I don't understand why they don't just sell pre-shaven berets. Literally everybody has to shave it so why not just sell it that way to begin with. I'd happily pay extra for a pre-shaven beret.
I never shaved mine. By regs you are only supposed to follow manufacturers instructions on caring for a beret. I have yet to see manufactures giving instructions on shaving a beret.

I don't know how many action military movies I've seen were the supposedly professional warrior is wearing beret that looks like a "Pizza Hat." Maybe that will change if enough people see your video. You guys can also buy manscaped trimmers. It won’t cut the beret trust me. It’s meant to trim the hair on your balls for a reason 😂 oh and then you can shave off the excess with a razor but definitely will have little to shave off left
Not sure how old but I starting wearing berets in 1993, we shaved them then for a cleaner look. I wore them for my 20 year career in the airborne infantry.
I wore my first Maroon Beret in ‘80, we never shaved them, over time the wool wore down anyway, we DID however, against regulations, shape them to our heads.
This is why WE did it in my unit: The newly issued berets shed fuzz, for weeks. You would have little fuzzballs on your uniform and you'd get sh!t for it. This was especially annoying if you had a buzzcut. The stubble on your head would pick up the lint and it would stick to your head. So we wet the berets, shaved them inside and out until we could see the weave, and formed them. No more fuzzballs.
Souldnt be a "MOS" badge, your talking about a branch insignia, thats on your top, the unit crest goes on the barret and you can just carefully bend it with a getter

You can buy pre-shaven berets...but you still will need to shape over time.

I got an unshaved beret because the base beret is $20 base but it costs an extra $30 to get it shaved

An electric trimmer works to get the big stuff off, then go in with the razor
