- A complete video guide to replacing a shattered or damaged iPhone 7 screen from start to finish. It helps to get a good quality replacement screen and a decent tool kit, these can be bought individually or in a bundle from as little as $25.
Make sure you keep all the screws really well organised when removing them so that you know which ones go where, there are a number of different types, sizes and lengths of screws.

Used this guide to replace my iPhone 7 screen today. Very clear and helped me get the job done without any breakage or drama. My old screen took a bit more persuasion to be removed than expected but all done within an hour.
did you buy the the tool kit and premium tool kit from the video description?
Raymart Evangelista a “free” tool kit came with the screen I ordered. All was good though the pry tool soon disintegrated.
I used this video to change my iPhone7 screen. The hardest part was getting the screen off; it helps to have two people. Thank you for making this video, you saved me about $100.
Thanks for the great feedback Nathan! Yes, when they started making the phones dust and water proof it became a lot more difficult to get the screen off.

@@MichaelKlements Isn't it a bit weird how you don't reply when people give you feedback, but when it's praise you're suddenly all ears🙁
@@zwena4574 I was just about to comment the same thing. People actually need help because he cut through the part installing the actual screen and he's just ignoring tf outta them. So rude.
@@2ShellOfficial its his video he can do whatever he wants and cut however he wants lol, do your own research whats difficult not just one youtube video
I still have my 7, and in all honesty, its been one of the best phones I have had. Its been through hell and has finally shattered after 4 years.
+1
Great guide, used with success. If you find the phone doesn't work after replacement (like I did) it may need a hard reset - Simultaneously press and hold the power button (Sleep/Wake button) and the volume down button until the Apple logo appears on the center of the screen.
This is the most detailed yet precise video out there on YT. Thanks Michael for all the details & quality of your video 👍🏿
Thank you, glad you found it helpful!
😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you, this was really useful. I bought a replacement screen with the pre assembled camera so skipped a few bits, would’ve liked more guidance on how to put the tiny fragile clips back on as that was the most tricky part.
Me and my dad just fixed his iPhone 7 the tutorial really helped. We lost a few screws on the way though, but all are back where they belong thanks
for this vid me appreciations.
OMG THIS IS THE MOST HELPFUL VIDEO I HAVE EVER WATCHED....I didn’t even need to pre-watch it. I just followed all the steps along with the video, with lots of pausing and rewind of course, but still my phone ended up PERFECT 👌🏼 Fantasic video thank u soooooo much
V4 Reyes2! well done, that’s awesome! Thanks for the great feedback!
is it still water proof?
You made it easy man and the camera was simple.... it can only go one way.
Thanks for this. Just repaired mine. Bit of a bodge job but it works. A couple of notes-some of these jobs are very hard. I broke the camera when removing it and had to get a replacement part. My home button also no longer works-it’s is very hard to remove and I had to watch a separate video. I may have damaged it or may have not replaced the ribbon cable correctly. That part is very hard to replace. I also COMPLETELY SEVERED THE SMALL RIBBON CABLE CONNECTING THE SCREEN BACK TO THE MOTHERBOARD BUT EVERYTHING STILL WORKS!!!! WTF?
That small ribbon cable is for your home button lol.
Great video about replacing the screen. Did it today following the video...successfully. The suction cup method to separate the broken screen from the body did not work for me even after blow drying it. I had to be carefully creative and pry the screen open with the tiny flathead that came in the kit.
The kit I bought had a cheap three prong screw driver. This screw driver is essential and is used the most during the replacement. The screw driver metal actually stripped and was not usable anymore. I bought a screw driver set from Home Depot that worked. It was a 000 three pronged screw driver in the Klein Tools set that worked for me.
Again, great video overall about replacing the screen!!!
I did not have the screw driver set from the video. Mine had black handles with no description on them.
thank you for the detailed video, I followed along and did it easily. Also great choice in the dubstep music.
this seems like a challenge but ykw this video is really thorough and i’m gonna definitely buy the kit soon and attempt the repair, i’ll update this comment when i do, thanks for the confidence and an amazing video!
Did you ever get it done? How'd it go?
Replaced 2 x iPhone 7 screens so far using this, many thanks!
My man cuts through the most difficult part.
yeah busted my home button because of it
T Money for me it was the unusual 180 degree bend of the ribbon type connector for the home screen button. Can easily tear when trying to disconnect/ reconnect. Even the slightest tear can prevent it functioning.
u K thats exactly the part
They also tell you to plug the battery back in BEFORE plugging in the last 2 ribbon cables at the 6:55 mark. Great way to potentially fry the backlight on your new screen.

