Worth mentioning how with the racial abuse that Saka experienced last time, the police investigated the tweets involved and found that almost all of them were from outside Britain. Hardly anyone knows that because it is after the event, after everyone has formed their opinions etc. England gets a lot more attention because so many people speak English in the world.

Let's not forget that people were arrested and charged in England over the racial abuse of the players at the last euros so there a few scum in there

Did they all come from outside Britain though? Someone engaged in that activity could simply use a VPN. Secondly, some people un England were apprehended for abuse. Thirdly, some politicians and commentators in England contributed to negative criticism.

British people are the least racist in the world but are the most hated. A handful of anecdotes proves nothing. Most online racism is directed at white people. The victim bubble has burst.

@@hrishiv possibly yeah and France will probably give them that kind of match because they have been shockingly poor but aren’t way to score on either. That will favour France and of course they have crazy quality there so if they snap out of their slumber they could just as easily win the match vs Spain. Spain do look really good though so we will wait and see.

Almost slouched into the WC2018 final, too. Had the luck of the KO draw to avoid very strong teams like Brazil, Belgium, France. Only had to beat a Croatia team that had tired legs from two 120 minute matches in a row. Luckily for Croatia, Southgate is always eager to let tired opposition players rest -- look how he reined in his pacy players against Italy for most of the match against Italy in Euro2021.
