3 rules of thumb for offering advice in Unicorn Overlord;
1. If you critique a certain matchup always provide timecode of that matchup or I won't take the advice because I simply have no way of understanding it. (Context)
2. If you are offering a universal tip for a class/unit type/etc. Try to clearly state that so I'm in the right frame of mind and not wondering if the first rule of thumb was addressed or not.
3. And Double check your own work that it is accurate to your knowledge and if you're unsure you should say so. Too many state their "I think" in a declarative statement which can be frustrating for me because it's impossible to parse from those who actually know versus have a hypothesis.
Oh damn! What an episode to finally get caught up on!! I'm really enjoying this game - I think it's a smidge too involved tactics-wise for me to play it myself (I already have way too little time for video games as is), but I'm enjoying seeing you make your way through it even more that way. I never really got that into 13 Sentinels, but am finding this one really interests me - it must be the fantasy/medieval vs Sci-Fi elements. The artwork is gorgeous. I do wish Vanillaware would cool it slightly on some elements (or at least get Scarlett some properly fitting clothes and Yahna some actual clothes at all), but oh well. And really, the game got me on its title alone - I love unicorns ❤
The dialogue for when Units are likely to lose adds so much to Galerius fight here. Like Auch says "I can do it, I know I can and yet..." it just felt like Galerius's aura intimidated everyone and they were doubtful about their ability to beat him. Just so damn good.
Auch's team was the last I expected to perform well in that fight, shows how much I know haha. This game has so many factors that anyone is good in the right configuration inside a unit.
I caught up yesterday so I’ve been wait for this!
What a fight and what an episode! This was so much fun! I love that you have clear direction for continuing the main story, but still a little freedom in how to progress it and explore.
Also I wonder if Travis (or thieves in general) would benefit from weapons like the poison fang and such, which add status effects and do damage. Because they don't seem do have the biggest strength, but since we saw what damage those status effects can do, they could turn pretty lethal with that I think.
This game has been such a great example of "simple story, well executed". They've done just enough to keep us intrigued without having to go balls to the walls like 13 sentinels. Those two games are like counter points to each other haha. Maybe their next one will combine the writing madness of 13 Sentinels with the gameplay perfection of Unicorn Overlord. Either way I've had nothing to complain about as someone who can be very critical of a poorly executed story (which this is not).
@@AnalogVernacular Even a simple story can turn into a gem, if you just put genuine heart and effort into it. But yeah, a mixture of those two would turn into a masterpiece!
For me a simple story can become great through the characters. If the plot is standard and simple but the characters are real and/or interesting you've got me.
Brooooooooo! I gotta go back and see if I have that mirror. I had no clue you could change appearance like that! It's so cool!
It can change stats as well I just don't want to use that feature of it cause I want the original stat blocks the developers gave characters.
I'm loving this game 🤩
I was waiting for this 🎉
Such a great game. 50 hours in and not even lv 15
Impressive!
Now we have Ogre Battle mixed with Fire Emblem, with a dash of LotR lore! This game keeps on giving!
And Final Fantasy 12 Gambit System.
a locked door shoved your unit back and stunning them, but an entire battering ram running into an enemy does nothing 😂
And thus the plot thickens and more allies gained
Two more main quests ta venture forth ta farther _Liberate_ (see what I did there) thy land
But this is just only the beginning
I think you meant to be self hp instead of target hp for the sanguine sword. Great video!
The land of the elheim and drakenguard both seem interesting locations. My indecisive ass would likely go between the two at same time. If just to get the early potential units from both lands if anything. (God I wish this was on PC do I can get it)
53:13 also why the hell is that kid running a shop? Either she's a halfling or there is some serious Labor laws needing reforms lol
Hey Analog, just an FYI. It may seem counter-intuitive, but you'll actually want to bounce between Elfheim and Drakenhold ever so often.
I did Drakenhold first and my army was a full ten plus levels above the Elfheim battles, which unfortunately turned the entire continent into boring steamroll.
Please, learn from my mistake.
Edit: You know you can buy and sell multiple things at once right? You don't have to put up the shopkeeper line spam
Cool thanks, I'll keep this in mind.
More UL please!
Wait 7 minutes and wish granted.
17secs with no views and no likes? Lemme fix that real quick
Again with the wool clothes.
Ouch, 30 000 gold item used just to change Alain's appearance without touching his stats x)
I don't want to change his stats tho
@@AnalogVernacular You'd be surprised. I played around with it and it seems some combinations are straight up higher stats with no or very minimal lower stats.
I'm just wondering if it's still the same at max level though or if it balances out at that point
Of course but I want the developers intended stat blocks so I'm not changing them. Minmaxing ain't really my thing.
You can get an infinite amount for 30 honor a pop on the last continent. The stat changes are also retroactive, so it really isn't a big deal.
For me, second playthrough's are for breaking the game not the first.
