    Look at that nasty shit blowing around! I worked a job that previously had been mined and filled with flyash. The infill structure design grades for the new development had me swimming neck deep in the stuff. I had a stockpile higher than the shopping center next to it. The wind would blow and carry the cloud right across the parking lot like that. The shit would blow into my cab as I pushed it. It would make me salivate and spit all day. Nasty nasty nasty stuff. I always wondered if the company ever got fined for it. All in a days worth of just doing what your told!

    I don't see the point.. it still needs some sort of surface treatment!! This would not be a system that can last in the north... Save the aggravation and just mill and pave

    Whered you get the 3-6 months idea from. It dosent take 3-6 months to resurface a road via original mothods. I should know. I see it done alot. Street near me was done in 4 days. Using new asphalt.

    I think this is a great idea, it would be nice if it could be contained in 1 machine and maybe a little faster. I could only imagine the billions the gov spends on paying contractors to haul/dispose of the millings to a dump or recycle plant. Then that same plant recycles the millings and sells it right back as new asphalt. Everyone cry's about bad roads, but they have no idea how expensive it costs to have them repaved. How much would the gov save per sq foot on asphalt if they did not have to pay a contractor to haul millings/asphalt out/in, if the asphalt plant was 30 miles away. Most of the issues with asphalt is the ground underneath it. The only other idea would be to have a large scale portable milling recycle plant.

    Why should it take 3-6 months for this stretch of Asphalt to be renewed?? Rip it out(~1 day milling(full width)), correct the aggregate underneath it eg., grade, compaction, etc (3-5 days) Hot in Hot Paving ( full width) 1 day. Traffic ready the next morning. But i know youre in the US and like to do thinks in a really fucked up way

    • @internazi
      @internazi Před 5 lety +1

      All the municipalities want to have a record of trying out and say it failed. There are tons of incentives at the gov level when it comes to procurement of funds. its the same as the low emission requirements, contractors get all kinds of tax credits for that type of equipment

    Cold-in-place cycling seems to be the way of the future in the asphalt paving industry as lower CO2 emissions are released during this process.

    • @mikel9567
      @mikel9567 Před 5 lety +2

      CO2 emissions aren't harmful. CO2 is heavier than air and dissipates rapidly. Cement contains Silica. Silica is extremely harmful and your body won't remove it. Yeah, let's endanger the public by spraying dry cement dust onto a road surface and creating massive amounts of dust just to do a subpar paving job which is far more costly and less reliable than current methods while posing an increased risk to the public and crews. Yeah, some future.

      Meatdolt flyash dries the base up so when its milled it mixes in with the added polymers to create a longer lasting surface. meatmuppet you showed up on the short bus huh?
