- Gemloader are back! This time they have brought out a trading card binder for cards in toploaders, but smaller! These premium trading card albums feature a 2 x 2 layout for 4 cards each page, instead of the previous version which featured a 3 x 3, 9 card layout.
This makes a great Pokemon card binder for our collection, and will be great for storing all your YuGiOh cards, MTG and any other trading card that fits in a toploader, safely and securely!

Another great review on the Gemloader binders. Thank you:')
Very welcome! Thank you for the kind words 🫶
Great review on this! Wanting to get one of these top loader binders eventually but I don’t have enough older cards like yours to go in 😂
Cheers pal!! Glad you enjoyed it!! Can definitely highly recommend them 🙂
Do a bunch of these binders look similar? Do they all come from somewhere and Gemloader & others just stamp their logo the cover?
Thanks for this video, this binder looks very interesting.
I have quite an expensive collection and want to ensure it's stored securely.
a) Does the binder "bend" when fully filled? A problem with ALL binders I have so far is that the bend when opened with all cards being sleeved and rare ones being doubles sleeved (not in top loaders)
b) Would you be able to use this binder without top loaders? And specifically for Yugioh cards?
cheers!
Thanks for the great review, very helpful!
I like to store my toploaders themselves in perfect fit sleeves (mainly to keep the dust out) and would like to keep them in these when using this binder. Do you think the extra thickness from the toploader sleeve would cause any issues with it being too tight when the pages are loaded both sides? Could that potentially bend the cards over time?
(I'm using the bordered gemloader toploaders you recommend if that would make a difference).
Thanks again :)
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it 😊. So, we haven't tried them with sleeves on the toploaders, but we have used thicker toploaders and they worked okay. It can make it tight in the pockets, to get them in and out, but other than that it's okay. Using the thicker ones we didn't see any bending at all so I don't think it would cause any issues with the sleeves on them 🙂.
I have one of each color of the smaller binders and they are great! The size fits perfectly on my bookshelf. I am hoping they release more colors! (Before I buy a few more)
That's great to hear! We love that they fit on our shelves a bit easier too, the big ones are lovely, buuuuut, they are certainly big 😅
I like the fact that you can have a mini Library of pokemon binders with a couple of these
@@R26Roman exactly. Mini collections. I have one for MND and one for MTG classes/tribes. Want to get a few more for my tribes
Hey Dave & Luz, how is it now, 5 months in? Did any of your toploaders in this binder got a curve or bend to them? Would be nice to hear from ya.
Hiya! Nice to hear from you again 🙂 - can't say we've noticed anything like that with them, still very very happy with the binders! Nothing really has changed since we posted this video, I think these binders are definitely going to stand the test of time 😊
hi! is there a problem if the binder is completely full? Do they cards and pages tend to start bending at all or do they stay flat?
Hi! So when it's totally full and you open it up the first few pages get pulled over by the spine which is pretty typical of any portfolio/album style binder. HOWEVER the difference here is that because the cards are in toploaders it's very very unlikely there will ever be any damage to the cards (unlike a normal card binder). When the binder is zipped up the pages lay perfectly flat against each other even when completely full 😊
Do the toploaders slide out easily? Would you say it happens everytime you open your binder? Thanks
Hiya, we find they're pretty secure in there and don't tend to move around too much. Sometimes when you only have 1 or two pockets filled we'd notice they move a little more, but when you have all the pockets filled on a page they barely move at all 😊
I like your Red color toploaders!
Thanks! They look super fancy in these Gemloader binders 🤌
Thanks for this video. Do you know if there is a binder for slabs/graded cards like PSA, Beckett, etc.? Would be cool to be able to transport slabs in a binder.
Hiya! So there are a few products on the market that are pages for 3 ring binders that hold slabs. Our favourite ones are from a company called Slab Sentinel. Atm there aren't any portfolio style binders, like the Gemloader, that fit slabs to our knowledge. But! We know that a few places are trying to get one released, so we may see one in the next few months!
