Our problem with the kick pad trigger, register extra strokes, was solved by changing the 12 years old cushion on the kick pad. :)

Using a metal putty knife or a flat razor blade would cut the residue cleaning time in half. Then use isopropyl alcohol to denature adhesive and wipe off

Great video, and great work! I know that was a tough repair because of how sticky the stock foam is! Great fix, Mattias! 💛👻

Thanks for posting. Was very useful to me.
I'm screaming at the screen watching this: "Use a plastic scraper! You're scratching the surface".
Then I start doing the job and within seconds of using a plastic scraper, I'm on to the chisel and a stiff metal wallpaper scraper 🤣. A plastic scraper did take the remaining layer of glue off after using a solvent though.
I think it is worthwhile mentioning that the plate with the glue on it has 4 air holes. I assume this is where air pressure goes through when the beater hits the drum and it drives the sensing piezo on the back. You should probably be careful to prevent red spirit (or whatever solvent you are using) entering the piezo through these holes. I'm not sure what damage the solvent might do to the sensor? Alcohol will conduct electricity so might short something out. I'm not sure how the sensor works, but there must be some electrical signal being sent out the wires, so just be on the safe side.
Another thing I noticed was that the wire from the piezo to the jack socket is quite fragile. it's a good idea to use two (or all 6 if you want) screws just to hold the back in place while manhandling and scraping the front plate. This will avoid anything slipping and pulling on the wire, perhaps breaking it.

      Thanks! :)
I like it when other share their experience to others, so thank you for that :) I know I could do it a bit different, but it was the first try and it worked out, and for this repair thats good enough ;)

After 12 years of playing i would say it good quality. Some maintainance is always required at some point :)
