As someone who's never read the comics, I went through a bunch of emotions, thinking mysterio was the good guy and stuff
Oh I knew he’d be bad the moment they called hem Mysterio
Dam that must’ve been fun, hell I’ve read the comics and for a solid twenty minutes I wasn’t sure if they would actually make him evil or have him be a hero to subvert expectations

Kinda wish Mysterio had been brought back for Spider Man: No Way Home; that way it would have been an actual Sinister Six movie. Out of an entire multiverse comprised of infinite realities, I'm sure more than one Mysterio knew Peter Parker was Spider Man. And when the other villains rely on tech (Green Goblin, Dr. Octopus) or genetic mutation (Sandman, Lizard and Electro) this version of Mysterio could have actually been a sorcerer rather than an illusionist; one who could have been a threat to Dr. Strange and try to stop him from using the spell that would send them back to their realities where they died while the other villains tried to take on the three Spider Men.
I see what you're saying, and that does sound really cool.
Although, if it were me? I'd rather have seen Michael Keaton as Vulture make a comeback as the sixth member. He knew Peter's identity before the Mysterio fiasco.

Honestly Mysterio was good and you could see his evolution into the rage fueled man he is essentially becoming Tony Stark the way he envisioned
He was not good his motivation was pure revenge and wanted every to forget about iron man he didn't care about the damage and death that came with it he just wanted to be known

Literally for the first half of the movie I was confused cause I’m comics he’s a villain but then they revealed he actually was a villain

Electro falls under that banner as well, but a little more so. Mysterio’s motive was more revenge driven noticed than Electro’s just wanting to be somebody. Mysterio’s final goal really was to be an avenger pretty much. Electro has that scene where he first gets his powers in times square and he doesn’t understand why people are shooting at him, but then he sees his face on the billboards and reflects on whether this is so much worse than his actual life. When he believes that Spiderman set him up he throws away all hope of being normal and embraces it. Mysterio has no such moment however and is much more ‘evil’ than Electro ever was.
@@thesausageman5388 yeah Mysterio just wants revenge cus Tony ditched his idea, and called it BARF, and by doing so he stopped him from becoming famous. So he just wanted to be famous

**SPOILER ALERT**
Which is why he isn’t in No Way Home. Because all of the villains in that movie have something there to be cured or to be helped. Electro needs to be de-electricised and has to willingly give it up, pushing his arc to a place where he finally accepts himself for what he is. Lizard has the physical ailment of being a lizard and belief that he is not good enough. Doc Ock is taken over by his arms. Green Goblin has split personality disorder. Sandman is again physically sand and to an extent Venom itself is what is the problem with Eddie Brock.
