The last two races (6 & 7 in the timestamps) were the best for the most accurate "Random All" and "Random Select" experiences that you can get on consoles or vanilla GTA Online in general at the moment. It may not be close to the FiveM stuff but im glad you console guys can still get a good kick out of some randomness fun as well with the possiblity of the gamemode being added to the creator in future updates to further push the game mode further.

so prior to these coming out I made three predictions
1) really big open boring stunt race at 100% throttle
partly correct! some of these tracks are very full throttle, not a lot of skill tracks. what i did not expect tho was the chance of changing into planes, the track scale kinda makes sense for those bits
2) those face to face races where you avoid crashing into each other
partly correct! Race 3 in this video is just a wider face-to-face track
3) the job creator does NOT get any of these functionalities
100% correct! well done rockstar! I get wanted to get people to play these first and then _later_ releasing the functionality for creators to play with, but given Rockstar that's not a guarantee. Hope they do it tho
Obviously as a FiveM player I see this and think "not as good as PH" but for console players I'm glad they get to experience what random races can be like. Hopefully it comes to the creator so proper talented map makers can really experiment with it. _I wonder what the trackmaps of these look like..._
When Rockstar introduced Arena War, we didn't get access to create jobs in the Arena at the time. However, we got access to the Arena in the Creator during that update's dripfeed if I remember correctly. If they can give us the entire Arena for the Creator, then it's possible we can get these simple additions while creating Transform races
Yea i don't have a way to play 5m, but this is still doa for me. I don't mind the randomness happening in the middle of the lap, but including sea and air vehicles is a big turn off for me. As well as the lame tracks. Hopefully it comes to the creator so some good races can be made
I've been playing them for the last hour with my online crew. None of us have played PC random so it was all new and really fun.
Rockstar doing it halfa**ed as always just to claim they’ve done it, instead of doing it proper because it has been proven that it CAN be done properly. Thank you to all the FiveM devs and Broughy for highlighting it.
I believe the naming convention for these races is a nod to a conversation the player has with Agent 14 at some point (which itself is a parody of something Donald Rumsfeld said), though maybe I'm going crazy as I can't seem to find it anywhere...

It might come but not before like the next DLC at the very least. Again, it's crazy how Rockstar seems to have good ideas all the time but in the middle of it they decide it's not worth it to exploit the full potential and leaves us with disappointment
rockstar is almost certainly stretching gta5:online until gta6. you can all but surly expect adding this to the creator to be a future update to fill in "content". so that they can keep the illusion of regular updates going.
The thing about the general population's race preferences is definitely a thing. I still try quick joining random races sometimes and it's always just the same "checkpoints thrown randomly around highways" in supercars, or sometimes even sports cars. These races seem about right for what most players seem to enjoy. The other option is trying to host an actual good track, which nobody joins because the quick join is funneling everyone into those other races. Having some kind of proper lobby browser would be a massive QOL improvement for people not playing with a crew, so that you can actually see what is being hosted, instead of the phone randomly choosing something for you
Havent played for a year or so but that was my experience too, every quick join race was an awful straight line dash on the highway, and whenever Id try to set up a race on a more proper track I would either have noone join, or those that did would leave because they didn't know the track
I am so happy to be able to race on this one. I will log in to my ps4 as soon as I come home. Also nice to see some 1322 domination in public races.
2:05 yep, it was I who saw Inssomniak's random class mode and said "hey what if that but it was all cars on the server" and pushed for it. He then made it and we can only live with the consequences
That intro took me off guard
The downtown circuit is basically a Random Most, you can get all cars minus the silly stuff like the Military class. Looks like the Fieldmaster is the slowest available in this one.
But the two others are true Random Alls, everything is available from the Dozer and the RC Tank to the Oppressor MK2, which is a bit stupid considering the slowest vehicles often can’t make the slopes. They should have been made available on the flat downtown circuit instead, but I’m still very happy considering I won’t be able to afford a computer any time soon
Yeah its no suprise they saw all the Random alls and they were like "Hey we can do this also!"
I don't think I'd be able to contain my excitement if I was hosting a race of any kind and I seen Broughy1322 joining the race. 🤣 Looks like I might be playing GTAV again though, hopefully they add these races to creator sooner rather than later.
The reason it lets you swap cars when respawning is because it is possible to get a vehicle that physically cannot make the next checkpoint on some of these tracks. #JustRockstarThings
Honestly, that's just bad design... Why torture yourself with an airtug at all if you could just respawn and get something better?
One reason I could see they'd never put it in the creator is because they'd want us to have to validate with every possible car. It's not necessarily a very good reason, but I can see them thinking it is.
tbh that's why there's the "respawn to change vehicle" aspect of it already, because certain vehicles would make the lap uncompleteable even on the R* created jobs.

