- April 2, 2012 - Colin Farrell talks with Ellen about his new movie, Total Recall, and then talks about his true passion, his two sons, James and Henry. Colin shares a personal moment with Ellen about his son James who has Angelman Syndrome. Angelman Syndrome is a neurogenetic disorder that affects one gene on Chromosome 15. Children born with Angelman Syndrome generally suffer from severe cognitive delay, difficulty with basic motor skills, speech impairment and restricted mobility. They are often identified by their captivating smiles, enthusiastic laughter and love of water. To find out more or to donate to ongoing research, please visit www.cureangelma...
God bless his son. What a courageous Hollywood Star. I have a son with severe autism and epilepsy and it's great to see people bring awareness to special needs children.
I hope your son is doing better, and that goes for Colin's son too. He is such a good dad.
Autismwarriormama yes. I too have a 24 year old daughter with autism and epilepsy. Thank God for celebrities that bring these disorders and beautiful children to light 🧩
I have mild autism
Thank you Colin, I'm a family doctor and I learnt something new today. It takes a great deal of humility by a celebrity to share that to create awareness among the public.
Colin is a beautiful heart and a wonderful dedicated dad !
I work with a man with this syndrome and he is a delight to be around is happiness is infectious 🤗
Brittany Jackson Same. I look after two guys in our housing group and the guy with Angelmans is very rewarding to work with.
It took 5 years and tons of doctors telling us he was "just delayed" and "has autism" - to discover that our son probably has Angelmans. His teacher told us about it, we'd never even heard of it. Seeing and hearing Colin describe it is amazing, it's exactly what our son is like.
For how long have you been a fan of mine Heidi??
He sounds like a very careing, understanding, lovely, and amazing person....I would give anything to meet this funny and HANDSOME fellow.............I Love You Colin Farrell.
Love,
Katie
This makes me cry, Colin is an amazing dad xx
LOL, love how he says the paparazzi come in handy every now and then b/c he has great family photos taken. Too funny!
I love how he is so genuine and isn't desperate for fame
I could listen to him laughing ALL DAY LONG! The cutest sound ever!!!!
we had a first son has a angelman syndrome too.we just found out few days ago.it was really hard for us but we have to be strong and positive.he was amazing and adorable baby.he was 1 yr old and 2 mos.
Thank you Colin Farrell for spreading awareness of Angelman Syndrome and the clinical trial!
Colin, I am so impressed with your attitude about life and your son. Best of luck moving forward. Ellen loves you!
This what make Colin a real man and he has big heart for children with special need and not to mention he love both his boys and so people shouldn't be bad mouthing him

God bless him....he is such a lovely dad 💕
Colin is such a strong amazing father and man. God bless him!
"He cut his own strings" Colin has a way with words.
I worked for Chime for nearly 5 years and their inclusive model education is a great example to other schools
It's all good that ellen is spreading awareness about this syndrome. My brother has it but there's another side to every story. The public and parents in general pay so much attention to these children, and I'm not sayin that is bad but they fail to notice what the siblings of these children go through.
arielle cababat perhaps you could write a book about your experience of being a sibling of disease, syndrome etc.
I am sure there are many who could benefit from your first person look of the other side of this experience.
Absolutely Arielle.
That's a big problem in many families where one child has a disability or an illness. The other children need attention and care too. Maybe there's an online support group for siblings??
@@pazza4555 hopefully
wow he is just so great love him xxx
Yo, I actually went to school with his son throughout elementary and middle school. I hope he’s doing well :)
so cute!
lucky little boy... his dad is willing to do anything for him!
I met the scientist responsible for a lot of the research and development of the treatments today in a biology seminar at my college. He's really unbelievable and trying to go worldwide with his treatments and research. They've had good results with the drug therapy they're using right now so hopefully soon there will be a viable treatment option available for people and children who suffer from this genetic disorder.
a bright light in people’s lives 🙏❤️🙏
A beautiful person through and through.
he really illuminates God bless you
My daughter has Angelman syndrome and she is currently 8. It’s been a really tough journey for me and still continues to be especially not having that much resources to support her with.
It is a very tough journey for sure. My son has AS and is almost 8. You're not alone. ❤❤
Woah, Colin's quite adorable!!
Ellen and Colin seem very warm towards each other always touching hands etc. they must be real good friends off screen, two decent people whats not to like about them
Thank you so much Colin Farrell!! No one really knows what AS is and now you have done this you have helped to raise awareness of Angelman Syndrome! I have a 11 year old brother who has AS and no one knew what it was! People used to take the mickey but now you may have helped to reduce that and help me and others in the same or similar situations! Thank you!
