Hmmmm! If it was not a film I would say such a man probably had a simp father as a role model. If he didn't, then he was raised by a domineering single mother. So, he would simply be acting out as per his upbringing. The fact that this simp man is part of the movie script shows the writer's experience or perhaps he/she have knowledge of such a couple in real life and so decided to incorporate it in the story line.

Beautiful movie! So interesting and educational. In life we should never look down on anyone, except to admire their shoes. It’s very sad when some of us women,who doesn’t have anything else to offer a man besides the three acres between our legs forgets who we really are ,and starts to abuse other helpless women like ourselves in ways that are inhumane. Madison treatment of Edna was very painful to watch. The sad part is that Madison had nothing .
