Thanks for the reviews. Yours is the 1st in English that I know of. The P17 is on my wishlist.
Thanks, glad I could help. I personally love the smaller form factor and cleaner beam of P17. Again, I keep both 🤣
Excellent video. Thanks for taking the time to do this and Happy New Year to you 😊
Thank you, all the best to you too!
I've been waiting for this, congrats on being one of the 1st to put these 2 against each other
Thanks, hope the video meets your expectations 😊
I've been checking the P17 out since I first heard of it.
Just bought it based on your review.
Thanks!
Glad I could help. Let it serve you well
The P17 just arrived - do you have a recommendation for a holster for it?
@@scottweitzenhoffer2575 buy a fenix tk 20r holster
Great video, I've been waiting for reviews and videos of these lights and glad you compared the two models. I was torn between the P17 and P18 and ended up purchasing the P18 during Black Friday which I don't regret! The higher sustained outputs, longer throw, larger beam coverage, and built in USB C charging is worth the trade off of it being a slightly larger light, in my opinion.
Great, thank you. Let the P18 serve yo well :D
How much was the p18 on black friday?
Excellent review, deserves two thumbs up. I raise both toes, too!
Thank you, highly appreciated 👍
Thanks for the comparison, great insights. Good point about both buttons activating the highest mode in the tactical UI.
Thank you, for me it doesn't make any sense, but maybe it has some reasoning in tactical situation?
@@FlashlightEnthusiast Is high stress situations you can lose your fine motor functions and in that case maybe it makes sense that pressing either button will give you maximum power. Just a theory.
@@FlashlightEnthusiast from a tactical standpoint it might make sense to have a mode where both buttons activate turbo. This way, even under stress, there is no way to accidentally activate another level by mistake. That being said, since there two tactical modes, it would make sense to have a shortcut to turbo and low in at least one. The shortcut to low could be a triple click of the function switch which would minimize the risk of unwanted activation in an emergency. Just my humble opinion of course. I suscribed to your channel, you make great reviews.
Thanks for the video, definitely will buy P17 🔦
Glad I could help ;) All the best in 2023
Fantastic review!! Thank you my friend✌
Thank you!
Oj stary wymiatasz z tymi filmami. Strasznie dobrze się, je ogląda. Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku :) Nitecore p20ix ma konkurencje.
Dzięki Adrian 😃 Patrzyłem na tego Nitecore nawet do porównania, mały zasięg niestety. Masz go może u siebie?
Excellent job, as always!
That P18 is definitely pretty unique on the flashlight market, being a (relatively) compact single 21700 cell flashlight, with a quad-emitter head.
The only other similar light that comes to mind is the Rovyvon S23, which uses (4) Cree XP-L diodes, but they are domed, and output is a bit lower at 4000 lumens.
It would be interesting to compare these two lights.
Anyway, I ordered a P18. I had a Wurkkos FC12 (SFT-40) that I really liked, but, it got lost. So, it created an opportunity to replace it with something even better!
I’ll be using it on night runs in the country.
Thank you John! Thanks for mentioning Rovyvon, I'll take a look at it. Let it serve you well!
Incredible how the P18 win the throwing contest, when anyone expected the P17 to be the better one with its single emitter....
I like acebeam products! I have an acebeam k75.
Great thrower, one of the best on the market. Great choice 👍

You can find Acebeam P18 here: bit.ly/3prrQLu
Great work as usual. The quality from Acebeam is guaranteed every time. Quad SFT-40 wins this one, IMO.
Thank you! Appreciate your comment. For performance definitely quad SFT40 😃
I wish the P17 also had a hidden charging port. That would make it the perfect light IMO
That would be awesome. At least there is one build in the battery
Thanks for this review. You asked about a holster - mine didn’t come with a holster either. No lanyard. The lubrication of my P18 seems a little bit poor. Not to say completely absent. The tailcap thread in general doesn’t give a high-quality impression.
Thanks for sharing your impressions. I am a bit disappointed with threads too...
Unless you must EDC one of the two flashlights, I would buy the four-emitters light - Acebeam P18. For some reasons, it has more throw than the P17, and better thermal curve.
Anyway, for practical purposes, both lights can produce continuously 1000 - 1200 Lumens. The 5000 Lumens figure is for a warning flash...
Really wish manufacturers would care more about tint. 6500k is bluish with poor color rendition, making target identification harder. The Xhp70.3 hi is amazing between 4500-5000k, very natural light that our eyes work well with. Acebeam, listen to me... LUMENS ARENT EVERYTHING. TINT MATTERS.
Is the turbo on the P17/P18 also regulated, i.e. it still achieves almost the same performance when the battery voltage drops, or is the turbo FET?
I believe it is regulated in all modes, Acebeam is known for that, only regulated boost drivers.
Do you have any idea if the thyrm switchback or switchback 2.0 would fit on the p17?
For what I can tell based on a short research it is made for smaller 1" lights, so in that case P17 might be too thick to be compatible
lol if i had the money i would buy the P17 its perfect for what i need so yeah thanks for making this video
You are welcome ;)
Love Canada Merci Québec ❤😊😮
Peace my brother 👋
Wait, do the P18 cant have its battery replaced by a battery With USB-C charging ?
You can put a standard 21700 cell without any problem or one with build-in USB C port
Hey man stupid question. Just bought the p18, is it ok to charge the battery in a charger like the nitecore UMS2 even when it have that usb c hole in it ? I mean will it be safe or burn my house down
Good question. You can charge it normally on a standard li-ion charger, no worries
@@FlashlightEnthusiast thanks man, Nice videos by the way.
@@peakz1099 that’s actually a good question. Olight has a warning against doing it.. Iv done it 1 time and nothing happened.. idk.. I don’t see why it would matter but just a heads up that some do care.
@@AverageReviewsYT olight was saying that because they do not use standard batteries...
Maybe I’m missing It because I keep ending up in the comments but what’s the measured throw? I saw the lumens, but need throw lol
You can always find it in the beamshots section, right at the top, along with measured candela
Somehow I looked right over it lol
17:46 and 18:06. Enjoy!
@@FlashlightEnthusiast yeah I got it when u told me., thanks for the time stamps.. I had found the, already lol
Can I Leave It Turbo For The P17? Meaning Once I Turn It On The Turbo Comes On By One Press?
Yes, highest mode is memorized
@@FlashlightEnthusiast Awesome Ok Thanks..!🤙🏼
No holsters huh? Great video
Thanks! I miss them in the package
Im looking for a good thrower with descent flood. Could anyone help me with it. My range is 100-200 USD.
Basically any thrower flashlight in that price range will have decent flood. The p18 is a strong contender.
which is better p17 or l35?
Depends on the application... ;) What would you use it for?
Does it have memory mode for turbo?
Yes, if you leave it in Turbo than main switch will act as a moemtsry Turbo activation. In Tactical mode 2 you have secondary switch and main switch set to 2000 lm always on
02:26 savor the peelies
Hell yeah
The P18 kinda reminds me of the discontinued Wurkkos TS30, which was a 21700 light with three SFT-40s instead, resulting in less throw than this one.
Trudny wybór.. Ale chyba wleci P18🙂
I słusznie ;)
Do you consider the P17 pocket size?
Yeah, quite frankly I do. Rear jeans pocket, military style pants, or just jacket pocket.
