- Firstly I apologise for the long video but I had a lot to fit in here.
Having bought over 150 football shirts from Classic Football Shirts I thought it would be a fun idea to purchase one of their mystery boxes. Especially seeing that I am foraying into the curious world of mystery boxes. Unfortunately there was an uncharacteristic error that resulted in the box being a total write off. Hope you enjoy the video.

Very possibly my friend. Was worth a try but it hasn't worked out great for me unfortunately. Maybe others will have been luckier.

Mystery boxes are a complete waste of time, as for CFS I've always found their customer service excellent, as you've displayed in this video with their detailed fast reply with both the dm & email response, moral of the story, don't buy mystery boxes, just shop in their clearance section which is brilliant btw

That Dallas shirt was listed on M&M direct a while back at £16.99 and still have s and xs in stock. So even that didn't even really tick the £19.99+ value of the initial requirements CFS set their selves. And even at their price, with the current 20% discount code it literally only just falls into that margin aswell. When they first posted about them I was tempted but really glad I didn't go for one now.

Looks like these companies just give any random cheap unwanted shirts and send them off for a high price, feel like they hide behind the “MYSTERY” context to avoid any criticism.

You are absolutely correct there I think mate. It's a dangerous game though for the ones that are doing it as something extra to their normal service. It might dilute their brand.

I swear, if that looks like what I think it is, absolutely horrendous value for money. I mostly shop at the nearest Value Village since nearly 0 stores in Canada are dedicated to jerseys. If I can spend a combined $8 on 90's England top and a 90s Manchester United kit, I can get a t-shirt for less?
Yeah not great value here mate. I have a friend in Canada and he imports his jerseys in from Germany as that is where he moved from. Some great bargains you have though!

Mystery boxes are an absolute scam. Companies get rid of dead stock they can't sell and people on ebay and depop buy bargain bin shirts or fakes and sell them at ridiculous profit. If you want a Mystery shirt give someone your budget and tell them what to avoid, what size you, then see what you get

I mean there’s a company called mystery football kit co. And I’ve bought 2 boxes from there and got this seasons marseille home shirt and valencia away. Both are worth over what I payed, I payed 35£
@@iggaaaa7467 that makes no sense from a business point of view. If the shirts are worth more then why are they selling them for cheaper. Sometimes people do get good shirts but most people get shirts that are no where near the value of what they paid

About the Dallas shirt -
With a retail price of $90 on the tag, that is the Stadium (Replica) version. The Player version (Authentic) would have had a price of around $120 that year.
A quick search on eBay shows they list between $25 and $50 NWT in the US.

People give stick to cfs but everyone knows that mystery boxes are full of dead stock, at least cfs put socks, shorts, posters etc in because most mystery boxes just have a shirt worth half the box

Classic football shirts have possibly been the worst company for mystery boxes. I bought a classic mystery box a month ago and received the worst shirt I have ever purchased. An Eintracht Frankfurt shirt with a mouldy sponsor. Awful

If you Google the 2014/2015 goalkeeper shirt then I believe that was the shirt they received. 👍
Think I would have been underwhelmed with that box. I bought my first mystery box from calcio cases, which I received yesterday. Received a 2020/21 Fiorentina home shirt, an A4 soccermap of Italy and a pack Italian panini stickers. Was pleased with that.

That's just a regular replica shirt, the authentic shirts retail for about $120-$130. Also FC Dallas make some of the most boring football shirts in the MLS lol

Not sure yet if you have but check out mystique jerseys. Their boxes are fantastic plus their is a box under the order where you ask for what you want/don’t want. Used them twice and currently waiting for a third and all I asked for was nothing UK related.

Hey mate. Those trading cards are only available directly from Classic Football Shirts themselves (I believe). They usually insert one with every shirt purchase you make.