Thanks for the video. Very helpful; I've just replaced my first iPhone 7 screen for a workmate that would otherwise have been thrown away.
Great video!
Thanks for the great feedback! Good to hear another phone has been salvaged!
I watched this video about 10x before attempting . Thank you so much , my screen is now fixed !! 😄🙏🏽
Great to hear you've managed to fix your iPhone!
Jodi Garci May I know did you fix by yourself
Today morning I dropped my iPhone 📱
And screen shredded was happy for weekend but know it’s makes my mood off 😔
heaven oo4 yes I fixed it myself.
And I’m no IT tech savvy person at all . I ordered the screen kit online from amazon. I literally watched this video over and over . And even drew out how many screws goes for each part . (Which helped ALOT)
Jodi Garci thank you so much for your reply it's really big help.. May I know do u have iPhone 7 plus.. Or does it screen work properly ??
I am asking because I have check on apple store and they charge $ 165
When I told about this kit which selling online they said it's duplicate screen not gona be work properly or slide gonna slow down
May I know what be say about your experience?
heaven oo4 everything works fine on my screen . No problems . I have the iPhone 7
Thanks! A couple of bits are always tricky like the connector at the bottom by the home button and it's way too easy to rip a connector getting it ungummed but good overall!
Thanks for this. I just fixed my wife’s cracked screen, no problems. 👍
Thank you so much! It was super experience for me... everything was done the way you show here.. but a little thing you need to show here, which screws exactly going to each hall as one plate has at least one big screw. And you have to show the way you save it while you changing.
Good easy video for the DIYer. One additional point is you can apply a little alcohol to all glued downed areas, this will creep down under and loosen the glue making it very usable again on the reinstall.
Thanks for the great tip Hemi Power, I will definitely try it out on my next repair!
I'm lost can you explain that part again in a timeframe step of the video. Thanks
Big Dog hi, if this is what your wondering about.time frame at 4:16 shows them prying up on the ribbon (cable ) at these points you apply a little alcohol this will soften the glue and make for an easier and safer lift of that glued section of ribbon cable. It will then stick better when reinstalling. Just apply alcohol to any of these areas you come across.
Who else is watching with a shattered screen?

Omg me there’s literally a fucked up line in the middle of the screen
haha pc fans go *brr*
5:15 where did that ribbon cable come from that I need to connect I’m confused
EDIT: Never mind I realized the cable from the old screen was ripped and attached to my button
I have never ever repaired an electronic before but I followed this tutorial and somehow managed to do it! I did apply heat to the screen with a blow dryer to loosen the glue a little bit, though. I didn’t fuck up the Touch ID either. YAY!
2 stah that’s awesome, well done!
sweeeet got all the way through right up untill the last screws took me two hours then while charging kicked the cord it fell of the table and ripped the ribbin cables.. fml.... take two!
Awww that sucks lol
Hey man i have a question my ribbon connecter broke (the little one) of the lcd and my screen works fine but my speakers don’t? And also what does the ribbon that i broke do
@@wymabajdirnd5905 was it ur camera ribbon? Because if that one broke (like it did with mine) then ur speaker isnt supposed to work and the camera but u can order a iphone 7 front camera on the internet and then look up a tutorial on youtube and it should be fine
Satisfying watching this when I should be sleeping....
2:27 one screw to the right remain unable to be removed; 1:43 the three 1.2mm screws cannot be removed with a 0.6 screwdriver; 3:50 home button screws cannot be removed with tools provided in the link description.
Yeah. I got stuck on the home button screws too. Any idea which screwdriver is used to remove those?
Skipping/rushing through a lot of crucial parts. Still very helpful, VERY helpful, and the text is very helpful as well, but a few parts would have been easier if there was a tad more explanation/not skipping/rushing. I was left having to be very careful to pay attention to how I took things apart for certain bits.
thank you so much, commenting from my newly fixed iphone!
Every tools that i need to know is all there specially the Y000 0.6 tripod screw and the adhesives(never heard on this one to other vloggers hahahah) good thing i watched this video. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much. A word of warning : be sure to use a good quality tri-point screwdriver, the cheapy ones don’t last more than 10 unscrewings, after that you’re really screwed. (and completely stuck)
Definitely agree with you, the tri-point screwdrivers are definitely the weak point in these kits and getting a decent one will save you a lot of time and frustration.
Mine is not working it has a sharp point on top and wont let me unscrew
Thank You So Much for this video. It was incredibly easy to follow and I love the music 🎶:) Grand Success to You Angel 🤘🏻⭐️♥️ Love is All from Texas
I think I'll just let my friend
Do it
🤣 are you not a technologist? 😂
None of my screwdrivers are workimg for the home button screws
@FREE FLOW The new Touch ID button won't work unless you have a special tool to reflash information for your iPhone's logic board. Like it will work as a home button, but touch id wont
Thank you so much without your video
lol no biggie just skip the entire camera assembly..the hardest part
Exactly
Yeah my camera doesn’t work now
@@Pinkfloydisbetter can you pm me on different social i’ll help you?
What?
Can you pls make a tutorial for the white iPhone 7
There is no difference in the hardware between the black and the white displays. The process is exactly the same.
Just turn the phone off and heat the glass whilst on the phone and replace the screen saves loads of time
I was so excited for weekend but today morning I dropped my iphone7
And shredded it’s screen
Feeling bad now .. after watched your vedio
Get some hope I could fix in less money
Just have a question if go to technician to change how much it could be charge

