Hey Greg , I just wanted to say thanks cuz I want to get into Princeton and you’ve really helped me with the motivation aspect.
You've hit us with an awesome video once again Greg, great work! Maybe in another video, you can discuss research and internship opportunities for hs students, as in how they should create them for themselves. Great job with everything :)
Thanks Snigdha! I already have a great video on how HS students can get college-level internships, check it out on my channel :) Keep the ideas coming!
This video just gave me so much energy
Woohoo!
OMG! Never been so early!
I am so bored and I needed this! Thank you!
I’m only a rising freshman though lol
@@someperson5137 Haha glad I could help!
@@CollegeAdvisor hey...I wanted a copy of the checklist...but it says that my email address is invalid...pls help me out
Astounding!!! 👏👏👏
Thank you! :)
Thank you so much!! This helped me a lot. One question though, would colleges prefer volunteering over work because it’s closer to their definition of “service to the community”? I’m currently working but I can also squeeze in sometime to do volunteering, although it might be pretty stressful to balance that on top of studying for standardized testing and working on my college apps. Should I do it anyways?
Hey Greg Smith, what was your major at Princeton University (by the way, great and informative video!)
*IS his major, he hasn't graduated yet. If I'm not mistaken, major in Computer Science, minor in Music.
(I could be wrong about the Music, but I'm sure about CS).
Comment your dream university/college! Mine is Johns Hopkins!
Same!I'm going to apply ED to Hopkins
Dhruv Loya Me too!!
Are you an International student?
Uchicago
Devry
great video
Thanks Raiyaan!
I just really need to get better at math comps. I qualified for AIME this year and flunked it lol
Go for it!!
Would you consider humanities and business as the two passions I can focus on? Or are they too broad?
Where is the link for the Complete College Checklist Guide by Greg Smith?
My dream school is Duke!!
class of 2022 where you at
Great video! How old do you have to be to do your 2019 ivy mastermind? Because I am only 11 and I really want to go to UPenn but I feel that I am not smart enough. I want to be serious about college and start young
I would sign up for the waitlist and ask Janae, the head instructor.
Hi small 11/12 year old! If your scores on state testing are in the 95th percentile or above, you qualify for DukeTIP. Basically, your parents sign you up to take the psat or act (I took the act) and if you score above a certain point you qualify to take weekend classes, or go to a three week residential program to study at a college
Do u have Canadian kids in Princeton?? Also is there any way I can connect with you I’m a middle school kid going to high school in September!
Does volunteering count as much, or no?
Is working as a "CIT" for the summer alright, it mainly just a job that focuses on taking care of kids and other activities?
I also have 4 upcoming honor classes for freshmen year (English, History, Geometry, Biology)
Sounds great to me!
marinwood?
Hey Greg I wanted to apply but it said my email is invalid even tho it’s a valid gmail account
hi man another great video. how are you doing?
how many certificates will you take
@@clickdevice80 Doing well!
Hey sorry I am bit late watching this video but the sit is not working properly.......I can't submit my email
If i taught guitar in a school when i was 16 will help?
Greg I have a question. So I’m thinking about doing some summer programs next summer at some of my top schools. Let’s say my two dream schools are Stanford and Columbia. If I were to due like a 3 week program at Stanford, would that better or worsen my chances of getting to Columbia? Would Columbia feel like I prefer Stanford, so it’s gonna hurt my application, or are they more interested in seeing how I challenge myself and the level of programs that I do?
What did you finally decide to do? Did it help doing the summer program?
Ya let us knoe
I will do all!!!!!!!!😉😀
I am currently a Research Assistant for an economics Professor, but my interest is in govt./law. I will be a Junior in Aug, and the research is on racial, gender, and income inequality in the US. It's for her next paper. Is this an appropriate extracurricular even though it does not involve politics or law?
Francis Garcia how did you receive this opportunity or reach out?
Kaliber - Gaming I took a seminar course on economics at a liberal arts school nearby, I was really apprehensive at first, but the speakers really conveyed their passion so I began to be interested. This occurred over spring and then the course ended and summer began, so I reached out to the prof that organized it and asked if she knew any colleagues that needed help and at that point she offered me to work with her and I accepted lol; I worked on her paper throughout the summer and fall until Winter Break
class of 23 anyone?
Hey Greg, I know this is somewhat unrelated but currently after taking my psats I had a score of 1050, I am trying to raise my score to at least an 1160 so I could reach the requirements to sit in an sat prep class for the Princeton review. Any tips to increase my score by 100 in just a few weeks?
Nanzeebah Siddique yikes I’m a sophomore currently but I’ll be sure to review my maths since I pretty much forgot most of algebra and I’ll for sure study my grammar and reading a bit later on
Khan academy helped me into every my score by over 200 points so I definitely recommend it
Hey Greg, I am in a bit of an issue. You said in some video that it's good to start studying for the SAT when you're a sophomore, I am a junior, and want to start but I don't live in the US. And since I live in israel, my country requires me to serve in the army for about two years after I graduate high school. Is it too soon to start studying
*palestine
@@meryemabdulameer3700 oh shut up already. This ain't your war to fight. Deal with it.
chill look I don't care your Israeli but it's messed up if you support what your government is doing to those poor Palestinians now I apologize that I got political on an unrelated comment that was wrong of me but I just need you to know.
I’m gonna be working in a court over the summer. Is that okay.
Hey Greg Smith, I signed up for the checklist, but it's not in my my mailbox though. Is there another way I can get access to it?
hi! did you get it yet? i signed up for it too and i didn't receive it yet
I am junior and do not have much extra curriculars since I have just moved here from India. I am enrolled in 5 AP classes and have straight As. What do you guys think I should do ? Will having an educational youtube channel count as an impressive extra curricular ?
Who’s watching this at the end of summer? Lol
4:49 kinda have to though
hey, Just started watching your vids, im an eightgrader from iowa, could you send me the checklist?
I had a summer course with Harvard is that a good extra curricular?
Is it paid or free???
