I'm so glad this was the first comment I saw. I was just about to write a comment on the revolting state of high end fashion. What's wrong with designers? They're absolutely clueless.
They work beautifully with fashion when you have a designer that appreciates and understands the female form and is confident in their own field rather than trying to be seen as an artist, if thats what they want to be than go paint or sculpt and stop making women look ridiculous just to massage their own egos! and ladies stop playing the designers games male or female!
It's a model's job is to be a walking coat hanger, they're not intended to be the focus of attention at a fashion show. The people are there to see the clothing not the models, and they want to be able to visualize themselves, or their clients, in the different garments as they see the models walk by in them. When these clothes are worn irl, the person is supposed to be the focal point and the dress is meant to compliment them.
Can we go back in time to “Rear Window” and “Casablanca” when dresses made women absolutely gorgeous? So, tasteful, so elegant back then. These dresses are …not impressive and that’s being kind.
It's enough to watch the original Ugly Betty telenovela and see how modern fashion is supposed to look. Especially in the episode where "el cuartel de las feas" are presenting a line and it's literally for all ages, heights and body types. CZcams it to cleanse your palate after this freak show LOL.
These designers must sit around laughing themselves silly at how they got people to buy these ludicrous and laughable dresses. There may have been only a handful that were really nice and then some of those looked awful on the celebrities because they didn’t flatter their body type. And what’s with the models? They all look miserable.

Catherine choses clothes that work with her body shape and height. Unfortunately a lot of these celebs wear clothes designed for a 5' 10" model when they are only 5' 3" and 30 pounds heavier. If I were a person who had to walk red carpets, I would presumably have enough money to hire a professional atelier to make me bespoke clothing designed to fit my size and shape.
Or perhaps these celebrities mirrored themselves in luna park' s house of mirrors, so they looked taller and slimmer ? And I agree, those expensive dresses are a waste of fabric or Carnival costumes.

Reminds me of an old “I LOVE LUCY” episode where Lucy and Ethel wanted the very expensive designer dresses that looked like potato gunny sacks and Ricky had fake ones made and they couldn’t tell the difference. ❤ and wore them proudly.
The vast majority of these dresses are somewhere between “huh?”, “what were they thinking”, and “WTF”. And for these rich stars, with stylist, to pick most of these, egads! A few looked great. But most, the dress distracted from the actress.
The difference between the models and the star's is the star is on a healthier diet while the model is starving themselves for the next show. I mean those designers want their creations to look like it's on a hanger vs the health of the model.
The Chanel gown on Penelope Cruz looked like something out of a middle school sewing class (fabric choice). Catherine Deneuve - a beautiful woman in something totally awful for her.
And how about Meryl Streep...yikes! Looks like she put on a lot of weight but I know she hasn't. The more mature actresses seem to be choosing from clothes for much younger women.

Most of these so-called designs don’t look good on anyone - not to mention the fact that they are not fitted properly on the celebrity. No matter who designs the garment, wear a garment because it is flattering and makes you feel beautiful - not because of who designed it.
I noticed that in some cases celebrities discarded important accessories models wore and which created focal point and half of the look's attraction. So, no wonder on celebrities the outfit looked plain, unstylish and unflattering. Not always though. Some of the stars actually have taste and they look as good as the model.

I like about 10 dresses in the whole bunch . Why do all the designers have to make their dresses look so weird and outlandish. My Mom used to say I wouldn’t wear that to a dog fight. The women are also fairly grotesque with a few exceptions,. The "slebs" are disfigured by cosmetic surgery, dollops of make-up, fake t its, mainly outside the outfits. Disgusting, exibitionistic and vulgar. Yuk.

The actresses won’t have paid for the items they wear and therefore don’t get much of a choice. The couture lines are usually adapted for their customers for actual sale anyway.

Because of hanging boobs and fat thighs, in comparison with models that have none. Also, models are wearing undergarments, while celebs, for some reason, skip this element of their outfit.
Unfortunately, many curvy girls look trashy because they are not wearing undergarments or wearing too small dress size. When your boobs are hanging out or look like they will break out of fabric in the next 3 seconds, this is the opposite of looking good or being classy.
It is sooo atrciously obvious how the dresses are BIGGER! They are not fitted to the body types and shapes at all. tio fit bone thin women, and just because a name is stuck on it, a woman will buy it and wear it to impress. I have made dresses that fit my body and style waaay better than half of what I saw. Honey, I hate to tell you this, but every dress company makes bigger dresses by simply cutting them bigger. I have boutght shirts that in a size 5, they fit someone well. Bought the same shirt in a size twelve, and my arms flap around in the yards of fabric and gigantic hole they call an armhole. half the time, my boobs are trying to fall out. Just because it's expensive and has a popular name slapped on it does NOT mean it will look good on you. Half on==f those dresses weren't even the same fabrics or colors the models wore. Granted, several looked better on the woman than the model, And what it with the yards of fabric in these ungodly ruffles and spikes everywhere? Just because the price tag has a lot of zeros does not mean it looks good on you. And take someone with you who will tell you the truth about how it looks. The one Lady Gaga was wearing (red leather?) suited her very well. And Julia Roberts looked nice and pulled together in both of the shorts outfits. But she has such a glowing smile, it overrides a lot.

Models wear dresses different ly from celebs and movie stars. Most of the dresses are fitted for a tall very skinny young girl and movie stars are not tall leggy models they. mostly appeal through their personalities. The dresses don't fairly represent them although some celebs nicely fitted the dress and brought it out.Therr was a day when I modelled and could wear anything. I think we have to remember the age differences between the models and celebs. I really liked all the fashions. The women looked beautiful in them.
Amazing that those celebrities who workout daily and are so tiny can look heavy next to those waifs of models. But seriously, what about most of those outfits caused the celebrities to think they looked good on anyone?

On the younger set it looks fantastic. Even Anne Hathaway looked like mutton dressed as lamb as Naomi. In my honest opinion Lindsay Lohan takes the crown, despite her setbacks but then that is what it is, that experience adds to her allure, plus it helps that she has a fashion body, slim and proving amply endowed doesn’t mean you can’t be fashionable (Heidi take notes). Lindsay is a true fashion creature.

Many of the outfits were not the same
they feel special but most of them look like actual clowns for our entertainment...
The one Lady Gaga was wearing (red leather?) suited her very well. And Julia Roberts looked nice and pulled together in both of the shorts outfits. But she has such a glowing smile, it overrides a lot.

Models wear dresses different ly from celebs and movie stars. Most of the dresses are fitted for a tall very skinny young girl and movie stars are not tall leggy models they. mostly appeal through their personalities. The dresses don't fairly represent them although some celebs nicely fitted the dress and brought it out.Therr was a day when I modelled and could wear anything. I think we have to remember the age differences between the models and celebs. I really liked all the fashions. The women looked beautiful in them.
In most cases the celebrities improved the look. However, some of these dresses were absolutely insanely ugly. A few were gorgeous.
It's not that they're worse or better, it's that they're different!!! Colors, cuts

On the younger set it looks fantastic. Even Anne Hathaway looked like mutton dressed as lamb as Naomi. In my honest opinion Lindsay Lohan takes the crown, despite her setbacks but then that is what it is, that experience adds to her allure, plus it helps that she has a fashion body, slim and proving amply endowed doesn’t mean you can’t be fashionable (Heidi take notes). Lindsay is a true fashion creature.
