I disagree. When I think of “Passport Bros”, they’re “EXACTLY”, the same group, and type of guys, they are, in the US. Only now, they’re coming to Asian countries, and doing the exact same thing. There’s a “Passport Bro”, in Japan, that’s posted CZcams videos, bragging about doing it, over there. It’s only a matter of time, before he’s sleeping with the fishes…

Hi Rob, I enjoyed your information. Some folk are saying your estimates are too high but I disagree. There are other costs such as travel insurance, parking your car at the airport, buying luggage etc. It all adds up. And, if they meet someone the costs are going to continue. I'm off in Feb, March and April to Thailand and the Philippines to find a place to chill or 6 months of the year- and maybe meet a lady but I will leave that to chance. To all the men who are going to do a similar thing...I wish you all well, it takes courage to make such a move, and if you are like me...a widower or someone who has gone through a divorce or generally disillusioned with your life or country- this is my message to you: Don't think of the cost of doing it but think of the cost of NOT doing it! Regardless of the outcome you have chosen an adventure...as you would have done when you were a young man. You have my respect.

@@MichaelHawk1936 The budget I referenced for $125 per day assumes $75-80 per night for lodging. $200 assumes alcohol, daily excursions for two, transportation, restaurants and frequent moves between cities and countries. For example tour A el nido for two is $45 - other excursions in Thailand or Scuba will be more. I clearly stated that rooms could be found for 30-50 per night and if you adjust down from 80 per night you arrive at $100 per night.
80 per night baseline, plus excursions, plus night life /restaurants combined with frequent moves between cities and countries can easily add up to $200. My formula requires you adjust for lodging and alcohol.

Rob, the term "Passport Bros" was not meant to describe sexpats or sex tourists. It was originally coined as the Covid travel restrictions were being lifted, by black men on TikTok & CZcams who were suggesting traveling to other countries to get away from the toxic attitude of Western women who have unreasonable expectations from a man. The Passport Bros movement is intended to describe men who seek a more traditional relationship with a partner who are not feminist, self-absorbed, overbearing, combative partners. It has become a universal term for men of any race looking to find better a more accommodating, caring, compassionate partner.

My plan is to not entangle myself with women AT ALL at first. I want to go there, and "date" several locations, probably 8-10, for a couple months each, then decide which location I want to "marry" and make my permanent base. Only then will I put any effort into finding a significant other, and I'll probably try it the old fashioned way first, using online dating only as a last resort. That's not to say I won't go out for dinner or drinks occasionally with a woman if the opportunity presents itself during my "location-dating" phase, but it's going to be very far down my priority list.

I'm not knocking online as a method to find girls but I think it seems the PI is a place you could have better luck with the 'old fashioned way' than most places anymore. I also agree with your approach of finding the place first, THEN the girl from around there. Maybe some guys don't want to be as accessible to their wife's family, IDK? I think I'd prefer to allow my wife to have her family close by IF she wants that.

I'm 640 Days from a 100% Pension. I'll be 63... Two years before I'm eligible for Medicare. My plan is to travel [or whatever] for two years so I'll be on Travel Medical Insurance... I have relatives in the Philippines, friends in Indonesia & Malaysia. My plan is to spend a couple weeks in about a dozen areas of the Philippines that interest me. If I acclimate, I don't plan on returning to the US to live.

That’s awesome thanks for watching and commenting. I retired at 62 and traveled roughly 5 months a year and used travel insurance for when I was out of the country. Once you get to be 65 on Medicare you’re covered for the first 60 days 80% as long as you check into a hospital in the Philippines you can buy an insurance plan it’ll cover you for $30,000 US for roughly $1500 a year or $1000 and that 750 that’s of $15,000 US but yet you get reimbursed. The travel insurance will have a higher level of coverage. You should plan to budget roughly 5 dollars per day for the travel insurance I use a company called safety wise.

I wholly support your position. Always be prepared. Always plan. I met my Filipina wife in Hong Kong. We bought our first property in the Philippines a couple of years before we (she) decided to relocate (we have been together for 7 years and have children) and have since bought more real estate and have established a profitable business, as well as garnering income from renting out a couple of our properties. We came here more than prepared, with money in the bank, investments, as well as property. We planned for a couple of years. We didn't just come here with what seemed like a chunk of cash, which may seem a lot in the short-term but which will run out pretty quickly.

My advice would be to fly into Manila. Stay in Makati. Party with the pay for play girls for one week. Travel to Iloilo. Its a great city. Clean and developed. Not as noisy as Manila. They have great shopping malls and a board walk along the river. Great restaurants and bars. Explore the city and surrounding areas. There are some great little towns along the coast. Then travel overland to Boracay. Spend a week at the beach. Fly back to Manila for your flight home.