Thanks for this video was helpful, the hard part for me was to replace those tiny screws XD
Very nice video, format was really good. Straight forward and super clear. Keep up the good work here buddy
Thanks for the great feedback Felix.
Tysm dude! You are saving me hundreds of dollars
That’s great!
I was doing it myself easily but ran into an issue, my homecreen botton ribbon cable on old screen didnt have a connector, so now i basically have a spare peice there that takes too much space for me to actually fit the metal plate back on (the plate that hold the ribbon cable in place
The 4 screws on the battery part are stuck any help???
Thank you 🙏🏾. I just have one question. If my iphone has a white housing and on reboot the display is white. If i change the screen to black, does my reboot display also change?
After watching this video I’ll forego attempting this myself and let a professional handle it.
I don't have an iPhone or a shattered screen
I Juat like this kind of stuff
Good cool job
Wow...looks like It’s easier for me to get a part-time job, save up and buy a new phone.
It’s easier to just replace the broken phone screen

can you do a video on replacing iphone 7 battery
Hi, super helpful video. The only thing is that i can’t unscrew the four screws on the home button cover plate so I’m stuck. Did you also have a problem with this or do you have any tips for me?
Hi, thanks for the great feedback. I haven't had trouble with those screws specifically but I have occasionally had trouble with the tri-points on the lcd back plate and with the pentalobe screws on the bottom. If they're even a little tighter than usual then they strip the head of the screw driver (the cheap included ones) and then its very difficult to remove them. A good quality screw driver shouldn't have any trouble with these small screws so either try pick one up at a local store or order a kit like the one included in the description link. Hope you manage to come right!
Michael Klements awesome okay, thanks !
Just tried this repair. I got it all back together, but the phone won't turn on at all. I took it apart again and reinstalled the old broken screen, but still nothing. I double checked the battery ribbon is plugged in firmly. Any suggestions?
the screen you recommended is good? I see a few negative review
best guide
I love that music,woow yeahh
I love this but I’m just too scared to do it. I have the replacement screw and everything lol
What screwdriver is used for the screws around the home button. I can’t get them off I think my screwdriver that came with my kit is stripped and need to go buy a new one thank you
These are called pentalobe screws, like mini star bolts they are so small its not easy to recognise what they are.
Awesome video ! Kudos to you 😊
any other tips on how to get the screen off? I've tried heating it up but it is so difficult
Have you heated it up enough? It should be fairly hot to touch. Then try placing the suction cup as close to the bottom edge as possible. Pull up on the cup and try insert your pry tool along the edge to help lift it up. You can often help pry the bottom edge up with two tools, push and lift with one then hold it in place with the other and repeat until the gap is wide enough to get the pry tool between.
Hiya. I have a bought an iPhone 7 with a shattered screen and hope to repair it by myself soon. I have one question regarding the touch Id button. Did it work fin with the new screen? I've heard from old videos that Apple blocked it? Is this true?
Hi Hamza, I've read some online articles which suggest that Apple has disabled screens repaired by third parties on the iPhone 8 running IOS 11.3. I haven't experienced any problems on any iPhone 6 or 7 with any IOS versions I've come across so far. Just make sure that you move the touch ID sensor across to the new screen so that it stays with it's original logic board and it should work perfectly. People do run into issues when they replace the touch ID sensor with a new one, this disables the touch ID features and the button just functions as a regular home button thereafter.
@@MichaelKlements thanks for the help. I did read up on a comment on an article yesterday. Seems that by using the original home button you'll be fine.
Michael Klements Today my iPhone dropped on cement surface and screen shattered may I know how much it cost if I go for replace... or could you help me if I can do it by myself from where i get all tools 🙏
Hi I have a question. Some of my screws on the ear piece have not been moving at all. Is there any way i can fix this?
Fixed my phone somewhat perfect lol my front camera or home button don’t work tho.. gonna have to take it apart again and see where I went wrong! But the video did help a lot thank you!
A V Did u fix the problem ?? I need to know wanna do my phone to !
Bfk yes my dad helped me fix it
@@av9556 thanx alot enjoy your day !
Isn't it safer to use clear packing tape across the shattered screen so pieces don't fly off somewhere?
Do you need the gasket please reply because i need to fix my phone tonight x
The gasket just makes it more resistant to water and dust, it’s not a big issue if you don’t fit it.
Subscribed just by the music 😂😂
thanks you ..i did it
I tried using the suction cup and using a hairdryer- no luck prying the screen open. Any tips? Thanks
Hi Sam,
The adhesive strip can be quite tough to work free. Try leaving your phone in the sun for ten minutes or so to soften the glue. If that doesn't work, as a last resort, you can also stick it into a warm oven (not more than 50C 120F) for around 5 to 10 minutes as well. You've just got to get the edge of your pry tool under the screen once and it should all come free.
Thx for helping!
Even using a blow dryer trying to break the seal, I couldn't get the screen off. I don't know what else to do.
Thanks a lot. Anyone reading, don't forget to put the cover plate for the battery. 😉
two of my screws that are holding the fingerprint tight have really bad pattern (almost round) idk why since this is the first time doing this. Any ideas how to get them out? Help is much appreciated! tried elasticband and glue. Drilling isn´t much of an option right? Since the screws are super tiny as you might know ;)
Hi Alexander. That can be really frustrating! Have you tried gluing the screwdriver head to the screw with a drop of super glue? If that didn't work then my last suggestion would be to use a thin cutting disc on a Dremel or rotary tool and cut a thin slot into the head of the screw which you can then use a flat screwdriver to remove. You can buy a replacement screw set for your phone quite cheaply - amzn.to/2DfyY2u

