Maybe I'm a minority, JoJo was pretty easy to get into.
yup same for me, it was classic and fresh in the same time and the quick pacing make it very fun to watch
Its hard for other people, because they just watching it for the memes and its popular, instead of really enjoying it.

I tried watching jojo because of how often I seen it mentioned across the internet. I got about 5 eps in before wondering why people liked it so much. Did a little research, realized it was about several different Jojo's throughout time which made me deeply curious about the series, realizing I was just getting basic building blocks for a grand story.
Dude that’s exactly what happened to me I was like ehhhhh about the story but I heard the overall story is what made it good and when I heard it’s like a different generation I was hooked

Exactly my experience. Start watching JoJo ironically for the memes, then genuinely get invested after part one. The realization that there's a new JoJo each part, then understanding stands, such a great experience.
Edit: And it's really different from other anime.
I actually loved Phantom Blood 😅 By no means is it my fav part, but the mix of really dark story and ridiculousness makes me love it. It's actually the reason I continued watching.
Exactly! The crazy overlyexaggerated drama just like Mexican telenovelas and the dark story makes it a gem, it made me hooked to Jojo since episode 1. And of course I can't forget to mention Speedwagon, the best waifu.

@@user-ki7ko6nw7l it wasn’t bad tho. It simply came out 20 years ago. Compare part 1 jojo to Litterally ANY anime of the same era and you’ll see how much more superior it was. If you compare part 1 jojo to modern day attack on titan, then maybe you won’t think it’s good.
Battle Tandency is also funny
@@brandoncruz1463 They look at how much better the other parts are and retroactively flunk Part 1 based on a curve rather than it's quality in a vacuum.
Honestly part 1 has always been one of my favorite parts. It literally sets the rest of the series and provides the path of watching Dio become what he is.
I've only seen Phantom Blood but I got into it episode 1 because I wanted to see Dio go down
Seeing Dio and Jonathan’s relationship throughout the part was really interesting, it was the main reason I enjoyed this part. And yeah, watching Dio progress from a power hungry kid to a crazed, vicious villain in part 3 was incredible
PART 1 best part 100%
I’m watching this now but anime is so difficult to watch. It’s a lot of shouting and characters being over the top with far too much dialogue and then nothing really happens. It was the same with Fist of North Star. Far too much talking and then when it came to action barely anything happens. Too much hype and then it ends. I wish I could get into it though, the concepts and visuals are stunning.
The moment Dio jumped off that stagecoach i was hooked. I knew it was going to be good.

I don't think that having multiple Jojos is a roadblock at all. Its pretty easy to understand that Jojo is about a bloodline of one family with the nickname Jojo, and their individual (sometimes overlapping) Bizzare Adventures.
THIS
also part one isn’t even bad?? like why does everyone hate on it
@@klinxium8627well for me it was alright, my friend has been trying to get me into the show but honestly it’s not really getting my attention.
Its what put me off. Liked season 1, was like 'who the hell is this?' In season 2. Never watched again
Your line's gonna be, "I was only pretending to be an idiot."
Seriously, though, I actually found Jojo's pretty easy to get into. Part 3 is so far my favorite.
While I definitely felt a bit of the we’re hitting a new baddie each week I enjoyed it, it was a way to explore stands that frankly was interesting. I feel that the stand battles definitely get better later on with duos and teaming but I feel it was good in a couple parts, Avdol and Joseph fighting the magnetism wielder, Centerfold and Hol Horse teaming. While I feel they could have developed the characters a bit better I don’t know if it was what I’d call bad. I think in some regards it could’ve been more realistic but I feel it somewhat was based on the characters. Generally static character development/progression is bad, but Jotaro was a strong guy from multiple perspectives who aside from his respectfulness in conversation and his willingness to trust others doesn’t really have a lot to change in my eyes. Joseph already changed, it’s just an adventure for him. Polnareff needs to change for the loss he’s endured not to consume him. Iggy does change. Avdol and Kakyoin were the weakest no doubt, but like kakyoin was merely going along with them out of gratitude, desire to serve DIO, and because unconsciously he was searching for friends. Avdol idk, he could’ve progressed more, but at the same time I feel like for him it was sort of like a journey to embark on more like Joseph. So while there were some things, I felt it was over all entertaining.
If you're just going to "get through" parts, you'll never be able to truely enjoy them.

