"In an industry that's oversaturated"... but, a rookie group from a small no-name company with practically no budget can produce a catchy unique song just shows that the big companies are exploiting consumers and fans with generic recyclable music. the big companies have way more money and resources to produce amazing music, but they don't need to because stupid cash cow fans will support their favorite groups unconditionally no matter how generic and mid their songs are.
the irony is, if you point out how these labels are letting down their artists by producing weak music... the fans get mad, even though the same fans supposedly dislike these big labels for mistreating their favorite artists.
Yeah … I said this about a group a while back who dropped a title track and it was very generic and I said the company did them dirty cos it’s a lazy concept and in return I got a bunch of hate for it 💀 at the end of the day I don’t think pop exists without “generic” and I enjoy it too sometimes but I feel it ridiculous when people get upset for simply stating the obvious!
@@fifizappareacts those fans aren't about music, they are about being a part of the tribe. they're the same fans that think these artists are their friends and they know each other.
it's also why Kpop fans get a bad reputation, because a lot of them are delusional and unreasonable.
people with true appreciation for talent and music have expectations when they know how talented certain artists are. and, if the label produces anything less than that expectation, it should be considered unsatisfactory because we know how capable everyone involved truly is.
i'm getting a lot of heat for my take on Babymonster's debut, but based on their talent level, i expected a legendary debut and we received a mid debut that was a lazy mix of Jessi's Cold Blooded Ho type beat with typical YG/Blackpink dramatic transitions.
nothing memorable or catchy about the song, even after listening to it more than 5 times back to back.
the macaroni cheese song, as controversial as the lyrics are for their age group, is at the very least... catchy and memorable with viral potential.
if a no-name small company can produce a catchy song like that, i expect YG to produce a legendary debut song for arguably the most talented female rookie girl group to debut in Kpop history (XG is also reasonably in the discussion as "the most talented female rookie group" to ever debut).

Howl’s chorus really reminded me of Airplane Mode’s post-chorus by Fromis_9 like sooo goood
'Howl' is saaaaaur good. I guess those pads beats were definitely 80s-inspired, but overall, it's still very much just a traditional scandinavian dance song. My personal biggest gripe with the song is how short it is. There is no bridge and only two choruses.... Like...what? Where is the vocal slayage Chuu always delivers on the bridge of LOONA songs? Feels like a such a cop-out. And it's a recurrent issue throughout almost the entirety of the album. I hate hate hate hate that trend. Write a full song, cowards.
At first i felt it was a bit "lazy" (don't kill me Young Posse fans lol) because it was very repetitive with the title of the song. It was reminding me of songs like Yummy by Justin Bieber which repeated the word "yummy" SEVERAL times. But i will admit, Macaroni Cheese is definitely much more catchy than Yummy. I still think it's too simple but after listening to it at least 2 times, i was whispering the part "Macaroni Cheese Maca-macaroni Cheese" all day. I even made Macaroni Cheese the day after! Really made me hungry 😂
