I played my first game last night. I didnt know if Grunts had 1 Action or 2 Actions. Thank you for this playthrough! It helped me alot lol

Your play through is great. I love at how you really bring in the theatrical side of the game. You actually make me feel as though I’m re watching the movie again. I have just purchased every expansion with the core box. Can’t wait actually start playing the missions. You have actually helped me heaps in understanding the rules thoroughly. One thing about this board game I have really disliked, is actually putting all the miniatures together. It’s taken me hours to do so. I’ve never done that before, but they have come up good. Thanks again for your great in depth play through
This was so much fun! Was on the edge of my seat, they're inside the perimeter man, five meters, they're right on top of us!
Great playthrough. 1. You must remember the On Activation and Passive abilities of the characters. Riipey draws 1 and recycles 2 Cards on Activation. Newt can exhaust 2 cards to pull a character in LOS 2 spaces. 3. Frost reveals a card and with luck can recycle cards. All good. Its important in the later games because you will need to recycle as your firing a lot!

Seems much more complex than the Space Hulk, but fun and tense too; great edition btw, made it all more clear.
I choose Hudson as my main character:
"Game over man! Game Over!"

The only rule i think you missed is the flamethrower has the cumbersome keyword, this prevents it from firing in defensive fire, but in the game you always chose the pistol so you're good there.
Again Awesome play through, can't wait to see the next mission.
Also I want to say I love the name tags, its hard to follow characters in the game videos but those tags helped a lot.

Amazingly well done tutorial and video. I'm still confused by one thing, though, and that is Step 1 of the Finish Phase. I see that you don't do anything at all, but the rule book says "resolve any finish phase effect", and that "some cards have abilities that happen during this phase". What is that step, I don't get it all?
This is the first of your videos I’ve seen and I enjoyed it very much. I think maybe Newt should have made two moves away from everyone at the end of the first turn she was discovered as I believe she must ‘end’ her move as far away as possible, rather than never come closer during her move?
Also, cumbersome weapons cannot defensive fire, so you could not have used Frost’s flame thrower when aliens came through the barricade (you didn’t anyway though, so no impact on the game, but worth noting). Can’t remember if Vasquez’s smart gun is cumbersome too or not, but that may have impacted things. 🙂

When you revealed the vent blip alien, why didn't it attack right away?
Went looking for ep.2 but not yet posted? Ep1:The Search for Newt was such a smash win I expected Mission 2: The Trek to an Escape to be hot on the heals. Not to be :(
Where does it say that you don't draw motion tracker cards till turn 3? I checked the mission and the rulebook and couldn't find it?
Can you move a few spaces, do an action, and then finish your movement?

how do the board pieces compare to the Blackstone Fortress or Silver Tower pieces from GW ?
The board piece of this game may be a teeny bit thicker perhaps but feels roughly the same :)
As for the miniatures themselves, the plastic doesn`t feel brittle, feels like the Character minis could handle falls to the floor without trouble, though the Aliens might lose a tail here or there if dropped. Regular use though they`ll be perfectly fine :)

All characters within four spaces and in the line of sight get defensive fire.
Just like to say that if you hadn’t reviewed the game I wouldn’t have bought this and the expansion, or the models (why?)

you really should use the actual title of the game since there are several different alien board games. i had no clue which one this was and im looking up info on another glorious day in the corps. i wasnt sure what this was. i mean there is one called alien the board game or something close to that lol.

Seems like a massive swing in difficulty depending on which blip is Newt, if 1st easy mode if last insane mode ?
Looks like this Vasquez is as bada** as she was in the movie.
Overall the game from one side it gives some Space Hulk vibes (well... let's not pretend that SH was not inspired by "Aliens" movie) on other side it is quite different to be the game of it's own... Btw, are you planning to paint these minis?

@@swordnsteele712 Those are the games that got me into miniatures as a kid. They were released in 1989 and 1990. Absolute classics, pretty simple to play but that's part of the charme and enjoyment of playing them. I really wouldn't be surprised If heroquest ended up becoming a classic board game like monopoly or ludo are.

You get frost but not drake ?
Drake is in the'Ultimate Badasses' expansion' along with Apone, Dietrich, Crowe, Wierzbowski & Burke

@@Taterniac I agree, you need the full complement of marines. The 'Get away from her you b***h' expansion is also a must, it brings in the alien queen, power loader, Bishop & an extended campaign :)

You can barricade spawn points, you roll the Alien dice for each blip that would have spawned there to see if they break through.
