They are both vindicated. The training was superior, but you can’t handle every student like their A+ and then guarantee that they become whatever you see them to be.

You don't get to murder billions and be "vindicated". It's the worst concept in SW.

He believed in Anakin and there was still good in Vader but regrets dying and not being there for Anakin to protect him from the Council and Palpetine.
Could there have been a way for Anakin to fulfill the prophecy? Yes.
But the decisions he made and the people around him drove him down the darkest path

He sat there eating snacks. We all saw Charlie’s video.

He needs counseling; his gambling addiction is getting bad, as well as his crude desire to see other people die to lightsaber blades. I'm telling you, QuiGon's fucked up in the head. Charlie needs to hire a therapist for him.

See its more fleshed out stuff that makes Qui-Gon a well rounded and more believable as a character. He had good intentions yes for his actions in TPM but he had to have known on some level Anakin was doomed the second Maul killed him his ‘’living in the moment’ mantra may have serve him well in some aspects but he lacked foresight incase things didn’t work out and Anakin paid the price. More importantly he admits passing the buck to Obi-Wan was wrong that Obi-Wan wasn’t ready to train a padawan much less a special case like Anakin and he set that in motion. In the end he did the best he could and it still ended wrong sure Anakin fulfilled the prophecy but he suffered a life or pain and loss as a result and Qui-Gon at least acknowledges that was partly on him.

Qui-Gon was more observant than anyone

@@nathanchun4880observant my ass if that was true he should have known Obi-Wan wasn’t ready beforehand to take on an apprentice much less the chosen one. It was only after Anakin fell to the dark side, got diced up and deep fried and spent years committing atrocities as Darth Vader did Qui-Gon admit his actions were wrong.

If Qui-Gon hadn't spotted Anakin and told Obi-Wan to train him, the former wouldn't have turned into a sith. But then, he couldn't have been close to the emperor to defeat him with his son's help. But then again, the Emperor would have died anyway in the second death star, following the rebel's attack.

No, if Anakin never was trained and never became Vader, Palpatine would not have been slain on the Death Star or defeated at all. The Force created Anakin specifically to counter the extreme power of Sidious.
Let's assume for sake of discussion that the galactic events play out similarly even without Vader. Palpatine wouldn't have died on Second Death Star because there wouldn't BE a Second Death Star or a Rebel Alliance. Without Vader, the first Death Star wouldn't have been destroyed because no Luke to do so, and the Empire would've blown Yavin 4 to pieces once they tracked down the Alliance.
We all saw how successful the other Rebel pilots were in hitting the exhaust port: the ONLY weakness. Only Luke could achieve it.
So without Vader, Sidious' Empire would've never faced any legit challenge. Hence why the Force made Anakin and the Skywalker legacy in the first place.
Star Wars IS like poetry in this respect. From Plageuis and Sidious' experiments leading to the Force making Anakin, to Vader helping overthow the empire at the end of his life. From the beginning of Palpatine's Sith journery and Anakin's infancy, to their respective ends forty years later at each other's hands, it truly does rhyme. And even further, if you consider Anakin becoming the Father of the Cosmic Force at balance of himself, while Sidious' darkness grew even more extreme in the opposite direction from Anakin's harmony, via his unnatural conquering of death itself. One embraces death and finds true harmony, the other rejects death with insanely dark power and creates even worse chaos.
The parallels between those two characters are insane. Trust me, without Anakin, Palpatine would have reigned untouchable and invicible as an immortal, and the Galaxy would've suffered eons under his Empire.

It's good to see Qui Gon taking some responsibility for this. Anakin was responsible for falling but if Qui Gon had respected the council's rules, the whole thing wouldn't have happened. The council's position was correct. It mad all you want about that point but the writing supports that whether it intends to or not.

Qui gon Jinn was pivotal to the Skywalker story arch but the entire Jedi order should have studied jedi calculus with Mace Windu even as masters. Mace mastery of shatterpoint & vepad balancing dark with lite, not for greedy ends but to evolve the study of Jedi arts preparation
The saint like culture blinded the Jedi to the necessarily of evolution ultimately the downfall
