11 years later, if you're watching this, you're a legend.
And still love it.

We are all legends
I am Ukrainian from Kiev. On February 24, I woke up from my mother's words "We are leaving. The war began." While I was throwing things in a bag in my head was spinning Resistance. It's one of my fav muse songs and it's so topical now ✊🏻
💙💛
Love, force and resistance!!!✊🇺🇦
I'm so sorry for you all
Ukraine 🇺🇦💙💛🇺🇦
Alek, All the countries around the world are with you!!! 💙💛 Love is our resistance!!!!!
Happy Easter Ppl..
Loving Muse 2024.
❤
Hell yeah :) happy easter. Good music is timeless
Same. Happy Easter!😊
U are beautiful❤
"Love is our resistance. They'll keep us apart, and they won't stop breaking us down" How prophetic!
true , like the govs do now to their citizens in every country with the weapon of media…!
It was a dark time in his life
@@yvette76lb yeah
Now their latest message is "we are fucking fucked", talk about relevant 😒
@@yvette76lb its not about him its about the humanity… u r out of topic
George Orwell's "1984" anyone? "Love is our resistance." Fits like a glove.
1989?? Well I'm sure you suck at life
+lorenzo De Marchi Well that's embarrassing. *1984
I've edited my comment to prevent any other diligent internet police from making remarks about how well I do at life... :P
Thanks for the heads up.
+DianaBanana Ahem the diligent "thought" police!
the album Resistance lyrically based on 1984
+Pasta Bolognese For starters, the lyrics have the term "Thought Police".
Fuck. How is this album almost 12 years old already. I remember getting it on release day. Man...time really flies.
Time flies at a speed we can't even imagine, yesterday I was 7, now I'm 18... Damn how the good times are gone
@@guillaumegonon3187 you're telling me lol. Times were much simpler back then. I'm telling ya, 2003 was MY year, a simple year, no bullshit. A good year. But alas that's over 15 years ago and I'm sitting here like what the fuck...?
I feel you, man. I feel you. Hope the years since have treated you well. ♥️
@@KissMyFatAxe lol, same here... 2003 i was 15 years old... it was like yesterday litteraly... wtf xD
It does brover, especially when eating pizzas all day . . .
this opening hits hard even after 15 years
Always felt that this one was rly underrated in terms of the technicality. Dom's drumming is sharp and elaborate the whole way through, and the bass during the "We must run" part is imo one of the hardest sections to play in all of Muse's discography. Love that they've been pulling this one out for the WOTP tour as it's a great example of how technically talented these three are
Yep it.❤#_#^_**_^.
They played it in Plymouth last week. Amazing 🔥🔥🔥
Tres bonne musique...the best
Resistance is my all-time favorite Muse song and my favorite song in all of history ever. So glad to hear they've been playing it live again!
Yes, we were fortunate to get this at Muse in Kuala Lumpur 2023. Listen to the crowd!
Lyrics
Is our secret safe tonight
And are we out of sight
Or will our world come tumbling down?
Will they find our hiding place
Is this our last embrace
Or will the walls start caving in?
It could be wrong, could be wrong, but it should have been right
It could be wrong, could be wrong, to let our hearts ignite
It could be wrong, could be wrong, are we digging a hole?
It could be wrong, could be wrong, this is out of control
It could be wrong, could be wrong, it can never last
It could be wrong, could be wrong, must erase it fast
It could be wrong, could be wrong, but it could have been right
It could be wrong, could be...
Love is our resistance
They'll keep us apart and they won't stop breaking us down
Hold me
Our lips must always be sealed
If we live a life in fear
I'll wait a thousand years
Just to see you smile again
Quell your prayers for love and peace
You'll wake the thought police
We can't hide the truth inside
It could be wrong, could be wrong, but it should have been right
It could be wrong, could be wrong, to let our hearts ignite
It could be wrong, could be wrong, are we digging a hole?
It could be wrong, could be wrong, this is out of control
It could be wrong, could be wrong, it can never last
It could be wrong, could be wrong, must erase it fast
It could be wrong, could be wrong, but it could have been right
It could be wrong, could be...
Love is our resistance
They'll keep us apart and they won't stop breaking us down
Hold me
Our lips must always be sealed
The night has reached its end
We can't pretend
We must run
We must run
It's time to run
Take us away from here
Protect us from further harm
Resistance!
Thanks!!!
Thank you

I feel no sadness with nostalgia. This band will most definitely become timeless.
Same here I was trying to look all over for the song I had a bad phase Las Vegas Lotta good friends this All I had on a playlist helped me out in a good way crazy nostalgia trip though

why did you search for it on youtube...
Resistance = Voltage/Current
this technically is my homework....
holy fuck, every muse song gets truer every day, he couldve been right.
He sure is !
Sad but true
I didn't really see it coming but you're correct! 💯
The powers that be give the lyrics and songs to the bands basically. They have to warn us of what's coming. It is like their universal law.
@@SuperKatdancer ...or maybe Muse are just smart and see what's coming and resist it???
This song is a MASTERPIECE.
And still is this day

Актуально, как никогда! Благодарю, что слышу это❤
when i first started listening to this band 8 years ago, i stumbled across this song, and thought, "wow i wanna see this live", and i get to today.
This is awesome. Unforunately, I didn't get to see them today but I felt your enthusiasm while going through the comments. I hope you enjoyed them.
+Lupita Reyes it was AMAZING.
I bet it was. I saw some videos and made me wish I was there.
Fucking goals man, props to you for living life the way you're supposed to
+Cloe Meyer I said the same thing. Now im going to be seeing them later tonight!

