Los Motorodillos de Caracolí, Antioquia, Colombia. What are motorodillos? The people of Caracolí have turned the abandoned railway into a light rail system using converted motorcycles.
Thank you very much for this very interesting and informative video presentation, the people are absolutely delighted with what has been done to keep the railroad in use. Those that provide these services are to be commended for their great resourcefulness, it is very impressive.
After talking with the guys in Colombia about it, I learned that there is a market for used bearings there. So, when they switch out large bearings from a machine or a truck they sell the used ones to those guys in Caracolí for their rail service. That economic activity has been going on there for years! I would love it if you made one in Tasmania and you rode the rails there!

Beautiful place, but so marred by some "idiot" pointing the camera to the ground so often, instead of pointing mostly forward to enjoy the scenery. One other thing...the music is TOO BLOODY LOUD! It would be nice to listen to the rolling vehicle, and the sound of the environment reflecting the sound of the cart back.
These train operators are earning money from this rail track. They should also be given the task by their government for the proper maintenance of the tracks to keep it in good running condition or government should charge maintenance tax from the rail operators for the purpose.

I have seen them in use in southeast Asia too, in the Philippines where I stayed a few times

The people are genuine, they have not sold the rail tracks. In India the tracks would have long be gone. Sold as scrap.
