- Why does Jesus weep?
Jesus wept. Why does Jesus weep in the face of the death of Lazarus? He weeps to silence the Great Lie. He weeps because He loves. He weeps in order to teach us to weep.

In Mass today, as the Priest held up the chalice of the blood in consecration, a phone rang and a woman started weeping. A relative of hers had just died at that moment. We all knew that the death right at the high point of the mass was a sign from Heaven that he'd been welcomed in. It was very powerful to be given that sign and such a comfort to the family. Amidst the weeping, there was joy for a loved one who was welcomed into the arms of Jesus.

I remember being a kid and how it wasn't cool to cry so I thought "yeah, no one has that kind of power over me" then my friends started dying and changed my mind. It's funny because I know they'd be like noooooo don't do that, but they're worth it.

The blood of Christ is the new and everlasting covenant and Sunday after Sunday it is not offered.

It’s not up to the Vatican. It’s up to your Bishop. My Bishop ok’d us to receive the Blood this year in January. I’m sorry you can’t receive the Blood. Remember that in receiving one species you receive all of Christ.🙏❤️
Our parish is bringing back the precious Blood on this Holy Thursday!!! My heart has yearned for it for so long. It is an answered prayer. I will pray for your Bishop to make the decision to give the priest in your diocese the choice to do the same. 🙏❤️🙏

Jesus wept because He was a human being, and He felt pain and sorrow. There was uncertainty at times. We assumed a lot about Jesus that He walked around knowing for sure how things would unfold, but in reality, it was depending on the Father God. Jesus might know some about the immediate future, but He did not really know all the details. If one reads the gospel about Lazarus, one will notice the word "perturbed" mentioned twice at two different times, it showed that Jesus did not know all the details. Jesus said the following to the Father God, "Father, I thank you for hearing me. I know that you always hear me; but because of the crowd here I have said this, that they may believe that you sent me." Therefore, it was something that Jesus prayed to the Father God for Lazarus to awake because He loved Lazarus, and it was the will of the Father God for things to happen as such.
Perhaps the word used "imitate" is taken out of context ie mis-taken! Because surely being our true selves we are best disciples. Following in love and trust is not an imitation. Jesus is sharing in the experience of the one's he loves and it is a precursor of what is to come as you indicate. The Imitation of Christ is not about copying but about a genuine and shared experience of the essence of love. Great homily.

all ASDs must be copycats :D we don't feel the nuances at all. I just observe and try to mimic normal behavior. Some ASDs make eye contact and count seconds for proper eye contact (5), I don't care. I never could look at people as allistics do with all right way of looking. I just stare :D. It's the same about clothing - I must copy someone. I can't copy my fav blackpink, they are so much younger and richer, I'm old and poor, it's ridiculous for me to try to wear their dior and celine minis :D
