@@LunaP1 I was watching _Avatar: TLA_ for the first time (yeah, yeah, late to the party) as I was finishing up the show that everyone else... apparently grew to hate, I think? Anyways, it was a stark contrast, but I was mostly left with one striking thought: '_Avatar_ had fewer episodes than That One did, and yet their writers managed to tell a well-composed, cohesive story with excellent characters and character development in that amount of time, even with filler'.
I wasn't expecting the moon (heh) from That One's writers, but I was expecting that lessons were learned from the past, at least in small ways. Turns out that was expecting the moon. And forgetting that _Korra_ itself also forgot many of those lessons.
If _Storm Hawks_ ever does get a reboot, yeah, let's hope their potential writers learn from these shows. I did get reminders of _Storm Hawks_ while watching That One, but I'd rather get more reminders of _Avatar_ when watching a future _Storm Hawks_ series.
I always thought Stork was a really cool character. Loved how his design looked like he was about to be a turncoat villain, but he always helped out his crew. Man this show really flew under the . . . . . . . Radar

I loved that too. Like he has this creepy sinister vibe and you kinda get the feeling that he's secretly evil but he's basically just in a perpetual state of being done with everything.

Ah, Storm Hawks. Such an underrated show. I loved every simple yet satisfactory episode of it and it is on my list of favorite shows. I believe it continued in comic form? I wasn't able to be around for them since things are such a disturbance.
My sister and I were obsessed with this show, can still recite the opening. Was really sad to see it go. It just wasn't on TV anymore from memory. I'd love a reboot. Yes stork is everything.
I found it interesting when talking to people about the show, the primary following/people who knew the show was mostly women. Not sure why it appealed in that way, but I think it has something similar to the way Legend of Zelda games appeal to many women.

@@doragon214 The in-show joke about "no female action figures" was literally written *by* the showrunners because they were angry at the way the real action figures had been done.
The reason is appealed more to women than men, was probably because unlike let's be honest, most children's TV, it didn't have sexist undertones.
You say that now, but if a reboot ever actually happens, it'll probably be nothing more than a cheap cash grab that'll be worse than the original.
I love the strom Hawks of the characters and the animation and my favourite character is Ace because he's such a cool guy LOL.

Honestly, I really like the whole "oneshot adventure per episode" format, but I admit that it's a format that was also done in Avatar the Last Airbender and Voltron: Legendary Defender seasons 1 and 2 in ways that also included more story progression, so I see your point about how Storm Hawks could've and probably should've had more of a continuing storyline. That being said, I still adore this show madly and, in my heart of hearts, it will honestly always be my number 1 franchise/show/fandom. But thank you SO MUCH for making a video about Storm Hawks and giving it some much-needed spotlight!!! Thank you!!!
oneshot adventures are fine but they have to be important and not filler. the episodes in avatar may be adventures for just that episode but they matter to the overall story

I've never seen the original version of this show but I tried watching this one and it wasn't good to me...A major character gets stabbed but it could have been more graphic? I think I dropped it once they had a race for an episode.
There were a couple other reasons Storm Hawks didn't go anywhere; Firstly, Avatar the Last Airbender was airing during the same time frame, and secondly, the Writers Strike in 2007. The Strike dead stopped a lot of shows when it happened, and not all of them were able to successfully "revive" after the hiatus'. Storm Hawks also had the weird problem in the 2nd season of the episodes being available online/leaked before they aired on TV, so the ratings dropped because people had already seen the new stuff. Twas a sad time.

