He later comes into contact with the eccentric Miss Havisham and her beautiful ward, Estella. Pip falls in love with Estella and dreams of becoming a gentleman to win her love. His desire for social advancement and the hope of winning Estella's heart become his "great expectations."
Financial Inheritance from an Unknown Benefactor:
Midway through the novel, Pip learns that he is the recipient of a substantial financial inheritance from an unknown benefactor. This unexpected wealth raises Pip's social status and allows him to pursue his aspirations of becoming a gentleman. 2. Romantic Love:
