Brian Burns is also a part of this draft
I think you are underestimating what Nabers does for our offense. Slayton and Robinson won’t be dealing with #1 corners anymore. You can’t ignore Hyatt deep. Our defense is good. Best DL in the league. Two good lb. Banks is a number one corner. We got 3 ball hawk safeties now. If we pick up another vet corner I think our defense is set. In my opinion it all depends on if we did enough to fix our o line.
Pinnick Belton and Nubin
Yes agreed
that's literally the theme for the last 10 years. The Oline has been shit for so long man....
Why no one brings up hodgins he is a big target and end zone threat
We should resign Jackson for cheap
I was so relieved that they drafted Nabers
Let’s remember that Joe Schoen says we got Brian Burns for pick 39 essentially. He calls that part of the draft class basically…
As he should
@@achilles8936 agreed. You have to pay him but you also know exactly what you’re going to get with him. Pro Bowl caliber player that’s 25 years old.
yeah that makes sense. And like you say, you have him for 5 years with the contract and also you very well may get more production out of him than you would've out of whoever you would've taken at 39
Adds to the draft class evaluation. This total class has potential to be the best since the naughts.
He was part of the class until they gave him $150M lol love the move just saying that wipes out the benefit of rookie contract
You guys are the best in the business. I love watching all the Talkin Giants content. Thank you boys for all the work!! TALKIN GIANTS VS THE WORLD
Appreciate you! Thank you!
Thank you so much for all of the effort your guys have put in over the last few months leading up to the draft. It was an awesome watch (even though im from the UK so your coverage started at midnight my time so i didnt get much sleep this weekend!)
Much appreciated! Thanks for sticking with us
@@TalkinGiants I subbed and hit the bell. You guys earned it. Give these guys a raise Jomboy. And some advertising!
100% most interactive community there is, yall and this community makes being a giants fan in California a lot more enjoyable for me, don’t know how I would do it without yall.
Appreciate you!
I like our draft everyone saying they didn’t draft a lineman but we picked up 2 in free agency so I’m not shocked. I do believe the team is better now.
I have seen that , and upset about the corner we drafted, or that we didn't draft a project QB
Picked up 2 starters and 2 more depth pieces on OL with Stonne and another
@@RaNm2418 I'm sure we'll add more players when they cut some veterans in July
We are still stuck with DJ. His lack of development is truly what’s holding the franchise back.
Name the last NYG FA Olineman that lived up to expectations. My answer is Kareen McKenzie. That was decades ago.
“Through a focused mind and disciplined behavior, you will see your life improve one step at a time!”👊🏻🇮🇹
DJ is taking us to the playoffs this year. (Probably the last remaining believer)
You're smoking crack 🤣
Don't stop believing. Hold on to that feeling.
Nah, there's still a few of us left. But, THIS is the year. Otherwise, I'm jumping ship.
Lol
I believe.
CB2 is still terrifying at the moment
Someone very good will get cut and will get them same with both line depths
Really Corner in general... Banks is great but we are SO young at the position that its scary
@@cwooley89 yeah our entire secondary is super young. I mean they signed Jalen Mills but that might be the only veteran in the entire secondary
Nick McCloud is good. Hawkins will get better.
Bring back Adoree
I watch the pod during the season and I watch the breakdowns, but I just wanna say this is the best draft content I think I've seen all year. I wish I could find post-draft content this detailed for every team, especially as it relates to specific needs, scheme fits, expectations and value in the draft, and doubly especially when it was as straightforward and honest as the info and opinions presented were. Keep up the good work and Let's Go Big Blue 🔵

Great coverage as always guys, watching / listening from UK. Let’s go Big Blue.
Much appreciated!
Thank you, guys. Your reviews were very informative and equally funny. In total, very enjoyable. Looking forward to UDFA video. Go Big Blue 😁🏈😁🏈
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow! Great recap guys! Impressive! 💥🏈🎉👍
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video.
Thanks!
Good to hear someone put my feelings into words about our latest mish mosh of an OL. Must be they really believe in the new coach versus the old one.
The Giants got better
It's not just how well we did in the draft; it appears our competition especially Philly & Washington got better. And Cowboys learned their lesson with offensive line picks .
Just went and gave you guys 5 stars on Apple podcast!!!! You’re not going anywhere Bobby!!!!
Appreciate you!
If Andrew Thomas gets hurt again, who are the two starting tackles? If so, I think our season is toast. Again.
I think Eluemunor would move to LT and next man up at guard
This.
I was / am, still a tad disappointed that we have to deal with Evan Neal for another season.
There is no one behind Thomas who is any good.
@TheSteveKinney we have the guy we signed , he will beat him in off-season battles
I think your wrong , the o line men we got in free agency are better than project line draft picks
Don’t forget our new o line coach if our line becomes decent we have a shot
I hope and think he will do some good things for our O line! A new era
Thanks you two. If I lived in NY I’d come hang out with ya’ll at a tailgate. I appreciate all the work you two put in.
Hope to see you one day! Thanks for listening
Man...all Bobby's talk about Haynes had me picturing him as our next Chris Snee 😔
It’s easier to find a guard later than a corner. Corner was a bigger need going into the draft.
My only gripe from the draft is not getting Christian Haynes when he was available in the third round. CB is also a need so I’m not too upset about it. I give the draft a B+/A-
Couple of things...(1) Very good draft, but agree with youse guys 100% that Giants should have selected Christian Haynes in Rd 3. Your analysis was spot on. BTW - I predicted last season's debacle - spitting nails a year ago that G-Brass neglected the O-Line. (Former QB - the Big Horses & good blocking schemes are critical.) Justin's analysis of Andru Whatshisface is alarming. I did like his interview - he definitely wants to be a Giant. Wish him the best. (2) Don't fall asleep on Drew Lock. He appears to have learned from past failures - important character win. He may be better in stretching the field than DJ. We'll see... Put it this way - I was relieved when Geno Smith returned in Seahawks game. Lock was solid. And anyone who torches the Eagles is a friend of mine. Go Big Blue! 😁🏈🏈🏈
Amen on the Christian Haynes conversation.
Thanks for listening!
Great draft recap
Yurp
This is awesome guys. Thanks. If this offensive line is as bad this year as it was last year, unfortunately we’re looking at a new regime again. I can’t agree with you more that they had to come out of this draft with a good offensive lineman to provide depth and or plug-in play starter. Dallas got Cooper Bebe after our 3rd. It doesn’t make sense.
Appreciate you for listening!
I seen a vision that # TD, is our future QB and will get us a Superbowl
Tyrone Tracy with the new kickoff rules might be a thing.
Curious for thoughts on UDFA guard Jake Kubas, giants just signed. North Dakota State
Our offensive UDFA episode will be on Thursday and defensive UDFA episode on Monday
I think this is one of the best episodes of Talking Giants I can recall.
Justin's point at pick 70 is really interesting.
My take is Flott in this system fits outside better and Phillips is a system fit prototype for slot. Bobby getting all excited about Theo is my favorite. Say it with me "Theo! Make a play!!"
Thanks for listening David!
I really have no idea what Schoen was thinking drafting a bad CB in the 3rd round instead of a guard.
You think he's bad because you wanted a guard.
Considering they brought in 5 guys during free agency why would you want it?
Theo Johnson needs an eyeshield too. Theyd look like Giant transformers.
I think Daniel will surprise everyone this year.
Man i think the biggest travesty is that no one remembers how on point Isaiah hodgins was for us. He barely got back with the team. Dude was straight clutch for us when we needed him and now no one even speaks his name...😢
I ain't forgot about him. Hodgins being wr4/wr5 is a good thing bc honestly that's what his role should be. He still a solid possession receiver & will make the team
That’s what I’ve been saying he’s our best red zone threat and a big body receiver he needs reps
If Theo hits like you guys have convinced me he will…this draft looks even better. Especially being a 4th rounder.
I feel better knowing that the Pats just weren't moving off. 3 first rounders should have been enough. Question is can McAdoo develop him in New England?
Bang
That is just fuxking crazy. 😂
TALKIN GIANTS VS THE WORLD 🫶
Always!
The majority of people said this draft falls off a cliff after the 2nd round - Young offensive lineman struggle just as much as young corners. We need corners!!!!
We have corners. They need to play better.
Nabers was a no brainer if we werent going to trade back or draft a QB, although i did actually like McCarthy, just not at 6. Maybe he proves me wrong but im super juiced we didnt trade up for Maye. Johnson was my favoraite real time pick besides Nabers but digging deeper has me feeling the Tracy pick the most. Dude is gonna ball out for us even if its only on his rookie contract.
agreed with your comments completely !! especially on phillips dont know how shane can think the ol is fixed with what he brought into the mix. wr are going to have to catch quick throws and run like hell to get 20 yards. otherwise or qb will be on his back
There's no way Andru Phillips is a worse top 100 pick than Cordale Flott. That pick was out of nowhere & nobody anywhere had him as a day 2 prospect.
Let’s go big blue!!!!
In DUPR, to me + .30 represents a new level of skill. But the levels in tournament play go up by .50. So by that anyone below a 5.0 can play 4.5.
I’d like to see a breakdown of what impact you think the new OL coach Brucillo will have on the development of the current roster. Traina had an interview with the Raiders beat guy, who couldn’t say enough wonderful things about him. But Bobby’s is the opinion I want.
We talked about him on this episode below. But not sure if you want to listen since Justin gives his opinion too so be careful

@@TalkinGiants I saw that one.
i'd loved to have the Giants picked for Maye too but not for all those picks. I don't know what's all the hate about people complaining Schoen not picking a QB this draft. Picking someone you don't love, just because you have a need for a specific position, does not make sense.
Do like the review and agree with most points especially Phillips and Johnson. The carbon copy slot corner of flott/Holmes was a wasted pick and there was more value there. Can very much agree Johnson may be this generations Kittle/Kelce 4th round TE that becomes a beast and I could see Tracy becoming a Sproles/Patterson type back for us
Still wish we got a lineman. Giants are only team in nfl who didn’t take an olineman or dlineman and that’s crazy to me.
You're a casual, in free agency we made TONS of signings for linemen especially offensively
What's crazy to me is that peanut brain fans like you don't pay attention
The only team got 5 online free agents too
@@IroncladUSShut up Fool.
@@Jason-do4uz Bracillo had 2 UDFA's on his 12th ranked Oline in 2023.
We didn't need Gray last draft. Jashaun Corbin was better and still is in my opinion.
If we hit 40k Justin does a shirtless pod
Now we need a RB, a true 2 WR like Aiyuk to have the offense we need.
No, we need a new QB.
Schoen was asked why did you waste a pick on Phillips and he said he’s a high character guy and they asked him if he felt comfortable with the gun issue on Nabers (who obviously isn’t high character) and he said Nabers got the gun charge dropped because he was a famous athlete lol . If you want high character shouldn’t that have been Odunze? I didn’t want a OL but I would have taken Haynes over Phillips. Haynes would have made this draft a solid B for me
Tracy is probably be a KR and maybe PR. You could see instantly why that a WR converted to RB would be good with the new rules
Id rather take a should be than a could be.
I hope Tre Hawkins gets another chance I know he had a bad rookie year but I think he can truly develop into a good corner in the NFL
I've never seen someone get benched midway through the 1st game of the season B4.
the andru phillips pick had me going crazy esp with Beebe here. When you're picking in the third round and you have the giants oline you don't have the luxary to pass up quality guard talents for a project at slot CB
Had you going crazy because they didn’t take a project olinemen? Wtf
@@MrTreyshawn22 i'm sorry? They drafted a project slot CB.. in fact reached when Bebee was there and guard was a bigger need than slot CB lol
😂😂😂 how do I get this job ? 😆 🤣
Everyone keeps forgetting the Giants STOLE Dante Miller after the South Carolina pro day
4.27 Rollin.
Stole. Not sure about that.
@@cooldude7821they were the first ones to figure out he was an udfa from 2023 due to an error in filing with South Carolina. To get someone that flew under the radar and has elite physical traits for basically nothing, steal.
Meh. You can't steal a non-draftee. Sure, I hope he is the diamond in the rough too, we'll see.
Dont sleep on Dante Miller at rb
Fast dude with no wiggle. Gonna end up on the PS.
Haven't seen him run, but I doubt he's better than Singletary.
Bobby and Justin are my nyg hookup. My hopium dealers.
