    When you go to a doctor you should look at his/her face. Dr. Mabrie's face is so young, natural and perfect looking...that's how you know when he works on your face it will look most natural. He is really the BEST and I miss his great work as I am no longer in SanFrancisco!

    Thanks for your great works & video post. A very helpful video. I just Wanted to know what is HA concentration different between Restylane and JUVÉDERM VOLUMA?

    • @DavidMabrieMD
      @DavidMabrieMD  Před 7 lety +1

      Thank you for the compliment! I believe you can check the manufacturer's website for the HA concentration difference. Clinically, this is not really important. In my practice the important difference between the two is the consistency and firmness of the product. Restylane is a medium firmness and works well under the eyes and in the nose. Juvederm Voluma has a thicker consistency and is fantastic at lifting the cheekbones, augmenting the chin and mid-face.

    Dr Mabrie, what do you think about the dangers of fillers in the nasolabial fold area, the glabella and the nose area? I've been hearing a lot about it.

    • @DavidMabrieMD
      @DavidMabrieMD  Před 3 lety

      Hi Aish,
      Like any medical procedure, filler injections have potential risks and side effects. We think an injector with extensive knowledge of facial anatomy are KEY.
      We just recently posted a graph on our Instagram page to give you an overview on which facial zones are more technically complex and which areas have a higher risk of vascular occlusion. You can check it out here: instagram.com/p/CCoJNrXDEmR/?
      Let us know if this doesn't answer your question.

    great video .. what u like more the Radiesse or Juverderm Voluma ?, whats the better option for the cheeks and chin ? Thank u

    • @DavidMabrieMD
      @DavidMabrieMD  Před 8 lety

      I love using Juvederm Voluma for both the cheeks and chin! For those who want a little extra for their chin, I will often use a combination of Juvederm Voluma and Radiesse.

  • @0680496
    @0680496 Před 7 lety

    which one last longer in the cheek area: Radiesse or Voluma? Thanks!

    • @DavidMabrieMD
      @DavidMabrieMD  Před 7 lety

      I find that Juvederm Voluma lasts longer in the cheek area. There are some times patients prefer Radiesse for the way it feels but they usually prefer Juvederm Voluma.

  • @mascottie
    @mascottie Před 5 lety

    Is it still true that you can’t use voluma for the under eye hollows? I went for a consultation and the doctor said he would use Voluma there.

    • @DavidMabrieMD
      @DavidMabrieMD  Před 5 lety

      Mascottie, great question. There are so many fillers on the market to choose from and every Injector has their own preferences. It is important to know that each filler has different molecular structures and it's own unique characteristics (e.g. consistency) which makes them more or less appropriate for one area but not the other.
      For example, Juvederm Voluma has a spongy consistency like tofu or marshmallow, it adds volume and in my opinion is best suited for the mid-face, cheek area and the chin.
      Restylane is a smooth, clear gel that has a consistency of jelly and "flows" when it is injected and is my go-to filler for the tear troughs and the nose.
      I’ve found that the best results in treating the under eye area is to not only inject the tear trough, but also the midface and cheek area to give enough support.
      I hope this was helpful and apologies for such a late response.

    what is an option for someone who wants to reduce their fat in their cheeks. Someone who does not need volume. Is there a non surgical option to accomplish this?

    • @DavidMabrieMD
      @DavidMabrieMD  Před 7 lety +1

      Great question! Yes there is a non surgical why to give the cheeks a slimmer appearance. I still use dermal fillers for this, injecting them in places like the cheekbones and chin, emphasizing the correct areas and slimming other. Just like contouring with makeup! Take a look at this patient of mine who had the same issue www.yourfaceinourhands.com/photos/facial-dermal-fillers/Case-377.cfm?sCATID=24&sSearch=&sProvID=&sModified=

    Why can't it be used for the nose bridge and tip?

    • @DavidMabrieMD
      @DavidMabrieMD  Před 8 lety

      I have used Juvederm Voluma for the nose before but I usually use Restylane because of the thickness of the dermal filler.

      Hi Sonia Simon! I typically use Juvederm Ultra for the lips because it is a nice soft filler.

  • @samanthatorres6700
    @samanthatorres6700 Před 5 lety

    Voluma can use for lips?

    • @DavidMabrieMD
      @DavidMabrieMD  Před 4 lety +1

      Samantha, Juvéderm Voluma has a spongy consistency like tofu or marshmallow and is great for lifting. It’s our go-to dermal filler for lifting the upper and mid-cheek area (cheek augmentation) to correct an aged or sunken appearance and for the chin (chin augmentation). Due to it's consistency it's not suited for the lips.
      We think the most reliable filler for the lip area is Juvederm Ultra. Its consistency is soft enough to provide augmentation smoothly and evenly across your lips.
      We hope this is helpful.

    • @DavidMabrieMD
      @DavidMabrieMD  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi Lee! There are both temporary and permanent dermal fillers available. I prefer to use hyaluronic acid dermal fillers because they are 100% reversible but unfortunately are temporary. I suggest watching my video Botox and Dermal Fillers 101 for more information :)