Muse has been my favorite band for years and they still are
I was casually reading 1984 while listening to my usual playlist, and this song comes on and here I am actually listening to the lyrics and I hear "you'll wake the thought police" I'm like woah wait a sec... I keep listening and there are so many references to the book so ofc I google it and this song was based on the book and here I am freaking out and none of my friends really listen to muse or have read the book so I can't freak out with them...
+Ashley Montan I found out about the connection to 1984 when this song was first released. The year before, i studied the book for school. I had the same reaction as you and freaked out and i haven't really stopped...Muse really are awesome. :)
That's awesome- I want to read 1984 now!
+Ashley Montan - An oldie here, read 1984 years ago when a mere teenager, stayed with me ever since… there's been many references to it over the years, plus now it's got scary as we have many of those 'fictional' systems in place, our newspapers are monitored, tv news controlled, most wars reported via propaganda controlled by govs, most people have mobile phones that have auto-tracking systems on them (whether you turn it off or not!), card payment systems that follow you (Oystercards, etc), even store cards (0.0001p back ones) that track your every move - then TV now being cable/satellite/broadband which also tracks what you view, most people on computers logging into somewhere (all trackable), Facebook, Twitter, other social media… I could go on for pages, 1984 is here, never doubt it! Problem is most of the 'systems' are friendly, easy to use and save us time so people happily walk into them. Unfortunately a lot of people only realise what's occurring if they're read the book or seen the film. There are many who realise anyway from being aware but we all need a cattle prod to awaken our suspicion; as they say, if it looks too good to be true, it isn't good ;)
Hola
+Ashley Montan
You right, and it's actually even more exciting to find out about this after a year or two of being a huge fan of this song
BTW: If your friends neither have read the book nor listening to Muse, then you're dealing with a wrong company, obviously :) :)
To anyone still alive today and in the following years, remember of this song as a guide. Never let down your liberties.
13 years later , if you're watching this , you're a ultra legend 🤯
ok
yes i am
Yay! I’m also totally sane :)
….yep..saanee….
Absolutely
I feel so old 😂
If we live a life in fear, i wait a thousand year, just to see you smile again.
This song made me read 1984. How often does a song make you want to read? -"Take us away from here!!..."
1984 is so dull... maybe because we had to study it for stupid english
qstar x 1984 is one of the best book i have :O :D
but yea if you had to study that book for school, i understand :D
Saška Ssh Brave New World is better and more relevant but 1984 is not bad in the least.
Yea i have Brave New World but 1984 is still better to me, and i have 1985 too (not Orwell). :D
Same story, read the book after heard the song.

A message to the future generations: "DON'T LET THIS SONG DIE"
The real message: don't die.
To the present
This has a Queen-like vibe to it.
absolutely!
Queen copies this band. Queen also copied bunch of songs.
+benoderpity nice b8 m8
It's more like Rush meets Queen.
The whole album does
This band is amazing. It contains operatic tones, punk vibes, electrofunk piano. It sounds like a mash of The Killers/U2/Queen/Green Day/Owl City depending on what song you're listening to
I was just thinking how "Bono" he sounds on this one...
is it just me or does united states of eurasia give you queen vibes
The piano riff sounds like pet shop boys
The Clash aswell
he sounds and looks like thom from radiohead too lol
every muse songs is my favourite song!
I still listen
In memory of all fallen people. Please no more war.
Sadly that's not possible as humanity loves destruction
Nick The sick tick =(
As long as there are people who strive for the wrong kind of power wars will continue happen...
+Jessi G Yeah......sadly war, conflict, disagrements are a part of the human way of acting and there will be war always.
Well it possible for no more wars but that would mean absolute control or we could do absolute anarchy but that harder to achieve... quick question, would you rather have absolute anarchy or absolute control
My 62 year old mum and my 2 year old son love Muse.. they can't be wrong.
superdrone but you should've been right
2024. Muse ALWAYS in our lives

I'm into heavy metal but I went to keep my pal company at a Muse concert and I was completely blown away. What a band. Love them :)
well this is not hevy metal, in this song in particular looks like british metal, but what a great song
Meu este som sem palavras viajo entra na mente top demais .....

didnt heavy metal come from the uk?
@@TFOCyborg Black sabbath took blues and rock and roll from the USA, mixed it with some murky, grimy magic from their dirty, industrial city (Birmingham) and metal was born. Sort of.

