- Today I'm showing off just how insane Super Mario Odyssey Speedruns can be with the incredible FLUDD Mod created by @justkant8. The movement is absolutely ridiculous and incredibly fast paced so I hope you enjoy the video.

FLUDD and Cappy together definitely make for the most overpowered movement combo in any mario game

Well what button would that be mapped to, replies above me. Cappy already occupies motion controls and the X and Y buttons, the back buttons are tied to other things, and I assume that FLUDD is tied to the R button. All that’d be left is the L button if that’s not already tied to something.
Oh and don’t forget shitty Lakitu with his shitty camera controls, we need to throw him in there as well.
Well. Obviously we have to add this in Hide n Seek. The chases will be bonkers.

However with a capped water reserve it could be ultra fun! Either use it for hiding or keep some for speedy escapes :p and seekers have infinite water

The fact that even though Fir had this insanely overpowered mechanic, and still got a run slower than the world record, just goes to show how INSANE and optimized the world record strats are
He also got world peace in the kingdoms

8:32 I love the extra detail they put in that the power plant has a giant, metallic sphere (presumably like the Odyssey's).
This is the most insane movement possible in a Mario game. This is probably my favorite mod yet, even surpassing Multiplayer.
Also love the callback to Smant's BOTW speedrunning video with the thumbnail

Looking forward to see FLUDD integrated within hide and seek mode, the chases and chaos would be insane.
The extra movement capabilities with FLUDD in SMO are crazy! What blows my mind is that, even considering that Fir was messing around a good bit to show off the mod, the run time of 1hr 17m 20s wouldn't even place in the top 200 for any% or the top 40 for World Peace. Speedrunners have SMO so optimized that quite a few can beat a run with modded movement options casually run by another speedrunner. I really want to see Fir go for a serious FLUDD mod run to see how it stacks up against his actual speedrun leaderboard time.
I really enjoyed these streams they were some of my favourites! Really glad I tuned in lmao

these speedruns are so fun to watch. so many funky jumps.
I love the sound effects! Particle effects are also pretty nice, though the Turbo Nozzle could do with a larger spray out the back.

Really cool speed-run to watch! Its interesting to see how broken the game can get with FLUDD.
Having both FLUDD and Cappy is an overpowered monstrosity. I hope there's a sequel to this mod in the future where the entire game is modified so that it's FLUDD-only and you can still 100% it. Also include the squirt nozzle if it isn't there.
I'd love to see an optimized version of this run too, the movements look so fun and fluid and watching runner invent new tech to go even faster is so cool.

I did a world peace run and was only 10 minutes slower than that record, when not messing around I’ve gotten within 3 minutes and think I can beat it if I keep doing runs. Tyron is just insane at the game and even cheating with mods it’s really hard to beat his times.
Nice to know that it really is just the fact that the world record holder just can outperform a broken mod.

the fludd movement looks very different from sunshine it definitely incentivises cheesing everything more. like look at how different hover nozzle is
but cheesing everything can be fun !!!!!! imagining some fast paced platformer built around movement options like this sounds really fun

I think it would be cool to see a fluud Hide and Seek round. It might have to be more limited to prevent a repeat of the Nicro incident but it would be cool to see the spots people come up with.
The scary thing is, as busted as this mod is. It's SLOWER that WR lol. Amazing video!

Gamecube was my first console and Sunshine was my first 3D Mario. FLUDD is still my favourite of the mechanics of all the 3D Marios. That and Galaxy two's cloud flower... that was a powerup beyond the ages. Kinda wish they used the flight star but since they didn't, it is hard for that to be in the favourites category.
As of 2/25/23, this run would place 41st on the World Peace leaderboard.

just to impress upon you how insanely optimized SMO speedruns are, if this run were somehow to get accepted to the leaderboard for World Peace it would BARELY make it into the top 50 times

it was fun to see Cappy and Fludd together, but honestly, i expected something more of a “challege”, like being restricted to only Fludd and see avoid captures as much as you want

This is gimmicky and fun but I'd love to see a functional system like the nozzle boxes and new water refilling... Maybe even new sub areas where you loose fludd?
