  • I am new on the way to what I consider to be a proper beard! On my journey, I am going to be experimenting with various beard and moustache cosmetics. The first one that I have been using on a daily basis is the bulldog range of facial oils and conditioners.
    So far, I have found the smell very addictive and as a money saver, I would class the beard oil and conditioner as "Very Good Value" compared with other I have seen on my daily travels.
    If you are interested in trying out the products I have been talking about in the video then here are the direct links to AMAZON:

    Is there any chance you could do a skincare video?
    Maybe recommend some budget men's products. Facewash, moisturiser and scrub.
    Would love to know what products you use, you look nowhere near 50.

      Hi Andy, thanks for the comment. I am going to be doing a video on the Bulldog balm compared to a premium type balm, the Seven Potions beard balm. I was surprised in the difference, I found the Bulldog balm was more like a face cream. I think this is fine for a shorter beard/stubble. Have you tried the Bulldog oil, I think it's the best smelling oil in all the oils I have tried so far!!

    • @andyben87
      @andyben87 Před 6 lety +1

    I used up my last bit up bulldog beard oil, and the used up the bulldog beard balm a week before the oil.loved both of them.only negative thing about them to me was the oil reducing cap thing on the beard oil.i totally hated that thing.u have to vigorously shake the hell out of the bottle to get a few drops.good news is that u can pop the reducer out,but then it's a totally open bottle.(gotta be careful)I would suggest a dropper. Or just a pop top lid.other than that, great products.

    • @PeterMillikin
      @PeterMillikin  Před 6 lety

      Yeah, the oil reducing cap does it's job but almost too well sometimes! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and adding a tip.

  • @johncrichton7461
    @johncrichton7461 Před 6 lety +7

    I use the beard oil and I agree it's really nice my skin has honestly never looked better. So if you have extra on your hands rub it all into the skin on your face it will feel like heaven. If I ever shave my beard I'd keep using the oil just for my skin. The bulldog wax on the other hand is a bit too soft for my wiry mess but is probably fine if you have softer beard hair.

    • @PeterMillikin
      @PeterMillikin  Před 6 lety +3

      One of my favourite smells but since making the video I have tried a few "premium oils" and wow... have you tried many more of the more expensive, premuim oils?

    • @johncrichton7461
      @johncrichton7461 Před 6 lety

      Not yet but my best friend has a massive beard that's well kept, I might borrow one of his to try for a few weeks as even with oil and a stronger wax it's still been a bit messy. Still it's short right now going to give it some time for length and thickness to see if it settles down first.
      I do like the fact it's an understated smell, nothing worse than smelling like a cheap brothel.

    • @PeterMillikin
      @PeterMillikin  Před 6 lety

      When I first started growing the beard, I was tempted to keep trimming it to stop the annoying messy look. Once I stopped and got past a certain length, I could use my straighteners and my 230c resistant comb. I could then get rid of annoyances like curls and stuff. I have a video which shows the comb if you haven't seen it. czcams.com/video/Vg5US2Kx574/video.html

      35 years old, you're one of the most honest people I have ever met!!!!!!! ha ha.... My girlfriend uses a castor oil for her hair to make it thick. I use this on my beard as it promotes thicker hair. I got it in my local BOOTS store. The product is called ORS CASTOR OIL and was about £5.00 (lasts ages)

      Thanks again for you comments and enjoy your new beard. I am past that first stage of annoyness. Try find a decent barber, modern... who can help you through the stages of growth without wasting months and chopping it badly or too much off. I live in Worthing so not sure if this is near you or not.

      @bipper7943 Před 7 lety +1

      Thanks for the tips man, my main problem atm is trying to fill in the patches and add a bit of volume. That castor oil is a good shout I think i'll give it a go :)

    • @PeterMillikin
      @PeterMillikin  Před 7 lety +1

      I am lucky not to have patches but as your beard gets longer you can play a little bit more to fill the gaps (like a bush) Brush some of the hair to hide it!! I am at the stage now where I nearly through the homeless look and I can start the shape process ( About 8 months in so I have had to cut to let the other parts of the beard catch up.
      Best of luck and thanks again for your comments - Pete

      The hair was only colour on the top through a hairdresser messing up a small amount of grey I wanted added to front! It is back to natural now. The beard I do colour lightly every few months as I prefer the brown look to the more natural ginger tint.

    do you dye yer beard ?? im guessing yes.. nowt wrong with that, just asking.

    • @PeterMillikin
      @PeterMillikin  Před 6 lety +1

      Yes I do, it started when I was a beard newbie and had a very short beard. I had two annoying grey patches and if I am honest I prefered the brown look as it matches to the top of my head more. I don't dye it as much these days but I must say, it makes it really really soft for weeks after. You wouldn't think so would you but it does!!

    What are the ingrediants like in this product is it full of chemicals?

    • @PeterMillikin
      @PeterMillikin  Před 6 lety +2

      The products are purpose built for men and contain natural ingredients. So things like aloe vera, camelina oil and green tea. Great to soften, tame and condition your beard!

    Do you wash your beard ever day ?

    • @PeterMillikin
      @PeterMillikin  Před 6 lety +3

      Hi Ian, Many people say don't wash it daily, but I do! In the morning and evening and use conditioner each time. My facial hair is super soft. People stop me in the street as they can see it is soft by the condition of it and ask me how! I guess you're stripping the beard of natural oils when washing it with shampoo, but use the right one that replaces oils etc. I believe it's healthier to wash it properly, especially as you might get food in it.

  • @Jess_Jones

    Anyone know how well this works for head hair?

    • @PeterMillikin
      @PeterMillikin  Před 6 lety +1

      I have used the beard shampoo on my head hair and love it. Depending on length, you'd need a fair bit to get a good lather, where as the beard doesn't need too much. Also, depending on the products you use, you might need a more designated shampoo. There are loads of decent ones and well worth investing in. I will try and cover these in a video shortly.

    How many times a day can you use the beard oil

    • @PeterMillikin
      @PeterMillikin  Před 6 lety

      Personally, I only use the beard oil after my shower in the morning. I then use a premium beard balm after the evening shower. In answer to your question, you can use the oil as frequently as you require but I think once a day is enough. Many people over apply and this almost makes your beard feel greasy.