13 years after. I'm here because "The Warning"... Another rising Legend.
Thanks Muse for the inspiration.
My favorite contemporary band. They have everything, introspective, scientific, technologic, poetic, keyboards, message, romance, humour, best band, great bass, drums and touring keyboard. I'm in my fifties and just "discovered them" last year, so I'm still getting caught up.. But the last two albums I loved. Had to sell my concert tickets, at face value to a fan, last winter in Oakland. Hope they come back.
Almost forgot, the best contemporary fusion of progressive rock, science rock (their very own creation); techno rock, and symphonic rock guitarist in Matt Bellamy.

It's funny, when I listen to Muse, I often wonder what other generations would think of them. Their style is so elegant yet so badass, and *so* engaging, I feel like this is rock at its best. So I'm glad I read your comment. I'm dying to see them live because it looks like it would be the best live show I'll ever attend.
So right!
MUSE ROCKS
I get goosebumps every time I listen to this song
youre right, even after over 10 years listening to, it does the same effect
Couldn’t agree more
after 2020, I realized Muse is the greatest band of history
Bellamys voice does that to me....
weirdo
To be able to keep making incredible music for all these years, the talent of this band is something very, very rare.
that sound in the beginning is just HAUNTING

This band will go down as one the best Rock n roll bands of our time.
... this isn't rock n roll.
***** its alternative rock
a normal Chocobo
Indeed, that and Gnostic Rock!
Alternative rock is still in theory rock n roll. Anything that is "rock" is rock n roll.
Muse is so much better than ordinary rock music!
Muse will go down as THE big rock band of the 2000's. In decades to come we'll look back on these songs and albums the same way. Keeping rock and the beating heart of music alive through constant innovation and personality.
I agree! For years I've described them as a concept band - like taking a concept album to the nth level. They're so good!!
You know what else is big!? My chin. I’m pretty sure there’s like 5 layers there.
See the deeper meaning. This song applies directly to our existential reality. The incredible danger to it. Observe the words and images carefully. Stay strong and exercise great prudence.
Hint : Ethnically homogeneous audience?
October 2023 and I still listening this song ❤
I don't know how to explain this, but this song always makes me feel all sort of things. It's like I'm feeling so powerful that I could do all I ever wanted to do. And the nostalgia of the time when this song came out hits me everytime. And I really have this impression that I'm in an other world when I listen to them
That's why I love Muse, nobody else can make me feel this greatness
That's what music is. Makes us feel. Sometimes unexplainable, but at least you feel alive.
Hey I totally feel the same as you! That's what Muse do. They're so incredible
This nailed it for me.
U are powerful
they ARE totally unique for sure
the bassline is so underrated
As a former bass player, a lot of people don't pay attention to the bass line when sometimes its so essential and makes up the rest of the song. They underestimate the bass when we're the glue! Haha
This bassline is just great. Deff. Not underrated by anyone I know. Somebody dared to underrate this ? No way. Show me who and I 'll underrate them myself !
I’ve been looking for the title of this song for 12 years… Finally got it !!!
One of the best songs ever
Woah. funny coincidence
* everyone talks about 1984 *
* I'm intensely curious about 1984 *
* gets obsessed with Danisnotonfire, who happens to love muse and briefly mentions this song *
* Finally finds 1984 and reads it *
* sees a comment mentioning that this song is based off of 1984, listened to it, and could pretty much completely understand all the references. * yay.
Everything in the world is connected. O.o :p
Muse has a ton of 1984 references in their music either directly or indirectly. Don't want to spoil it and tell you all of them, hut you should keep looking around it's pretty cool hearing artists implement such inspiring literature into their music
That's awesome. I certainly will.

Am I the only one who greatly prefers the verses to the chorus?
This song fucks me up every time I hear it. It is so pure and I brake down and get so emotional and cry.
This song made me feel alive when I was in a very dark time in my life. I will always appreciate the rhythm and lyrics, and obviously Muse.

I have always loved this song and only about a year ago I realized that it references 1984... one of my favorite books, of course I love the song now more than ever. And the AMAZING way they used "Mon coeur s'ouvre a ta voix" makes me really appreciate this band.
Hi
I am curious 🧐
“Mon coeur s’ouvre à ta voix”
Could you explain ?
Yes he's talking about the time in America now
@@hopefullyihelpedyo8231song's from 2009. and it's literally about the book 1984.
A lot of the album references 1984 actually
Are you talking about Muse's song "I belong to you"? :)
12/31/22 New Year’s Eve and this song came to mind. Love the 1984 references. Timeless song with a timeless sentiment
I'm here on New Years' as well. Another year where this is still relevant.
It's not relevant to any country in the Western world. Please. That's an insult to people who live in actual dictatorships.

No love left to give, here.
“Love is our resistance” is specific to the characters in the story. Their resistance is acting on their romantic feelings for each other. Resistance to tyranny comes in many forms.
these guys are in the living matrix of today, and never has their music been more relavent than today!
I love that little transition from Uprising to Resistance. They open this one of their best albums with two of their best songs. Anyway, the stage design looks incredible. I love Muse.
