I will say that Traxxas stepped up and overnighted me a set of un-bent rails. Much respect to the Traxxas Gods!
Lesson learned: When you're about to do something insane, make sure your GPS and your onboard camera are both on. This would have been some amazing onboard footage.

I got to give both of you props for doing this.
New frame rails and some different aero front and rear and I think you got this. I'd think of covering off the rear wheels openings might also help as for smoothing between the tops of fenders.

and man when it lost control I was like ok next run. Then you showed the truck lmao looked liked a real car accident. Despite the wrecked truck awsome footage and nothing beats a good story.
Looking at the traxxas link app you should have been able to see that the motor isn’t hitting higher rpm confirming the speed.

You should also be monitoring current to see what’s going on.

11:13 At 50mph you’re at 19.4k rpm and 10.9v. First, you should be hitting 26k rpm at that voltage which suggests a huge load. Second, when you let off your voltage jumps to 12.1 meaning you’re experiencing voltage sag due to current draw. Simply adding battery capacity would help reduce the amount of sag and get more rpm out of the motor. Voltage drop naturally occurs as current draw increases based off the resistance in the circuit, so you can’t fully eliminate it.

What a beautiful truck, very scale look. 😳 But what looked even more scale, was the total carnage 🥺. I have never seen a more beat up TRXx then that. I am used to fix my rigs after one of my jumps wend wrong, but this looks like quite a task. Hope you can fix. 😘 from the Basherqueen

Funny thing, frame was only bent, everything else was perfectly fine. I'm back up and running for the final week!

Matt, at this point you should do what would absolutely blow the doors off of Josh. Cut the fenders and slam that all the way to the ground and do a plate chassis thing underneath like Josh did. It would win scale and top speed. You would need to print some Hooned out fender flairs too. Not sure on rules but maybe even do a frame delete

You should try smoothing the wheel off, there's alot of turbulence in those spokes. Try using dish wheels

Matt You need to install Daytona Prototype center mounted Fin (it look like a billboard in the center of the car) it make the car stay straight . I would Canada Motorsports Race Team (or snowmobile team) and on the center fin put a red maple leaf and use neon colors

After watching your current build I was hoping you could help me with mine.
Decided before I saw this & other videos you've done to build my own TRX4 from scratch, already have the rails & Hot Racings battery & servo relocation kit.
So that brings up what to power Her with, I've seen TRAXXAS themselves put
Model# 3350R VXL.3 with the 3500 motor, then I see you squeez that monster 540XL in the rails😯😯😯😯
Plan to build mine up as a Mega Mud Truck & want Her to be fast but not too fast, still want her to be controllable at speedin the mud or sand, so what motor should I run?
Thinking of using the VXL.4 so I can switch from 3S to 4S to control the speed that way, trying to decided whether to run the 2 or 1 speed trans too also to control the speed.
If the 540Xl is OVERKILL is there an in between thats still TRAXXAS that fits the rails of the TRX4?
OH by the way, I've already Pre ordered the new FIRST GEN K5 BLAZER from TRAXXAS, & sorry bro but I have to repaint that black body....... HUGGER ORANGE!!!!!!

I wouldn't recommend using this motor we're using for any actual application in the TRX4. Put a good brushless system from Castle or Tekin in it and be more than happy. Something in the 3600kv range should give you plenty of wheelspeed on 3S in high gear for flinging mud. To be fair, I haven't done a mud truck in the Traxxas ecosystem, so maybe check out one of Harleydesigns' videos on the subject! Good luck!
