As a bit senior to you guys , i want to say ,लग्न आणि मुलं याबद्दल एक point असा आहे ना की as Aishwarya said की medical sciences मुळे i can hve child at the age of 40 also. Yes thts true. पण मग त्यानंतर मुलं वाढवताना खूप दमछाक होते. आधीच hustle culture नी burnt out झालेलं असताना, मुलं वाढवताना खूप थकायला होतं. N हे कुणी ध्यानात घेत नाहीए. Money can buy many things but पालक म्हणून तुम्हाला जे करणं आवश्यक आहे ना त्याला option नसतो. N उशिरा मुलं झाली ना की त्यांच्या वेगाशी, त्यांच्या energy बरोबर जुळवून घेताना खूप दमायला होतं.
I am halfway through the podcast but I relate to Aishwarya so much. Thank you for sharing!! I was the person who got 90% and decided to do a double BA in two different cities. Moved to Bombay from Nasik for an MA in Linguistics. I used to teach German, hobby classes, etc. to support myself financially. I worked for 2 years in India and started PhD in USA in 2019. I was not able to travel home for 4 years due to COVID-19. I am supporting my separated parents from my stipend. Being in the USA feels luxurious to people in India but the struggle of living in other countries, racism, depression, and medical costs are something no one talks about. Pushing myself all those years till 2019 felt good but the last four years have been insane and there does not seem to be a way out. I don’t have supportive parents like Aishwarya has. But yes being strong, being mature is not great. Something I have realized is I don’t want to be rich I just need enough money to support myself where I won’t have to worry about the food on the table and roof over my head.

खूप छान episode आहे. या विषयावर खूप कमी बोललं जातं आणि त्यामुळे नुकसान पण खूप होतं. अजून एक मुद्दा मांडू इच्छितो की जेव्हा आपण दुसऱ्यांना मदत मागतो आणि आपलं काम सोपं होतं तेव्हा आपल्याला दुसऱ्यांची मदत करण्याची प्रवृत्ती वाढते, basically we try to put ourselves in their shoes. ती सवय होऊन जाते आणि आपण स्वतःच help offer करतो. हे psychologically खरं आहे का? आणि जर आपल्याला एकटेपणा वाटत असेल तर या सवयीमुळे आपण लोकांमध्ये मिसळतो असं वाटतं. दुसरा फायदा असा ही होतो की आपण मोकळेपणाने बोलतो आणि आपले problems share करतो, जे एकटे राहताना होत नाही.

Hustle is a fancy word Indian kids are using these days but the common colloquial/street word is “jugaad”. That’s what most self-employed people do. Everyone has their own hustle. Their own ways to create wealth. Neither is 9-5 the only best choice nor quitting and following passion. It is what best works for each individual. Having a side hustle is absolutely good if you can manage. Ends justify the means!
