In my old neighborhood there was a house that always went all out. One year they gave out comic books and had a bunch of superheroes out on the lawn. Another time they had a cotton candy machine done up like a cauldron.

"it's not even such a big deal here in Germany" I wish - yesterday I was busy renovating and got continuously interrupted by kids trick-or-treating. Had no idea they'd come so had to explain to them that I don't live there and thus don't have any candy.

@@AdamZovits Aw, yeah, in some regions might be way more popular nowadays. Rural Bavaria here. Very few families go around local neighborhood, most don't. In our case parents even asked whether it's okay for us and if we could prepare a bit. Out of the blue might indeed be tricky.