Hello i bought used iphone 7 but the screen has touch issue. Everything else works fine except the touch doesnt work if i long pressed the screen. Will replacing the LCD digitizer solve this?
I'm not sure what you mean by if you long press the screen but if the problem is related to the actual touch screen (digitizer) then replacing the assembly should fix the problem.
Having trouble at 2:27 taking out the second screw.. Took out the first screw easily but the second screw just wont come out. Help please ;(

Can you send me the link for the exact one you used but in white?
i ribbed the home button connector cable... wtf do they glue this down with.

You helped me a lot. Thank you.
I’ve replace iPhone 5 before but this looks really easy compared to 5.
Yes, Apple has made screen placements quite a lot easier in the more recent models. The most difficult part on the newer models is getting the display off as the waterproofing sticks the display in place as well. I think that the 6s is the easiest to replace.
Great job and thanks for your help. I would rather you talk us through the video instead of reading the text cuz I don’t read that fast 💨 I have trifocals so reading isn’t easy for people like us. Thanks again!👍💕👏🇺🇸

do iphones still produce messages when new parts are swapped?
If I’m keeping the same internals on the back of the phone and only replacing the lcd, can I keep the home button and put it on the new screen? Will it work on a new screen but using the same button as previous:
Yes, you'll need to move the old home button to the new LCD otherwise you lose the touch ID functionality.
U help me to change my iphone 7 screen. Thanks😉

Is it worth it though? In terms of money
How much would it be to fix a iPhone 7 like ur phone you fix
Would help if you said which screw driver you’re using each time. Or even better said what size screws you’re taking out for each unscrew! Thanks
You'll need an iphone repair kit to repair these, it has everything you need. For the screws, just organize them so when you take out a screw it goes back where it came from.
My cat dropped my phone a while ago and my screen cracked huhuhu, will the fingerprint or home button won't get affected after replacing the screen?
Why does everyone in the videos remove the cameras?is it that the new digitized replacement screen does not come with it?
The screws on the home button cover plate refuse to come off. I stripped 2 of the screws. The screwdriver is able to remove the other Y screws though. Are the ones on the home button just too tight?
I've had a couple of screws in different places that are just too tight to remove. I'm not sure if they are overtightened or just get stuck from dirt or corrosion. They can be really frustrating to try remove.
@@MichaelKlements Thanks. I was able to get them out and transferred everything over. Everything works except the home button. Went to setting to turn on touch ID but it won't let me. Any Idea?
