ! Weight is the name of the game in most cases !

      @@chasf1066 yes lots of people run 3 per bar, I haven’t the past few season just 2 doubles per bar 1to2 sizes over on length and personally find a better bite and over all ride. These are just my personal findings with my riding style