Not too worried about CB2 at the moment. Andru is a good athlete but I do not think our CB2 is on the team yet. Next year, I want Tacario Davis. CB out of Arizona. He’s impressive and long. His forced incompletion rate is awesome and he’s 6 foot 4 and smooth as silk. Unbelievable freak.
How many draft classes do they need before they build a good team?
Not even a great team, or SB contender. Just a good team. How freaking many? Five? Ten?
I think you’re wrong about the third round cornerback. We already have 11 veteran offensive linemen signed. Bringing in a rookie offensive lineman who won’t play for a year. And they need secondary players very badly.
Makes me wonder what would've happened if the Chargers took Nabers.
If Jones had a guy like Nabers in 2022 then would we have more faith in him cooking off injury?? His tape last year was atrocious, but if he can become that little gunslinger he used to be with Pat shutter then who the fuck knows how this season could go!
Andru Phillips is a DAWG. Top 6 cb in the draft
Naaaa.
I have to disagree about Xavier. I liked him too but not 17mil per. Not even close!
Yea his production didn't merit 17 million.
Fully agree. Although Xavier certainly has skills, he never had one full year of solid play. He would have 5 - 6 excellent games and then pretty much disappear. Sure, he played every down last season, and I respect that, but his first half of the season was nothing to write home about.
Eric Gray Has Àlot to leàrn? Not the RB I thought
Hindsight is your strongest strength
Listen,,,we will be good,,, with #DJ, now that we can protect him,,, he's going to show his ass off and ball out,,,with theses weapons we have now,,, and yes fighting for a playoff spot and maybe Superbowl,,,but we have to see which one he will show up for us,,,🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹, but i feel we will be good,,, some of the best didn't look like how they are today,,, Tom Brady,,2rd-3rd,, Eli Manning,,,so yes we good...
I think the DJ hate has become a little overblown, when ur getting pressured at a 47% rate , youre gonna see ghosts too. Also the best WR DJ has ever had, college and pro is Slayton. Not really giving the kid all the tools to succeed
DJ might throw the deep ball more/better if he had time to throw it!!!!!
Bobby’s favorite Phish show?
So the Giants literally had the worst OL last year, and they don't draft a single OL?!
Tryouts Monday . Be there
2 signed in FA and some picked up as UDFA, and a new o-line coach that had a top 15th ranked o-line in Vegas with far less talent than what the Giants have now... what more do you want
Dallas drafted 3. They must suck.
@@Jstomper14Bargain free agents though.
@@BrettM765I would've drafted Beebe instead of Phillips
Is Andrus peat a free agent if so I’d be all over that if I was them
If the Giants had taken a QB at 6, they would have been ridiculed in much the same way as Atlanta is being ridiculed right now.
ALL the same questions would be asked........
Is Nubin really that slow?
Well, he was recovering from knee surgery at the end of the season before the Combine (MCL) His 40 time was a tick better than Xavier McKinney's. But no, he isn't really fast.
What ever happened to Aaron Robinson, he was drafted under the joe judge regime. Wasn't he a CB?
Gets hurt almost every year
@@TalkinGiants Let me fix that: He gets hurt every year.
Hi
Hi Andrew
Joel Klatt said the Giants made a mistake not having a plan. I don't agree. Oh, and who is Joe Klatt?
Klatt is an idiot.
@@michaelmeenan5522Knows more about football than you do.
John Mara said, "we did everything we could to ruin this QB." With that statement, along with a new contract, it should have alerted everyone that the reason Shoen and Daboll was hired was to build around Daniel Jones. To give DJ the pieces around him they never gave him.
Things change. Especially after watching DJ in 2023. That was horrifying.
@@cooldude7821 It was. But the O-line was even more horrifying. My concern though is that DJ simply doesn't have the confidence to trust his receivers and throws to the safe option. He's got the arm and he's got the accuracy...but I question his confidence. If he can't get coached out of it, whatever, then his career is cooked.
@@pcarlson214 He has an average arm. His accuracy is also average. The receivers had a lot more YAC with Taylor because his ball placement is better than DJ's.
They better get a high dollar lineman soon. Trade someone if you have to.
Not altogether true Bobby. Don't forget Schoen did pay both Dex and AT which were Gettleman draftees. Although Xavier is a very good safety, he has tended to run hot and cold. He has not been consistently great.