Ouch , I bought one from football kitbox got arsenal ankle socks , a Jamaica tshirt and an avai fc shirt from the Brazilian 2nd tier 😳, never bought one again

Addidas player issue shirts have a heat pressed addidas logo and club badge, the size is also in numbers not letters.
For the top top teams yes.
Every other club that has adidas wears what you buys in the shops.
Hi mate, i bought a mystery box a few months back and got a Man United t shirt, Bury FC Shorts and a pair of mitre socks. For what i paid i felt robbed. Never have bought one again since.
I feel your pain. Honestly since I've started doing this I've not seen many people give many neutral reviews, let alone positive ones about mystery boxes. You do best to stay clear of them.

I got the ‘classic’ mystery box from them last month. sent me a chengdu blades shirt, a club which was formed in 2006 😑 classic

It’s such a shame we don’t have a logo on our shirts cause our club is that money hungry when it comes to having sponsors everywhere they can.. Hope you like them though!
This doesn't surprise me given my experiences dealing with CFS in the past, particularly trying to sell shirts.
I've never tried selling any shirts to them.
@@ClubFootballShirts I was a bit tight for money a few years ago so I sent them a list of about 15 shirts, a few nice ones, 2008 Germany Home and Away with players names on etc. They came back to me with an offer of £50 for the lot.
I was a bit like whoa hang on... The two Germamy ones must be worth about £35-40 each as is... Then there was an extremely rare St Johnstone 1990-92 Away Shirt that was worth £70/80, and an Inter Milan European Home shirt from 2004/05 that they had on their own website for £90, and they offered me £50 for the lot.
I also know another guy who sold them a shirt for like £20, then about a week later he saw his shirt on their website for £65. 🤦🏻♂️
Don't get me wrong I've bought a few shirts from them in the past and been very happy, but I would never approach them with my own shirts again after that, that is for sure.
Wow. I expected them to offer less than the value as they obviously need make money on their purchase but £50 for the lot is ridiculous. They could have offered £150 and still made plenty of money from it.
Hopefully you were able to find a better place to sell the shirts and receive a more reasonable quote for them.
@@jimbuckley2862 I just sold them 13 shirts for £175. Can’t complain as i bought the majority of those shirts on ebay for under £15 or so in the past few years. All of mines are in great condition as i never wore them. Some of the shirts were Juventus 2003/04 Home, a few Argentina shirts from 2010 and 2015, random teams like Dinamo Zagreb, Wolfsburg, St.Gallen, AC Milan, Newcastle, Bayern Munich etc. Thought i would get a lot less for them.
I bought an arsenal fan shirt for £3 from sports direct once and that had their kit maker at the time on it (Puma) so I don’t think £9 is even a fair price still 😂😂

Guess I’ll stay away from their mystery boxes then 😂 doing a series on my channel where I try a new company each month. So far had a very positive one and a very disappointing one. Pot luck with us smaller channels unfortunately.

For the shirts? I guess it depends. Anywhere and everywhere. Direct from the manufacturer or clubs. Or from other retailers. Plus for the second hand they'll get them from people as well as eBay. Etc...

Do you still believe CFS are "the best at what they do" despite the issues you've had of late?
I do. Even considering the annoyances they have provided me with they still are the best. The selection alone allows them to stand out. Are they perfect? Definitely not. But in comparison to their competitors they still come out on top for me. Some other retailers do things better in some regards but I feel CFS are still my go to destination for random shirts. Though buying from the club store is becoming more common for me as I'm looking for rarer and more interesting shirts.

However, the "classics" are a different story altogether. You'll have plenty of new "FAIL" content buying older shirts from them haha. keep up the good work on these sorts of videos! I’m not gunna lie mate but they have to make money, the Arsenal shirt is poor from them but you can’t expect the full works. Complaining about the trading cards aswell is abit too far
That's absolutely fair. These mystery boxes are all subjective and what I find interesting may not appeal to most other people and vice versa. The primary aim for these videos is to showcase what is possible and then people can make up their own mind. 👍👍

25 minutes of my life I'm never getting back...don't buy a mystery box if you are going to moan about the teams etc I get it's disappointing but even with the Dallas shirt you're moaning, buy the shirts you want if you are that bothered 😴

They sure are. The are the biggest and best place to buy shirts from. Like any company they aren't perfect but I've bought near 200 shirts from them. 👍