Colin you are beautiful inside and out!
I'm really happy for you! I hope they find a cure and your brother does fantastically well :)
my son, Scotty also has Angelman Syndrome...met Colin at the FAST Gala in Dec 2011 cant wait to see hiim again this dec...scotty is one year older than James and was also misdiagnosed with cerebral palsy at first as James was....my son was 7 when finally correctly diagnosed..I believe James was 4
Colin is wonderful
I sure hope the clinical trials are successful!
This man is incredible!!!So talented, very sexy and such a good dad!!
Chime rocks. My 8 year old was just watching the clip behind me and said "hey, I play basketball with James!!"
I liked the new total recall.
How she switch the subject in a second... -_- "Yeah yeah yeah, your movie, interresting, yeah, for sure, the movie... But no one care, no one's gonna cry with that, let's talk about your son instead !"
There is no inclusive ecucation in Ireland. Hopefully youtube will let me post the information about Special Needs Day in Ireland, Sept. 15 th I think, Colin will be the keynote speaker in Dublin, the televised event will be held in Phoenix park, with U2, Westlife, Boyzone and more.
oh my god i love you do much this is so touching you are my biggest fan
I went to school with James
My sister just turned 18 she has Angelman Syndrome
Be strong Anita; you will need the 'patience of a saint', I can tell you are full of love for beautiful Liam.
aww thanks so much :)
Worked with a woman with this syndrome. She is LOVELY :)
i have adaughter tat has angelmans syndrome her name is lacy and she is 22 yrs.old
jennifer fleischman God blessings to you and daughter❤
Colin seems very down to earth which is wonderful. Unfortunately this can not be said about Ellen. She just keeps talking (actually more chit-chatting) on a very superficial level, not really taking time to get deeper into the things her guests say. And she constantly tries to get the spotlights back on her with her so-called funny remarks, gifts, dance moves, etc.
Key Bern
I'm not exactly understanding what you mean. Ellen is a comedian who works to help many. Obviously she can't help all.
In your comment you state the he's great but watch Ellen get cameras back on her.
1st Ellen isn't doing the camera role.
2nd He's a lovely man who undoubtedly is funny too.
A comedy show is focused on the comedian and a show she owns. Watch the Daily Show, Tonight show,..... find a show that the host isn't framed by the host. They see time and signal to slow or increase time. They must bc they are the professional ones getting to different topics.
Great video. I have a friend who has angelman syndrome
My son angle as well
I like that theres a show with my name in it. :)
♥♥♥ A great daddy because a great boy ♥
He sounds nice:)
My Daughter has Angelmans too; she brings joy and happiness to all she meets.
Its a GENETIC Neurodevelopmental (like autism, downs syndrome etc) disorder not a disease or illness. I know Americans like to think everything can or will be 'cured' but ...........please stop. YAWWWN
My granddaughter has Angelman's Syndrome. How do we find out about the clinical trials for the cure?
A true Adonis
wow WELL SAID!!
Lmao didn't anyone else notice at 2:50 Ellen turns to Clon to let him explain the clip but he turns away.& ignores her so she just plays it with no explanation.
He is extremely beautiful 😍
This guy is amazing and so gorgeous. Ellen can't even appreciate properly a kiss from him that's not fair he should kiss me!!! lol
He looks a lot skinnier
He says he got picked to take part in an Angelman's Syndrome clinical trial for a "cure". It's probably a trial for a new medication or therapy for associated symptoms. A cure would be a reversal of the chromosome deletion that causes it, which is impossible.
Correct. It's often several studies contained in one study. If change begins the study drifts to that particular behavior or medical care is pulled in by assuring nothing is life threatening. The goal is always the child's well being and studying them also contains an antecedent- behavior- result.
They cured it in a mouse. Its just basically " Turning on" a Chromosome that is currently " off"
nope
What make you say that?
❤️
❤💯
Will say like Ellen in episode of Roseanne
I thought he was American. I didn't know he was Irish
never had i wanted to be a lesbian more than seeing Colin Farrell kiss Ellen. And not to mention she has a great friendship with JT...so jelly
Yes... I hear Colin's in the labs day and night working on a cure... :S
Ill take this first comment :)
The medical model society wants to cure absolutely everything nowadays even disabilities
good
I think Colin is high during this interview.
