I had an MRI today. Being a claustrophic person, i did the following to overcm the challenge: 1) went on sunday to avoid rush by MRI guys 2) took around 2-3 mins to adjust to machine by going in and out slightly 3) a person along with me was constantly caressing the feet for feel of security 4) last and most important- i was chanting mantra constantly for focus of mind to calm and kept my eyes closed. When inside, make sure your keep eyes closed because sight is what creates fear. Avoid talking and juat focus on one thought. And you will be through. Hope it helps you. Good luck 👍
I had mine yesterday for about 35 minutes. First 5 were terrifying, i thought I was gonna get crushed. Later I started meditate and all was good, I opened my eyes 3 times to calm myself down. It was not as bad as I thought, except for one of my earplugs falling out. My ear almost died..
It is a very loud uncomfortable feelinf, and the sound is loud , it shockes your nody, increases your blood pressure, I just did 2 hours straight of this, I wanted to kill myself. It is so horrible of an experience to go through, But if you want to know what is wrong with you, you have to do it. Good Luck, to all if my neighbor humans that will go through this, just focus on your breathing and staying calm , remember its a machine scanning you to find problems. Its not going to hurt you, but it sure feels and sounds like it will. You will be ok, Im still standing, a week later. Posted on June 20th. 2023. Peace Out To All, Jen 🎇🙏❤️
I Just had MRI yesterday. Doctor said it would be 1,5-2 hours for thorax and contras. I almost fainted when heard that, cause I had pannic attack. I plead to the doc so my aunt can accompany me in the room. Before start, They fit my ear with earmuffs. But when first get in the tube with open eyes, I feel like I'm trapped in a suitcase😅. Failed. Second, i didn't want that earmuffs. And doc ask my aunt to hold my feet. That was so helpfull. I feel safe and comfortable. When I feel scared, I shake my toes and my aunt will tight her hold. I cry inside, thought that 1,5-2 hours. But, suddenly, still 45 min running, the nurse said "finished" with big smile, she said the radiolog doc said that's enough clear. My God... finally free from the nightmare, relieved and hugging sooo tight my aunt. 😅.
I had a MRI hours ago... It was actually very relaxing for me, they fit my ears with earmuffs and wasn't that loud actually, I was there imagining I was inside an EDM concert
They should have a blood pressure cuff on you when you go through this, in case you have a full blown panic attack, which is what I experienced. I could have died, from my heart stopping.

The ‘train sounds’ you hear is the hydrogen condenser. The liquid hydrogen is used to keep the superconducting coil below their critical temperature, so they don’t have any resistance, and the current can create a strong magnetic field
I had my cervical spine and lumber spine MRI last night, i really didn't have any idea about MRI experience and about the terrible noises and axiety attacks , i thought it is just a test i will go through it in just minutes, but things getting difficult when it took 30 minutes and i was feeling difficulty in breathing ( i have already issues in breathing and sometimes i cant breath for few seconds in normal routein) so this made it also difficult for me , and after MRI my mind was in strange state may be due to the terrible noises and i cant walk properly, my legs were numb. My other mistake was i kept my eyes open all the time , dont know why i was felling fear to close my eyes.
The gradient coils emitting RF waves vibrate against the fibreglass, creating the noises. These waves are essential, as they knock the aligned H atoms on your body off their axis. When they realign, the machine measures their movement. If you can engineer a better solution I’d love to hear it
I have to get an MRI soon with sedation, for brain and cervical neck. but I'm sooo scared of the horrible sound's because I have EXTREME sound sensitivity 😢 May ALLAH SWT make it easy.

Why don't they make mri scanners without that fucking sound
@🧸- Vivi - 🩷 ct Scanners are something completely different.

In India, Hindu families used to make at the door as a positive symbol
Imagine hearing all those sounds without being slightly scared
मुझे तो मशीन को देख कर डर लग रहा है

Whg cant they use sound proof machines?
The gradient coils emitting RF waves vibrate against the fibreglass, creating the noises. These waves are essential, as they knock the aligned H atoms on your body off their axis. When they realign, the machine measures their movement. If you can engineer a better solution I’d love to hear it
