Great video Guys! I’ve been researching the Tablette 10’s but now you have me intrigued about older versions. Great design from a venerable company. Thanks again!
I was in love with the look of the Proac Tablettes when they came out.
5:15 hilarious! Great review and those speakers seem awesome
Marcos does love his vintage/inspired gear! He even has one of the top of the line Sony walkman!
What is Marcos going to do with only one speaker?! You guys are funny and yes Marcos is all about the bass lol. Well rounded review, like usual!
Thanks nice review. Hard to find reviewers who do Proac. I’ve got a pair of pre-loved DB1s. They’re fantastic. Now looking for the Tablettes 10s or signature but they’re hard to find. I wonder how much improvement are the 10s vs the older Proacs like the Anniversary or even the IIs. Your review has given me some confidence of buying older tablettes if I can’t wait for the 10s to come up.
Entertaining review. Still have 1sc's in my "collection", many owners even prefer them over the current DB1. Vintage speakers, could definitely use re-torquing of the bolts -front and rear (gently hand tight), as they tend to become loose over time. Small monitors require good heavy mass fillable stands, i.e. Target MR60, to improve imaging and bass response.
Thank you for the info! I have always been a fan, however, it does look like I'm going to give the up to Marcos! I'm hopefully getting my hands on a set of DB1's for review as I have not heard the latest products in a very long time. On most mini-monitors especially BBC style ones, other than Target I've also had good results with skylan stands. I mass load them with either sand or rice. Thanks again for your input much appreciated!
I say: Good show!
I remember the first time I heard these in the mid 80s. Couldn't believe the imaging abilities!
Finally parted with my Original Tablettes with external crossover box s couple of years ago. Amazing with REL subs!
Went with the Black edition KEF LS50s. More depth and larger image presentation at the outer edges of the soundstage.
Note: Don't touch the Tweeter foam... It will rot from finger grease!
🎶🧐🎶
Thank you! I have always been a big fan of proac and all mini monitors especially bbc inspired ones. At one point I was addicted to collecting them. The ls50s did a really good job bringing that concept back to the mainstream.
I think you should place the speakers so that their tweeters are on the inside edges. The high frequency sound disperses more evenly on the closer edges. I own a pair of response 1s myself.
Thank you! We tried them both ways in our room as the first reflection is treated it worked better on the outside. At home(Marcos now owns them) he’s got in on the inside. Thanks again for your your input!
I would really love to see some modern Proac speaker reviews... please? 🙄
@@Hifyed Any model would do, but most interesting ones (imo) would be DB Three, Tablette 10 signature and Response DB one 🙂
@@akuankka5510 Sound good! looks like I may be able to get my hands on a DB one!
wonder how these would hold up against my Rega RS1's?
I have a feeling a lot of similarities. Never had a chance to have an extensive listen to the RS1s.
You have the speakers reversed! The tweeters point inward not outward. How do you not know this?
Yes I am aware in the setup guide it states tweeters inwards. In our review we tried both. In our room we have the first reflection treated and found the soundstage was the largest tweeters on the outside. In most cases its better on the inside and was just “safer” bet to have the tweeter on the inside. It has always been known and was always suggested to try both ways. Google the absolute sound review which you can still find and states the same thing. I’m surprised you did not know this 😉
Oops
Young man audiophile, Btw.. It's a near fields listening...and stop using auto levelling microphone
Hi, do you recommend it as a near field desktop environment? Also where did you get your sample for review because proact usually don't send sample to CZcamsr for review, thanks.
I had a somewhat nearfield set up a long time ago about 6ft away from listening positioning. It worked pretty good. If you're looking for an older set to use try and find ProAc studio 100s...This set was acquired from a friend. Myself along with our local audio community have a whole bunch of vintage/used gear that we would like to share with others.
@@Hifyed thanks you very much , your hard work will be rewarded !
@@jameschan2404 Thank you!!
@@jameschan2404 agreed. This is a good audio channel. Let’s help them out by sharing more😁