Any tips to get in populated road races? I joined thought the job option in the phone but is 8 player races with only 4 or the new random ones. Should I host and spam invite for x minutes?

When I originally subbed I think it was cause gta just came out and I mass subbed to a ton of channels. Forgot about the 1322 dude for the longest time until random all randomly came up in my recommended and have been watching since. I’ve even made comments on the video when I re found the channel 5+ years ago.

The description in the thumbnail tweet made it sound like a concept I have proposed several times.... But it isn't.
Think random select, but with all cars.
And instead of every player having their own list to pop cars off of. It's a single list shared between all players. But cars get popped off. So they aren't available to anyone else. Nobody gets the same car.
You win by getting most rounds untill the shared list is exhausted.

Dude, race track 7 is really enjoyable, and there is really a wide selection of vehicles than shown! Like the faggio or the habarnaro and even new DLC cars!

The switch of the radio stations isn't surprizing as the game has default stations for every vehicle
These have potential depeding on how (if) they are added to the creator. Creators could make them more like the PH one and just add a random checkpoint on the start/finish or go full chaos and put a lot of them. What is better is that we can now have officially Random Gfred :p
I was playing some races and I noticed that the kers visual effect will stay on your screen if you do it just before a transform checkpoint. I know there was a similar issue in the early days of random all but I think it was fixed by the PH team
not fixed its still a thing, just don't use the boost as you enter the checkpoint

Got a slow vehicle? Just respawn and get a new random vehicle.
No custom vehicles is anoying but sadly does make sense since no one can own ALL the options.

About how you expect it, hopefully they'll add it to the creator before the release of gta6. That should allow some great renditions.
I do get the "it should cater to everyone". But at the same time there are so many half-baked gamemodes that die after a week, that it would probably be better to satisfy a part of the community fully and develop other gamemodes for the others
In the first race you respawned from the Longfin to the Toro... So you can respawn for a quicker vehicle?
seems like it, i guess if people wanted to they could respawn to get a different vehicle but risk get something slower or get stuck in long respawns
Are the specific random selects always getting the same car selection, or do you get, let's say, a different set of military vehicles in every military race?
Yes. Known Unknowns Races always give the same cars, because there are a predetermined list of vehicles, you can't even change de number of laps of these races
Only Unknown Unknowns don't use a predetermined list of vehicles. You don't know what vehicle you will get and you can change the number of laps. These Unknown Unknowns races are much better than Known Unknowns in my opinion
I’ll give them credit when it’s due. Even if it’s too short, this checkpoint at 12:44 is the only time where I can race a Valkyrie in a Casco, something even PH doesn’t provide. Not better, but different and certainly more goofy . Although the fckin Alkonost is in the selection, and it doesn’t pass through the rings. Because of this and the slower vehicles available, you have to be strategic in your respawns. Do I have to continue in this meh car until the next checkpoint or do I respawn trying to get something better, at the risk of black screening, being overtaken, and getting something worse ?
My worry is will rockstar want to now intervene on fivem like they have done previously with other things?

