This is definitely one of the most underrated movies ever. Seriously, how can anyone watch this and not see that these are some of the greatest CG-effects of all time. And the turtles have a wonderful sense of charm. Absolute perfection.
I actually loved this take on the turtles. The other characters not so much but the turtles were lit. The overall direction was also dope as hell. They were really enjoyable.
My biggest issue with these Turtles were the size and them being bulletproof. Just stupid, but the characters and voice acting were spot on. This group has one of the funniest and underrated Mike's.

The martial arts movements in this and fight choreography was awesome. I can’t believe people didn’t like this. Also I just realized this but the fact that Thad from blue mountain state was Ralph makes this even better lol
The tmnt guys actually kind shrunk in the 2and movie.. you can see them TOWERING over April when she met them in the rooftop when they first met but then Mikey became like 5'7 the same height as the mean police lady whole they were being awarded at the end of the movie when they're all standing together

For me, I love the mocap, I love the animation work quality, I love the character acting, I love the stunt work and choreography, I love the dedication with the technology, I love every technical aspect that had to be used to make the actors be like real turtles, I love everything about these turtles and 100% believe and wish we'd get another live action Ninja Turtles movie like this, but the one thing that ruined it was the character designs. That's the one thing they got so wrong and it absolutely tanked the movie. They were very hard to look at and i dont just mean like kinda eyesore you exposure therapy need to get used to, but like how complicated and intricate all the detailing on the turtles and what they were wear made them so physically hard for me to look at without my eyes sliding out of focus. There was just too much going on, i could never get a mental read on their whole bodies because it was so hard to focus on... and they shouldn't have been big. Like i know the intention was to make them look badass but they were just too big. They should have just been the actors's heights, that way they could actually fit in frame and i could tell what was going on. Seeing the real time acting with the guys in their mocap suits showed what could have been if there was something to focus on and i didnt have to stop and rediscover what it was exactlty that i was looking at. They really should have just stuck with the common through-thread of every other Turtle's design: Simple, varied, and on the smaller side. (the faces were just too off as well. why did they decide to put human faces on misshapen oblong heads? the faces were just so out of proportion with the head shape, Raph was the closest one to a proper ratio.)
All of the CGI Special Visual Effects in the Michael Bay-Produced Superhero Martial Arts Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Film Duo-logy Released from 2014 to 2016 are extremely very fake unrealistic and terrible compared to the original 1990 Superhero Martial Arts Film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which they used REAL Practical Special Effects like Animatronics & Puppeteers
I hate when they say that they grew up with TMNT.. yet when they made this movie they totally slept on it. Like whack job on the origins story and make Megan fox name the turtles?? Like realy?? And they learn ninjitsu from a magazine?? Wtf?? Other than that the action and cgi were very cool and the actors were good too.. and even in the 2nd movie they completely changed the shredder actor and did not even used him to his full potential. Such a rush job

Some say that these Turtles look like “Mutated Ninja Shreks” but I love these designs / movies.