This show was one of my favourites growing up. I always tried to see if anyone else remembered, but no one seemed to have ever watched it.
The one episode I remmber in particular was when a bad guy had a "chute failure" and I thought it was mind blowing because the good guys went out of their way to help the enemy pilot.
Yes that did happen and it was just a regular grunt too, not a main villain or anything. Just one of the many grunts you see in the background and they still decided to help them! That really stood out to me as well.
I think storm hawks has the most unique and original art style of 3D animation out of most 3D animated shows. i miss shows like that.

negative legend thank you for covering this i have rewatcheed all 50 episodes and i never understood why the cyclonia rising 2 parter was putting so much buildup into a third season that never came everything was setup so perfectly with master cyclonis opening a door to the other side of the atmos and the storm hawks going after her

I still watch reruns of this show on Tubi TV. Stork and Junko are my favorite characters tbh. I loved how Stork was a paranoid hypochondriac but then in some episodes, you see is genius and his dark side, like when he booby trapped the Condor and sent those lizard people away and then he mocks the others by saying "wE'Re NeVeR gOnNa NeEd ThAt StOrK, yOuRe JuSt WaStInG yOuR tImE STorK. Hmph. I was right. The rest were wrong."
Wow. The characters do not sound the way I remember them, except for Stork. Stork sounds exactly the way I remember him.
Storm Hawks is one of three shows that stuck in my head growing up, the others being Avatar (of course) and Dragon Booster. They are directly responsible for inspiring what would become my first story, and are why I ended up writing in the first place.

Your reaction to the figure's face lmao I think they did the noses like that otherwise they'd be with that weird 'no nose' look since they're 3d animated. Probably why the rest of the model also has some outlines, which I appreciated because it didn't make them as awkward (except when they articulate lol). Stork was my favorite as well. It's honestly a shame this series ended without concluding because the lore and overall world they built for it is so unique and interesting. They did Piper dirty - I mean c'mon she literally had some subplot WITH Master Cyclonis and I'd argue she's one of the most important members of the crew with her knowledge of crystals. Dang shame.

Also, to be fair, Piper had a helicopter as opposed to the planes, so no Condor figurine kinda makes sense. No excuse for the rest of the toy line, though.

FYI the joke in the show about how girl toys don't sell has some truth in it girl action figures CAN sell if handled well but are often not handled well and as a result little boys (the core market for action figures and action toys in general) tend not to want them so they don't sell. A resent example comes from the women doctor who they toys and figures just didn't move.
Define transformers-like. If you mean that there were toys that transformed from bike to plane mode, then I have a recollection of seeing just that as a kid. I remember being low-key frustrated I couldn't afford it. Might look for it later.

Christ i remember watching this show as a kid and much like you forgot what it was called later on in life man its nostalgic as hell.
I loved this show so much when I was little, I still do and it's one of the biggest reasons I loved rocks and crystals, I go so obsessed with magic crystals after watching it that it just stick to me. I wish they would make a reboot of the show, I feel it would really deserve it! How about make a petition to bring it back on Netflix or HBO Max?
I watched this while I was in College, really liked it and it was a big hit in Australia before it mysteriously disapeared from the TV. Heck I even beta tested the Stormhawks computer game which also vanished mere weeks after it was put up without a word. Also I used to have it in my head that the title was Skyland xD

That show was so close to being amazing and it is still great fun. I wish the crew that makes the Netflix SheRa got their hands on redoing it with a full story.
Perhaps a Generator Rex video in the future? I don't remember much of it just that I used to like it. Sidenote I recommend Canon Busters on Netflix. It's really enjoyable and Negative Land's subs will almost certainly like it.

It was a cartoon by Man of Action (the Ben 10 guys). I genuinely loved it but it was very underrated and due to some weird licensing issues you can’t even buy the episodes in the UK iTunes anymore. I’d love to know why it suddenly vanished, it ran for three seasons!

