Great video as always, Kari! It definitely was one of the biggest letdown of 2022. Not just by how it was released, but the overall look. Dropping it through SNKRS made me raise my eyebrow, and the Mambacita merch was crazy expensive, which also made me raise an eyebrow. Now, did I want the shoe? Sure. He's my favorite player. When the Kobe's were sitting before he passed, my size was always sold out and resell wasn't in question or in my mind back then. Now it's basically impossible to get because he's no longer here and prices are through the roof. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is. Nike, on the other hand, can they make more pairs? Sure. Do they want to? Probably not. Speaking from someone who works in Product and collabs with design, merchandising, fabric, and buying teams at my job, I would love to see the road they took on these from sketch review all the way to "post buy" meetings, where "post buy" is the most important. Idk if the Nike teams go that same route because every retail company is different, but that "post buy" will tell me everything I need to know. It's really interesting to see certain routes they take and decisions they make on certain sneaker releases.

Not bad, but I'd say the popularity is 70% pure hype/backstories and 30% actual design, etc. Contrary to popular belief, black/white sneakers aren't outfit/styling friendly unless you go monochrome, so probably better for actually balling in. Sadly I've gotten used to the let down, so not too upset, but def not the sneaker of the year.

Aside from that you’re right..what happened to Vanessa’s issues with the limited release and the true fans not being to get pairs. Nothing changed with this release. Nike has to do a wider drop of these at some point to make it right. Not holding my breath tho.
Smh...Nike should have made this sneaker available for everyone. People could have preorder and just waited on them to be made in the factories. Probably the most let down of this year.

I was able to cop via Snkrs EA but due to payment errors I was forced to cop a size 10.5 when I needed an 11.5. Admittedly I’m not a fan of majority Kobe’s sneakers even tho Kobe is my 2nd fav player only behind MJ himself. If I got these in my size I would have wore them occasionally just due to what they represent but since my size was made in such low quantity I had to let these go as soon as they came in.

I know it is just shoes, and resale culture isn't new or necessarily unwarranted in capitalism, but the type of hustling people are trying on each other is staggering. Attempting to gouge and artificially inflate the worth of any item is just not a sustainable lane. The exploitation of each other has to be controlled somewhat, because lately it has been running wild.

I would have because those kobes are nice esp for people who want a pair without it being busy and loud like most of his shoes that are highly sought after. Maybe it’s because he played in most of those idk but Nike man smh Nike. I bought the reps for 125$ and the paint on the Swoosh is better 🤣🤣 qc way better. Reps have gotten so amazing and high tier, no reason to pay crazy money to clowns....and you don't loose, guess you didn't know there groups that buy sell Nd trade Reps with over 25 million members so 🤷♂️ your wrong again