The races are fun but still not quite the random all we need on console.
the intro for the very first random all got me thinking: Why didn't you do as many tier specific random selects?
because there's more ideas than just "x tier/x class random select" and Brough like to change things up -- not saying he'll never do this but he wants variety + not limiting himself to only vanilla cars
@@DiNmiTe Oh I didn't mean just the tiers from the website with only vanilla cars. From what I understand Project Homecoming's classes are also balanced towards each other and could make for competitive random races, right?
Also didn't mean to say there weren't *any* of those Project Homecoming Class random races, just in comparison to random alls, regular random selects, random pain/sporty/non-toxic etc, the yearly randoms and other "pre selected custom class" randoms, in my opinion the random races in balanced classes (and generally the feature of Project Homecoming's balanced classes) are coming a bit to short, but maybe that's just me.
If I am correct the last tier/class specific random was the Random More №46 from three years ago, even though that included two classes.
@@KommandoCraftLP oh you mean the pace classes -- tbh the pace disparity isn't a lot so you wouldn't get a lot of action, arguably similar to Random Select In Order (everyone gets the same cars in the same order) and you don't get a lot of position changes from that. He does host normal races with the pace classes but rarely do they make it to CZcams
I guess an idea could be using 1 car from each pace class, make a custom class, then host a Random Class -- but yea this requires setup work :D
@@DiNmiTe I did think of the low pace difference for it (just like Broughy in the clip) to make for interesting competitive randoms where the current position is actually the real current position, but you'd have to adjust to the smaller differences in handling during the race.
But then again I guess they might be too similar to just a regular race from that pace class.

Doesn’t this open up the possibility of a true Random All Gfred?
Once again, Rockstar takes a great idea and destroys it. So many spawns of vehicles that are incapable of completing the section of track you're on. 20 second respawns.
The only thing that disappoints me is that you can't use personal vehicles. Other than that, here's hoping they create a new race mode within Open-wheel races, that allows us to use other vehicles classes with tire ware and different traction levels based on your vehicle's spoiler.
It would be nice if we could use personal vehicles but without upgrades. then again, its just 7 races.
the different traction levels based on spoiler is something that is baked in to the vehicle itself, not the game mode
@@Johnny362000 Most vehicles have the same level of downforce applied when equipping a spoiler, but every Open-wheel vehicle has a different level of downforce applied to each spoiler when in an Open-wheel race.
@@wingblade6023 I know how the open wheelers work, but that mechanic is not just in open wheel races and is, as I said, baked into the vehicles themselves. Every front bumper and spoiler part is manually assigned a downforce multiplier and the mechanic requires a certain advanced flag to be active to work.
@@Johnny362000 Right and if they allow other vehicle classes to be used in Open-wheel races, those are the mechanics that I'd want to experience. I swear this game could easily give Forza a run for its money, but they seem too afraid to compete.

I'm glad you're still uploading content while you're taking a break from Gfreds. I'd been resorting to watching them on the RBS channel, where he berates anyone who gets in his way. He's a talented driver, but the verbal attacks on other players when half of them haven't done anything wrong at all, is a bit much. Sometimes he's even the one who's driving on the wrong side of the road/track. Someone should tell him that Gfred is for everyone, not just him.

@@DiNmiTe well I don't think any of it was really necessary, it's just my rant. The guy behaves as though everyone else needs to move aside and let him through, and gets pissed off if they don't. I'm pretty sure that's not remotely the Gfred spirit.
I kinda like the update, don't think the races Rockstar made were very good. But a taste for those who do not have the FiveM option.
why R* dont just ask the creators to make some proper tracks for these game modes i will never know.
I did like Race 5 with the different routes depending on what car you have - i would like to see that more on the random all's if its possible.
I still hate how long the transform animation is in the game - you cant see anything
regarding the track, ultimately depends on whether someone submits such a track that meets the quality standard -- multiple people have shared concepts of a "multi-route" race but most looks very below par and incomplete so we do not add them
@@DiNmiTe Yes its not the easiest concept to pull off with the tools we are given and the GTA map itself is not easy to use either to create such routes.
It still blows my mind how great some of the tracks are that the creators make.
The Non-raceable category on the test series seems kinda not true anymore...? Name it "special races" or whatever?
it "hasn't been true" ever since Transform races are a thing, but since those vehicles cannot be used in normal races, they will keep the "NON RACEABLE" tag in class tier lists

I played this today and I transformed into a blimp in the middle of a tight race road. Immediately exploded over and over again.
Don't see why you wouldn't be able to put the transform checkpoint as the first or last checkpoint so it's basically lap based.
I mean that’s what one of the races here does
People have to realize that there is a goooood chunk of Online players (even on PC) who have no knowledge of FiveM, and this is their introduction to random races. These races are aimed at catering to as many people as possible, and I would think there are more people who don't know about FiveM than there are people that do. It would be wrong to criticize everything about these races in comparison to the FiveM Random All/Select because they're aimed at different crowds.