When I started thinking about this show again recently, I realized that I misremembered a lot of details. I recalled Aerrow's name, but not the atrocious spelling; I knew the role that each Storm Hawk member played on the ship and their personality traits, but not their names (except Finn... odd, I didn't even like him that much). The big one was that I remembered Cyclonus was a teen like all of the Storm Hawks and used magic... but forgot that she was the real villain and objectively in charge of her army.
I somehow had it in my head that Dark Ace (the traitor, for everyone keeping track) was doing evil shit behind her back and using her inexperience as a leader to his advantage. His big character trait was his betrayal of the old SH team, so I guess I just assumed that backstabbing her to take full command was inevitable. Looking some things up, he seemed to be obnoxiously loyal to her which kind of contradicts his own characterization, though that could've been a farce too.
If I were working on a remake, I would probably take that betrayal path with the story and try to give Cyclonus some kind of arc. I'm thinking the kind of story where she can see firsthand that everything kinda sucks with how she ran things. Being the sole reason Aerrow is an orphan, it makes sense that Dark Ace should be the real villain to combat Aerrow's position as the protagonist. Cyclonus was most likely a child when the Storm Hawks were originally defeated, so her position as the antagonist doesn't hold personal weight; it's an inherited role. Notably, she only had speaking lines in 9 episodes out of 52; for being the main villain of the series, that's not a lot. Her VA didn't really help in that regard; she kinda sounds like the Bloodbender from ATLA Season 3, which is not a good voice for someone that can blend in with 14 year olds.
As an odd aside, her original VA not only did the voice of Rogue in the 90's X-Men series, but is currently a Member of Canada's Parliament as a Liberal representative for Nova Scotia. I don't really know how you go from VA to politician, but okay.
Storm Hawks was a huge part of my childhood and it's awesome to see someone make a video overviewing it. Kinda hoping I can write a screenplay for a reboot or adaptation some day.

Stormhawks had potential, it did lean a little on the childish humor and already done stories, but it was still unique and decent.

I need Storm Hawks on DVD. Not the few episode, out of order sets, but full season releases.
Some clarification because I see a lot of people getting this wrong: terras aren't floating landmasses, they're mountain peaks; they look like they're floating because they're so high up that they're surrounded by mist.
I remember watching a promotional trailer for this show at the cinema when I went to watch Bee Movie with my family. Looked pretty epic on the big screen. Before that, I saw some previews on Cartoon Network and thought about how cool the show looked and how I wanted to watch it. I mean... GIANT. FLYING. MOTORCYCLES. That is the ultimate embodiment of rule of cool. Got instantly hooked when it aired. Aerrow was always my favorite; he may or may not be the reason why I grew to like redheads, lol. Cyclonis, Starling, and Finn were my other favorites.
One last season would’ve been nice.

Lol, that's a little different though. Those figures are marketed toward older guys, not young boys. They appeal to waifu subculture and collectors.
Fact is, boys just aren't interested in playing with female characters, no matter how cool they are; I speak from experience, my younger brother's the same way. They're at that stage where they still think girls have cooties. It's no one's fault, it's just part of their development.
It would have been cool to have female action figures, however.

Storm Hawks felt to me like that show you heard of, but surprised it even existed.
As you said, the characters were pretty flat, but I still believe that the Dark Ace, as cheesy as he can be, is one of the most badass villains in these types of shows (like Vilgax in the original Ben 10 series).
Can you do "What happened to..." on a show called "Dragon Booster "?
It's an old 3D show where the characters race by riding dragons, and one of the gimmicks is they can change armor, where each armor has their own effects.
And the studio that made this show would later make L.O.S.E. (Leage of Super Evil) and the 3D Monster High specials (at least before the terrible reboot).
My favorite episode is the one where Cyclonis pretends to be friends with Piper and she sort of develops as a character.
I have Aerrow's skimmer as a toy. It transforms from motorcycle to plane by detaching the wings and pushing a button to extend the front wheel. I still have it on my shelf to this day.
What if there'd be a rebooted movie? It could showcase a greater scoping of Aerrow's origins; something like he was really the orphaned son of the _Queen of Atmos._ The Dark Ace should go further and become a "Complete Monster," betraying Cyclonis and willing to annihilate Atmos just to kill Aerrow.

After seeing this whole video I now have this fugy memories of laughters and screaming. I remember the characters but I don’t remember, and all the voices sound familiar but I can’t pinpoint any of them. Dang I hate this video for bringing back so many happy memories and can’t remember any of it well enough to feel it.

This was my all time favorite show! Stork and Cyclonis were the most entertaining characters, I only wish we'd seen more of Cyclonis. Maybe someday we'll get a season three or a reboot. :(
