- La Banlieue is the 4th song from the new Beirut album called the Flying club cup.
La Blogothèque filmed each track of this album in Brooklyn, and will publish each of them on a dedicated website.

in 2016 still amazing
this piece is so haunting. I can't stop listening to it.
another Beautiful performance
un tributo a la música en sí, un tributo al arte y a todo lo que es hermoso para los sentidos......... emocionada!!
i swear this song keeps me up all damn night. i keep watching it over and over and over. love
I'll sing of the years you will spend getting sadder and older,
Oh love, the cold, the oncoming cold.....
Oh me, such sweet sorrow, this song is beautiful.
I hate cheesy comments like this. why must they be on literally every single video?/
I LOVE THIS SINCE 2007!! NOW IS 2017..
É a coisa mais perfeita no mundo, Beirut
super piosenka słuchałam jej już parenaście razy w życiu i ciągle mnie czaruje klimatem, muzyką, piękna super sie słucha, więcej takich twórców jak beirut!
love this song and it's awesome seeing them sing together
Better than other version. PERFECT!!
Nice music! The accoustic is perfect and the sound is divine...thx!
J'aime bien! Tres belle chanson! Bon voix!
beirut band is great !
excellent !!!
I LOVE this song, this video, and everything about it. Thank you!
when i hear zach's voice, i melt a little....i cant wait for the new album!
AHHHHH Ed Droste!!!!
we have to bow down to the guy behind the camera for all these music videos!
Wow, just wow. Beirut and Ed Droste performing together, that's just too good to be true *_*
Wow, this version is absolutely amazing. And I thought the album version couldn't get better.
Lindo... simplesmente amo esta banda. beautiful... I just love this band.
I am so in love with this song...
God this song is beautiful.
i could almost swear that, if you look really closely, zach has tears in his eyes at 3:10
ya i think i see what ur sayin about how the music "makes everyone the same". i think its such a wide mixture of different types of music that it kinda brings everyone together...SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!
I want to inject their music into my veins and and stay in the beirut world forever.
man i just love this band.
cool kick drum on that set too, its like a frame drum or something.
God, I love this song so much.
This is freaking ART!!!!!!!
No doubt! Masterpiece in sight.
Grandioso!
@Terraky My thoughts exactly. This is my first time hearing of Beirut. I'm finally moving from underneath the rock.
emocionante,amo amo Beirut
I rejoice in the accordion performance of this song.
PERFEITO, PERFEITO, PERFEITO, PERFEITO!!!!
Simply gorgeous song. Wish I could find this album on vinyl.
great music, great persons....
pure awesomeness!
De uma sutileza...perfeito!!
wow. i truly enjoyed this.
The white guy sitting down is the singer. The guy standing up is a guest from Grizzly Bear. Originally the guy from Final Fantasy sang this song.
wow, i really like zach's harmonizing in this song
Magnífico (magnificent)!
a decade old gold
It's Ed Droste from Grizzly Bear, for sure. Owen Pallett (Final Fantasy) helped write it and has string arrangement credit for much of the album.
ART!
Best regerds!!!!
Kocham Was!!!!
Amazing!!!!!
nice performance, sounds great
in 2024 still amazing
@Daphuhnuh This is Beirut, Ed Droste(The lead singer of Grizzly Bear) is just singing with them. Zach sings the end chorus. I think Beirut and Grizzly Bear went to France together.
I love it
Wholeheartedly agree.
@Halileet ahaha...oh really?! Thanks:) Both singers sound great in this! Beirut is preetttyy uniquely amazing. I don't know if it can get any better than this.
wonderfull
C'est encore meilleur en live.
hats off
Gosh, I think I'm in love. :(
en el minuto 1:58 son como un coro de ángeles cantando *-----* los amo !
sweet thanks
What a voice... :D
que mejor sonido para tan hermosa letra.
OMG I've been so confused about that haha. Thank you!
@oblique65 singer is from grizzly bear, singer of beirut is playing on the trumpet
oh, thanks !
The best....
i like how ed droste leaves to the bathroom or where ever at the end.
I have watched this video so many times, and only just realized that Ed Droste walks out of the room haha
I prefer this version to the album version. This one's less "perfect", which makes more it perfect. :)
Beirut sem palavras para essas pessoas
i think ed's lower harmony sounds better than the album version, because it makes more of a distinction between the two parts. and also when zach starts to sing it seems more of a melody, more of a relief, his voice seems more poignant.
Amoo!!!!!!!!
owen pallet might have done some of the arrangements, but it was all zach's vocals on the song. but seeing ed was a pretty nice surprise
Ed Droste from Grizzly Bear is a great singer.
Obviously not as good as Zach Condon, but it was probably an honor for him to sing in this video.
On the album it's Owen Pallett of Final Fantasy but Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear is singing here.
Honestly this sounds better than the CD version.
espectacular
esta canción lo es todo!
Asdfgh 4 de Noviembre en México
what a great voice has Owen Pallet
thanks ;)
Zach couldnt find an additional for the parts in this song....so he just got the lead singer from the band Grizzly Bear to sing for him....not a big deal...its easy to do stuff like that if your name is Zach
The song that made me like him.
these guys are good, so close to the real thing!
Love this kind of versions then The album ones they shut put them on iTunes
Who else would love a Zach and Ed collaboration album?
No words.
I have this version it's amazing!!
Amazing, not so much a cover rather an impression... great stuff!
okay, i could play their horns under the table as well, but it's still beautiful music. there's more to this song than just brass, obviously.
I knew zach didn't sing this one, but i was surprised to see ed droste.
greaaat!
genios!
oh wow. i always thought it was owen pallett singing !
Yes
QUE VEEERGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (amazing)
This song's lyrics and vocals belong to Owen Pallett and I love it only that way.
amazingg,,,,(from italyyy)
good cover
I like the bands no one knows about!
Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear... Epic right now.
the small shadow over ed drostes mouth makes me laugh
in the beginning
I think this is my 3~4 favorite Beirut song. Tied with Cherbourg.
u are gra8!
