    I just put a fairing on my Heritage. For the gap above the headlight I used the rubber gasket material used on the bottom of a garage door. Siliconed it to the fairing that way it stays with the fairing when I take the fairing off. Works great.

    Great video! I ordered the Reckless Motorcycles Batwing fairing for my 04 Road King Custom yesterday. After seeing it on your Road King, I'm so psyched to get mine in and get it installed. My doesn't have the 4 speakers, it has the two 6x9 RFs in it. Also planning some lower fairings for the crash bar as I hate the cuff my my jeans folding over while riding. I'll likely get those with speakers in them as well so that my wife or daughter will be able to hear the music better when riding 2 up

    Hey man. Great video series. Thank you for taking the time to do it. I am looking at this fairing from USA trailer store. I have a 04 Road King. I love riding with no fairing but on long trips want a fairing. How “removable” is the fairing? Is it as easy to use as the stock windshield? How long to you think it would take to convert from on or off? Thanks!

    • @kalways_kustoms
      @kalways_kustoms  Před 3 lety +1

      The fairing is certainly removable, as long as you wire it to allow for disconnecting. The only thing that takes a little time is the fact that I have to loosen and rotate the passing lights down to be able to get the fairing out. Other than that, it's fairly simple to take off. • @kalways_kustoms
      @kalways_kustoms  Před 11 měsíci

      It doesn't really "lock" on, but the top mount has to slide in and down so it really can't come off. With that, as well as the weight of the fairing and all of the audio equipment and how tight the spacers are to the bracket, it's actually a fight to remove it. Thanks for watching!

    • @kalways_kustoms
      @kalways_kustoms  Před 2 lety +1

      The reason I used that type of harness was for a quick disconnect feature. I could have used thicker wiring but I would have had to direct wire it. That and the fact that it takes up less room running through the bike back to the battery. Thanks for watching!

    If I posted this twice sorry cant find other comment on other video.
    This is EXACTLY what I was looking for is this a 2002 Road king? (only asking because of intake cover)
    I have a couple questions if you still own this kit with the bike. My Main question is if this system draws enough power to effect the charging system?
    I'm Assuming the kit mfg thought about this, but I wanted to know your thoughts since there arent too many doing this, And you are gonna have that knowledge of the nicpicks of owning it for a longer time versa the honeymoon phase of said bought item. I found a kit online looks just like this one.
    Another question I had is if you own one of those bikes the windscreen for my height creates a odd buffer of air between me and my helmet (can wear your damn neck out fighting it lol) with wind when on highway does this kit devert the wind better than OEM windscreen. (you answered this on last video Thanks! Commented early)
    My Last question is does it rattle loose over time lol... and I was gonna ask if that fiberglass cracked in anyway worst than it already did but I heard the comment in that video about the fiberglass (Ive watched most of the videos in this install) on last one now. Thanks a bunch for the entire install.

    • @kalways_kustoms
      @kalways_kustoms  Před 9 měsíci

      The bike is an 04. I still own it and ride it daily (when the weather permits). I have had zero issues regarding power consumption. No charging issues at all. I did have a Yamaha VStar a few years ago with the same exact fairing and the factory windscreen that comes with it. I did have some wind issues on that bike. With this one, there are none. But I attribute that to the scooped street glide shield I put on it. Made a world of difference. I haven't had a single issue with the fiberglass cracking at all. Not even the slightest spider cracking or anything. And it shakes right along with the rest of the bike....lol. Not excessively, though. Hope this answers your questions, and thanks for watching!

While they sound ok when the bike is not moving, but once at speed between the wind noise and exhaust note they dont sound very good when cranked up too much. What is the name brand of the speakers & the amplifier plus the stereo that you put on your fairing and any other videos do you explain where you have purchased all these stereo items

      In the first video, I go over the different components and where I got them. The speakers are Polk DB marine grade, the amp is a stealth brand amp, and the radio is a JVC marine grade. I bought them off of eBay. Thanks for watching!!!

    Why do u run a wire to fuse box

    • @kalways_kustoms
      @kalways_kustoms  Před 2 měsíci +1

      The wire ran to the accessory fuse so when you turn on the power to the bike it gives power to the radio. When you shut the bike off, it kills power to the radio. Thanks for watching!

      @kalways_kustoms a 15a mini fuse tap should do the same thing right

    • @kalways_kustoms
      @kalways_kustoms  Před 2 měsíci

      @DafieldProduction Because there was no fairing on the bike, there was no power at the front of the bike that I wanted to use besides the original accessory switch (was saving for future use). That's why I ran a new lead back to the fuse box.

    If it doesnt come with a fairing dont put a fairing on it . 🤷‍♂️just buy a streetglide

      I hear you. But if you don't have street glide money, this is a hood alternative. Thanks for watching.

    Can you do the same to my bike 2002 fatboy

    • @kalways_kustoms

      A fairing can be added to pretty much any bike. I don't actually do any customer work, but thanks for watching!

    Shouldn't do that to a Road king!!!!

      I understand your stance, but I much prefer this setup over having no fairing. And the road king is literally the same bike as the street glide, so why not? I was able to get the exact bike I wanted for a fraction of the price. Thanks for watching!
