Quick reminder:
Monstrous units strike at initiative with unwieldy weapons (check the unwieldy special rule).
So the sovereign would strike at initiative 7 on the charge, and initiative 6 in subsequent turns.

And gargantuan monstrous creatures (so the arch daemon) have eternal warrior so no multi wounds from murderous strike.
Edit: turns out eternal warrior is specifically on the arch daemon rather than on all gargantuans. It’s just all the gargantuans I’ve seen have happened to have it.
Suzerain shields specifically do not have the rule that prevents you from getting extra attacks, so the axes do, indeed, get 4 attacks.

A few mistakes are expected when using a whole new army with lost of new and weird rules. This game was absolutely amazing! I'm loving the daemons so far

The Sovereign Greatblade is unwieldy but the Daemon Sovereign has the Monstrous type so ignores Unwieldy property of the weapon I believe. So the Sovereign should have attacked at Initiative 6

In the duel with Guilleman, he could only ever do 1 wound with his sword as the arch daemon has eternal warrior :(
WOW! So I thought the Arch-Daemon had the same ‘Empyrean Avatar’ as the Sovereign. You’re right it has Eternal Warrior - that is pretty huge on such a powerful unit 😂 thanks for the heads up!

My headcannon has G-Man going all out defense all the time, parrying and evading, slowly getting wittled down.
In true epic fashion the archdaemon goes for an elaborate killing blow and gets that sword directly where it really hurts :D

Quick one on rage in the first turn. Dc did plus one for charging and 2 for rage. Rage replaces the plus one for charging and does not add to it. Great watch so far! Thanks for putting it up so quick
So rage(1) is the same as a normal charge? That doesn’t make a lot of sense right?

You’re right I follow that rule for Tony Gal Vorbak (3 base + rage 2) but I forgot with the Arch-Daemon 😅

@@SNBattleReports I think we need an independent dice roller, Shaggy can roll all the dice to even things up. If we added more candles maybe that coul swing the result the correct way or if all else fails summon Erebus
Great battle report as always. Love they added deamons be interesting to see how they do after turn 3 or 4 in a normal game.
Glad you enjoyed! Problem here is it wasn’t a really good showcase as we were ok each other turn one. When they play I’m a longer deployment like Hammer and Anvil they might not even get into combat until turn 3 😆
Fyi the monstrous subtype ignores unwieldy, so the daemon sovereign would be striking at its normal initiative. Might not have changed much, but it probably would have put some wounds on Guilliman before it died.

Zarakynel is the name of the Forgeworld Exalted Keeeper of Secrets - although I guess it doesn't really matter any more since she's out of print etc,etc :D
So do you think Daemons 'work' as a faction in HH? When the Pdf came out I thought 'yay' but then I turned out to be kinda disappointed with it in the way of: "wait, I've been waiting 3 years for this?" but I suppose it was always going to be a hard slog for it to match my expectations. I'm glad you played Slaanesh themed (I am a Slaanesh fanboy), but I kinda feel like the 'primordial' sort of nature of HH makes that the different flavours of Chaos to be largely redundant. You could make a unit mixed up between Bloodletters and Daemonette's for example because nothing actually matters.

Correct me if i'm wrong but rage 2 is not in addition to your +1 attack from the charge bonus, rage 2 replaces whatever your charge bonus is, so you would get 2 extra attacks on the charge not +1 from charging and +2 from rage.

Love the HH content! I will say though you can't charge out of a drop pod when it comes in its in the rules for disembarking from vehicles that you can't when they enter from reserve and also dreads are brutal 3. Great game
Yeah missed that drop pods don’t have assault and no idea why we were not doing brutal 3
How can the Hierach be attached to the Harriers? He is only character sub-type not Independent character. I assume there are quite a few things that need to be patched with the demon pdf 🙃
Also you cannot charge after leaving a drop pod as it is no assault vehicle.
But all in all a great battle report. You seemed to have a lot of fun

I hope the daemon rules means they will fit in as allies for the more canonically daemon-friendly legions like wordbearers…
Yeah
Sadly they can’t be taken as allies by anyone or have allies. Word Bearers can summon them, and if you take Lorgar for instance you can essentially take Daemons as non-compulsory units, essentially sharing their army list with the legion list. But mostly it’s varying flavors of summoning as far as using them with other armies.

It's not a 1:1 by any means, but it's the base sizes for 1st edition Horus Heresy Daemons. I use it as a guideline for the new daemons and their base sizes
Arbitorian has a great video about starting a HH demon army where he gives out base size recommendations for each unit. Probably a good place to start
Imho, Power Axes should be initative -1 and not unwieldy