@@daveandluz Thank you for your reply, I will keep an eye on it. Cheers
No probs at all 😊
Is the inside of the front cover and back cover a soft material? I saw that the topp deck binder like this is a material that scratches the first page of cards!
Hi! It's a soft, velvet finish type of material on these ones 🙂, can't say we've noticed any scratching from these covers! Sad to hear about the TopDeck ones!! That's really unfortunate 😔
@@daveandluz I’m getting a green one, I’ll use your link! Now to decide which color top loaders to get with it black, red, or clear.
Great stuff!! Personally we reeeeally love the black ones! They look super luxurious!
How good are the zips? Also how well do the slots hold up and any issues with double sleeving inside a toploader? Cheers
Hi! The zips are very good, nice and big zip and no issues ever unzipping it. The slots are good too, made from a pretty thick plastic so holds up to taking the cards in and out of the binder. No issues with double sleeving inside Toploaders, although that's more down to what Toploaders you're using, than these binders necessarily, would say you don't want to be using super thick outer sleeves for a standard thickness Toploader but your mileage may vary 🙂
Would you consider dragon shield clears a super thick outer sleeve? Recently purchased the 2x2 gemloader toploader binder, and want to make sure im not damaging any of my cards inside. My current "sleeve setup" is double sleeving with kmc perfect fits + dragonshield clear outers, then inside a 35pt vaultx toploader, then inside the gemloader toploader binder. The double sleeved card inside the toploader is pretty snug, but doesnt "bubble up" from being too thick if that makes sense. Any help would be much appreciated!@@daveandluz
Hi, I was thinking of buying it, but filling it with top loaders, doesn't it get too big or worse, bend the pages??
Hi! It does expand a bit with the Toploaders, but the spine of the binder flattens out to accommodate this. When closed the pages lay perfectly flat against each other, when you open a full one the pages tend to lay across each other a little bit, but we've not noticed any bending (probably cus the Toploaders on both sides of the pages make it super stiff!)
@@daveandluz Thank you for your answer 😀
No probs 😊
I bought one of these 4 pocket-versions for my alt arts and expensive vintage cards,
and at least my toploaders seem to slide alot when turning pages :D
Especially when not filled both sides... (I'm using regular Ultra Pro-toploaders)
Also the pages seem to scuff easily which is unfortunate... Probably not buying another one :p
Is the toploaders steady when you have filled a whole page front and back? And what is scuffing? like pages getting marks easily?
Well, the toploaders still do slide sometimes even if the pages are filled front and back, it feels like some of the pockets have looser fit than others,
and what I mean by scuffing is that the pages appear "dirty-looking" easily
That's a shame! Can't say we've had that experience, but may be worth reaching to Gemloader and seeing if they can help, they're a lovely bunch 🙂
just went to buy one and the shipping is CRAZY... I clicked out of there so fast and hid under my bed!
Unfortunately that's the only downside, fingers crossed a local retailer gets them in!
when they do ill def pick one up!@@daveandluz
Which one is a better method to use , this one or toploader? I'm a beginner
Hi! Which one is the topload? We really love this one though!
@Dave and Luz oh nooooo , I comment on the wrong video . I was supposed to comment on a short video
No worries 😁
Will 3×4, 12 pocket binder be released? ? (´,,•ω•,,`)I want a 12-pocket toploader binder because I can't find it anywhere.
Hi!! We haven't heard anything from the lovely folks at Gemloader about that! I know they are cooking up some really great stuff atm though
It’s funny how you call Imperial measurement units “freedom units” even though they are British and from the UK.
Hahaha I've always thought that too when I hear other people call it "freedom units" on the internet too, love a bit of irony in a joke 🤌
I wish you showed off the inside a bit. It's closed 90% of the video...
Thanks for the feedback, will keep it in mind for the next one!
