    Nice to see something that I actually have to do at work! Gives me a bit of confidence that I don't do everything wrong... However I have learned for myself that small objects are better off being made completely new without linking the cad files- I just take the printout with dimensions on it and model them in revit- for a normal family home this seems faster and has the added bonus of getting rid of any .0002 imperfections in autocad and you find other flaws like doors that are slightly out of the grid..

    Hello Balkan, one doubt, because you moved the origin of coordinates in autocad, but when inserting the file in revit by origin to origin, it keeps using the WCS, not the new position. is that so?

    If you don't have section how can we create section in Revit imported from CAD File.... I imported my cad file DWG in to Revit and made section in Revit and it appears only one level line no fixtures of sections why?     I am using AutoCAD 2018 and Revit 2018
    In AutoCAD, after I copy to a new files, i cant do as 1:50, my ucs icon can't move to desire point... Why resolve this problem?

    Hi just wondering if anyone can help, I've followed this tutorial and struggling to find the section when importing into revit, when I check 3d view I can see it but its at different height and not in line with axes point it was saved in.... Very confused

    I have been doing Intelligence spec driven 3D piping since 1994. 1994 Pro-Pipe, 1996 Rebis Autoplant, 2001 Cadworx, 2012Plant 3D 2004 Quick Pen. Oil / Gas has used very high end system for over 30 years. You make it sound like this is something new. Far from it. PDMS, SP3D, PDS VERY HIGH END

    Hi Balkan, I just want to give you another tips about the linked files:
    If you check the linked file button (first of all the buttons down right) you will be unable to select linked files.

    If I import cad files to revit the wall thickness was more in that and in revit wall was soo small and it was not fitting
    How to make this in revit

      Prasad Kambli what about the layers?Is a door or a window turned into a group? Does it takes some preparation in the starting Revit file, e.g. hiding hatches, setting line thickness, etc...

    Sir, when I imported the dwg file using link CAD, the floor plan is perfectly placed but when I'm switching it to 3D view..it's not appearing the way it must be, it's kind of showing a stretched view. How to resolve it??

      kindly scale ur model and check the units both in revit and autocad so that they match perfectly.. if in autocad u use cm then in revit change unit to cm as well.

    lol, you could just split view and do the same from scratch without importing file or linking to Revit. What a lame tutorial, i thought there was a way to automatically convert 2d (with 3 view) into 3d.
