- In this one, we begin our adventures through Wyoming! We start out at a fantastic site loaded with colorful jaspers covered in fortification pockets! We found such an amazing variety of cutting quality rocks! After that we head on to the next site, where we found more colorful jaspers, deep green aventurine, and much to our surprise, outstanding banded iron! After these two sites we jump back to the shop to get a few closeups and cut into some of our finds. I hope you enjoy, and I will have another one out soon!

That banded iron is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The slab at 18:57, banded iron with hematite sparkles…WOW! Who needs diamonds?
Those are so freaking cool! And they were everywhere; and that stromatolite was amazing! And the banded iron was so amazing! And you found some amazing pieces! What an amazing trip! You and Kim got some awesome stuff!
Always something new to say “WOW” to and jaspers too, happy days.
You should get yourself a cheap, black bedsheet set up as a backdrop with a really good spotlight to showcase each piece for the video. It would help us all see the details and cuts much better AND it would probably help you get more views. Just my two cents. Cool rocks, man. 😉👍
I'll pitch in that a "daylight" bulb really lights things up for cameras, but-- it can add too much blue-- so some combo of daylight bulb and incandescent / halogen / warm LED bulb.. or edit the video to reduce the blue + make other adjustments is another idea..
Being from Western Oregon, banded iron is not something I get to see here - how gorgeous! When my wife and I went to Casper WY to visit her family, she hated the flatness and desolation and complained the entire time...I spent MY time picking up amazing new (to me) rocks from the road cuts and stream beds. I had a blast, but I also rarely looked up lol I had to buy a pair of cargo pants just for my walks.
OMG ~ The last banded Iron looked like Pet. Wood, honestly.. So Many finds.. WOW..
Dude score on the banded iron!!!
First, I appreciate your use of the word "scuttle". Second I have some incredible banded iron on my claim if you want me to send you some! Fun finds, beautiful shots, thanks a bunch!

Love that banded iron❤ sometimes when I see amazing stuff, my mind wants to stitch it together with other things I love. In this case, I instantly saw a trinket box with the lid inlaid in a mosaic of banded iron and various colors of tiger eye.
Oh my yes! Makers challenge!!! Where the viewers name the challenge!
We have a lot of jasper and banded iron in Wyoming.

It was your birthday present.😊
Awesome finds!! How do you find places like that? Michigan's upper peninsula has some cool banded iron too, that ive found.
That thar looks like rattlesnake counry mhmm!!
Theo's fortification count this week is 15 I'm pretty sure you used the word 15 times. It's not a bad thing though keep up the great work I love your content.
17 according to the transcript...
Howdy neighbour, (I wish) gettin' stones are we?
I can't wait to slice a pile of mine . I'm selling a boat to get a saw 😂 I have your answer to seeking better hematite swirls. If you want a great trip next year for banded jasper and add in some more rare gem stones we have in my stomping ground. Hit me up . But as support to you for what you do. Not inviting everyone else on your Chanel 😊.
Love the banded iron too! How hard would it be to carve it? Seems like it could make some beautiful carvings.
Uhh it’s Iron… so very hard!
Hey Theo - I have been searching for a place to find banded iron in Wyoming. I am in Northern Utah. Any pointers?
Where. In Wyoming are you?
Is that a dead critter at 6:44?
Nope… dried grass/cactus…
What do you use to clean the algae?
Soaking overnight in a dilute bleach solution will remove most organics.
What part of Wyoming Is this
Would the banded iron also be called iron tiger eye?
There’s a spectacular mixture of tiger’s eye and bright red & black banded iron, called tiger iron, from Australia.
@@canadiangemstones7636 thanks, I bought some at a rock show and had never heard of it before and it looks just like what Theo was finding.
I dont mean to be picky but Boytroidal? Rockhounds need to use the language properly. Its like neuculer and nuclear. Jus sayin! Great vid though!
I know no one wants to give up private spots, but can you say where you are ? Wyoming is a big state…I’m guessing you are on BLM land. I understand if you don’t…truly.
Looked like the Wind River Canyon area…
Nice stream@@janvafa9959
Its awesome and beautiful but its against federal law to pick up rocks or arrowhead s in any public lands or parks including getting arrowheads out of creeks and rivers. And rocks and fossils.
If it was not then all public places would be destroyed and empty. The rocks you take are technically mine and everyone elses that reads this.
You are NOT correct. I live in Casper, Wyoming... but, anybody can Google "Rockhounding Wyoming Laws" and the first thing that pops up is a direct quote from The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) official website. It reads as follows: "Rockhounding is recognized as a legitimate recreational pursuit on nearly all of the 18 million acres of public land in Wyoming. These public lands administered by the BLM are open to everyone to take limited amounts of rock material for noncommercial purposes without charge."
You are mistaken.
