Nice to see something that I actually have to do at work! Gives me a bit of confidence that I don't do everything wrong... However I have learned for myself that small objects are better off being made completely new without linking the cad files- I just take the printout with dimensions on it and model them in revit- for a normal family home this seems faster and has the added bonus of getting rid of any .0002 imperfections in autocad and you find other flaws like doors that are slightly out of the grid..
👏👏👏 this is exactly what I've been looking for... Thanks so much
This is the best free software Ive seen. Respect.
Thank you so much, i was having trouble inserting cad, this helped so much. I'm so happy qwq

hi balkan.. any luck for gradient hatchs in revit?
thanks Balkan
Thank youu so much 💕
sorry but how the 2d part started ? Can you provide the link from where the 2d part started from scratch ? I am interested to try it and i am still a beginner . Thank you
Thanks a lot 💙
why i can't import the section part to the section? instead it imported to the west/north?
hi can provide link to download autocad file thanks
sir shall we get that cad file
Hello Balkan, one doubt, because you moved the origin of coordinates in autocad, but when inserting the file in revit by origin to origin, it keeps using the WCS, not the new position. is that so?
When i go to the 3d view my level lines aren't showing but i have already checked the visibility graphics still nothing:/ any solns?
Thank you very much
Hey, great video, it helped a lot, but how did you get your "vertical" drawings to align to a vertical view. When I try it, it will only load into the floorplans
same, did you fix it?
If you don't have section how can we create section in Revit imported from CAD File.... I imported my cad file DWG in to Revit and made section in Revit and it appears only one level line no fixtures of sections why? Please help me how to do easily sections and Elevations in Revit Imported from CAD DWG file
thanks again
Does n't it make sense drawing it in revit from the start instead of cad?
good job bro
stay connected 😊
How do I add a third level?
Nice 👍
why i ald link the CAD but it didn't show anything in my revit
Great tutorial, please can you make a tutorial on making a detailed working drawing like it's done on AutoCAD in Revit. Thanks
You can easily link the autocad draw into a "Drafting View"
Al3 how do you do it ?
Why we link cad file...???...we can draw plan and section in Revit itself.... isn't??
is making section drawing is necessary
I am using AutoCAD 2018 and Revit 2018
In AutoCAD, after I copy to a new files, i cant do as 1:50, my ucs icon can't move to desire point... Why resolve this problem?
Many thanks for solution
Ecko Zidanez type command UCSICON in cad and try changing origin
Hi just wondering if anyone can help, I've followed this tutorial and struggling to find the section when importing into revit, when I check 3d view I can see it but its at different height and not in line with axes point it was saved in.... Very confused
I'm dealing with the same issue here. The 3D view is kind of stretched vertically. Seems not as in the tutorial., did you fix it up??
Im sorry but this moving of the origin like that on Autocad does not work for me as it works for you. Can you explain why? please
I have been doing Intelligence spec driven 3D piping since 1994. 1994 Pro-Pipe, 1996 Rebis Autoplant, 2001 Cadworx, 2012Plant 3D 2004 Quick Pen. Oil / Gas has used very high end system for over 30 years. You make it sound like this is something new. Far from it. PDMS, SP3D, PDS VERY HIGH END
Hi Balkan, I just want to give you another tips about the linked files:
If you check the linked file button (first of all the buttons down right) you will be unable to select linked files.
yeap!!!! Thank You
If I import cad files to revit the wall thickness was more in that and in revit wall was soo small and it was not fitting
How to make this in revit
edit the wall thickness in revit to your desired thickness
Awesome again.
Hi, Milos. Can you please make the inverse process: from the Revit model to cad drawing? Thank you!
Renata Gay you can easily do it by export-dwg. Finish save
Prasad Kambli what about the layers? Is a door or a window turned into a group? Does it takes some preparation in the starting Revit file, e.g. hiding hatches, setting line thickness, etc...
Sir, when I imported the dwg file using link CAD, the floor plan is perfectly placed but when I'm switching it to 3D view..it's not appearing the way it must be, it's kind of showing a stretched view. How to resolve it??
kindly scale ur model and check the units both in revit and autocad so that they match perfectly.. if in autocad u use cm then in revit change unit to cm as well.
I am new person. Want to start Revit training from the beginning how to go about it. ?

GTA Vice City is Love
Just so advice for people watcNice tutorialng tNice tutorials video for the first ti
lol, you could just split view and do the same from scratch without importing file or linking to Revit. What a lame tutorial, i thought there was a way to automatically convert 2d (with 3 view) into 3d.
lol then just buy yourself so silentwings 3 and tape them to your head. works with the computer, why not with the brain XD