I’m leaving in 6 days for my third scouting trip. This one is to Bali for 10 days then on to Cebu. I’ve only booked 2 hotels for 3 days each. One in Bali to acclimate to the jet lag. Then I’ll determine where to stay based on what I find I’d like to do. When I leave Bali I also booked 3 nights in Cebu. I’ll do the tourist stuff and then rent a car and explore the rest of the island and ferry over to other islands. This trip is 25 days. My girlfriend is joining me at the Manila airport so she will be with me the entire time. This is the first trip with just ourselves. Should be a picture into if we are compatible for a longer period without the kids to entertain.

Whoa that's some expensive travel. On social security of $1,350 a month I go anywhere and always have a top rate girlfriend who I don't lie to. But where I stay is my home. I rent nice airbnb furnished apartments by the month and rarely eat out, mainly because that way I can eat healthier food. A good woman will be happy to do whatever as long as she can spend time with you, and she'll even discourage you from spending money unnecessarily because that's how she's lived her life.

GREAT INFORMATION !! I’m planning my trip to the Philippines later this year. I’m self employed but ready to retire and I’ve so much to sell and do before I can fully retire and stay in the Philippines for ninety days. I’m so anxious to come there so I was thinking of visiting first and venture around some to see what places I like the most. I’ve met a couple of girls online that I like but I’m not committed because when being online I can’t confirm if they are real or not. For me face to face meetings are paramount so I’m satisfied to meet other women while I’m there. I love the idea of coming to the Philippines first because of being able to speak the English language is very important to me. It makes more sense to take this approach first. Thanks again for your valuable well planned budgets. I’m more of a lover/explorer looking for a wonderful place to retire and fall in love with the right woman. BTW…how much cash should I have in my pocket to start with ? In the states I hardly ever have cash in my pocket for safety reasons. What do you advise about this ? Hope you will share your thoughts about this. Thanks again for this video and for all you do to help those of us wanting a better life in the Philippines.

Typically they have hundreds if not thousands of friends, and hundreds of friends. If only a few friends, pics that is probably only 1 of 5 of her profiles.

From what I've seen online and through other Vlogger's channels it APPEARS that one can get a decent room in most places in the PI for $20-$30 USD or even less. Now these aren't 5 star and on the beach but within walking distance to everything and I'd say nice enough to "entertain", if that's your plan, okay maybe not bring them back to the ones under $20 but for $30 oh yeah.

Hi, thanks for watching. Yes you can. I usually rent an Airbnb for a monthly rate usually 28 days will get you a good monthly rate and sometimes you can negotiate renting a monthly rate directly with a landlord can be something that’s possible but you might have to put a deposit down of one month or one and a half months which I’m not interested in doing because your chances of getting it back in a foreign country can be slim to none sometimes.

I like everything you 2 do. But I will disagree with some things but do appreciate your input. I think your pricing is a little to high, but that depends on you and what you find acceptable. I stayed in Cebu for less then $2000 a month. My first time there. $2000 a month is $66to $67 a day. Easily doable. You can spend more, no doubt about that but if you want to do travel for less it is easily doable. I stayed in a hotel for $24 a night. It was acceptable hotel. Got the hotel from a blogger who lives in Cebu and recommended it for a low cost hotel. I stayed in Boracay, my first time there as well for $32 a night. Not quite on the beach, just off the beach but again hotel was acceptable and came with an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet that was more then acceptable. Our last day I walked to a breakfast buffet on the beach hoping to maybe get a really nice breakfast buffet right on the beach but both myself and my girl agreed it was not worth paying for since we got a very similar buffet for nothing and it would of cost almost as much as our room with a free buffet for 2 people instead of paying for 2 people. Obviously you can pay more if you want to.
I book our flight to Boracay only 2 days in advance and it was $58 one-way for each of us, not double as you suggested. I did pay a little more but I thought it was more then reasonable. Same for Cebu, book little in advance and did not pay that much more, again I thought it was very reasonable. I suppose it is possible that depending on which airport you leave from the cost could be much different. I left for both flights from Luzon. Flying from Cebu might be different.
I've been traveling to the Philippines for 40 years so I do have an idea what low cost hotels are like, there are really good one's and some really dumpy one's, I try to avoid the dumpy hotels best I can. I was once with a very beautiful girl who said I don't care if we stay in a 1000P hotel when we went to travel. You really don't need to stay in $75 a night hotels or even $40 a night. Like you said in other video's, don't lead with your wallet. And especially if you are staying alone, no need for any higher cost hotel but we all have our vision of acceptable.