I personally really enjoyed part 3 and felt like progress was made every episode and it was fun to see Jotaro open up more and Polnareff grow as a character, the fights were also really cool
I completely agree
Late but I also fully agree. I'm a part 3 enjoyer and it's total crap to say there's "no development" in part 3. Maybe it's long but I feel like that's done to better give a sense of how long and arduous their journey to DIO was. I never felt like it was a slog to get through, every fight was cool or interesting or at least entertaining. You could easily flip that same argument and make it for part 4- if you don't like slice of life maybe you'd think Part 4 is unnecessarily long and boring. After all, it's as long, if not an episode or two longer, than 3.
Every time my friend told me that Part 1 was bland and people didnt like it, baffled me. I love Phantom Blood. The drama between Dio and Johnathan sells it HARD. Love the drama between them and I love the buildup to the end of it. Probably my favorite 9 episodes of anime ever. Just baffles me people don't like it. I get it, people will have their own opinions on what is good, but the writing between Dio and JoJo is brilliant.

It’s very cool to see how different each part is, which is great to me and I love how much colors and engaging yelling and dark story than the other parts.
I love Phantom Blood and is actually one of my favorite parts in Jojo!

Remember everything you knew before ? No you don't, it's all about holy corpse parts and spin now !
Remember those two things ? No you don't, we have rokakaka fruits !
Yeah, that hurt. Like, remember when only Stands can hurt Stands, but Ciocolatta from Golden Wind cut up the Six Bullets with a regular scalpel? At least in Part 3 Joseph couldn't use Hamon on that tumor lady Stand 'cos it was made from his own flesh (gross), however this hypothetically means Hamon Users (who are Ripple Stand Users) can see and fight Stands with their own physical strength. Too bad we'll never see a classic Martial Artist beat down a Psychic Punching Ghost. The more I think about the wasted potential, the more I begin to hate JoJo, of which I'm on my second viewing of the complete series.
JoJo is just JoJo, not the best, not garbage. Even if you're burnt out on the show, you still think it's good, you come back to it every once in a while. It never changes, there's no order, no reason, no initial for a plot. It's just bizarre, and you understand why and how because you've gotten used to it. The jokes were never funny, but that just makes them funnier to repeat. People who've watched JoJo won't agree, but JoJo fans will.

@@pininbonanuk7753 yeah I never understood why people hate on part 1. It was fun and didn't take itself seriously, part 2 was peak early JoJo for me and took everything from part 1 but did it better. Part 3 is a filler slugfest and the stand battles of the week where honestly extremely boring, it was also hard to watch as I honestly think most of the stands where weaker then just beating the crap out of someone with Hamon and overall stands felt forced, and a massive plot hole on why Dio didn't use any of his vampire powers from part 1. Part 4 was peak stand era Jojo to me and overall perfect the stand abilities to make the fights more enjoyable and perfected the amount of filler stand fights. Part 5 goes back in quality by quite abit. Gorno seems like the only competent protagonist, the amount of mutilation and damage people take in this part without dying is insane yet they die to look physically less damaging and overall alot of plot holes just go keep the characters alive. Part 6 is probably overall the second best stand part. Haven't looked into part 7-8 yet

To be honest I loved Jojo since I watched the first episode, I never once thought it was bad
I think the best way to get into JoJo's is watching It to make someone happy. I started it because a friend of mine that was quite lonely and insecure recommended it to me a lot. At first I thougt it was quite boring but I kept on watching for him. And when I got to part 2 I started enjoying it so much. Then I started part 3 and I found It too long and missed hamon, but at this point I started dating that guy so I kept watching. Then, when I was in part 4 I broke up with him, not in bad terms but we didn't talk anymore (we only lasted 1 month we were 13 at that time xd). But at that point I was really into JoJo's and It became my favourite thing, I went through part 5 in 3 days. Then I rewatched it with my sister, and ejoyed part 1 a lot more than when I first watched it. My sister hated it at first but now she is a huge Jojofan. Recently a friend of mine started watching It because his cousin recomended It to him and at first he didn't like It but then he became obsesed and started spamming to the rest of the group to watch It, two twin siblings (male and female) started watching it, and I suspect that It is because the girl is kinda into him and the male sibling might be into me but I kinda doubt It, but I'm so happy because almost all my friend group is watching or has already watched JoJo's, and for a person that has been quite friendless all her life it's really cool to share your interests. That was a huge test but I wanted to say It, and sorry if I made some mistakes, english isn't my first language xddd
That was a cool story! Yeah, it's awesome to watch with friends and spam images and memes later. 😂

Like I understand there was no jotaro, no stands etc. But I was actually captivated by the story and the characters (my favorite being speedwagon). Even if it was really short and simplistic I really enjoyed it, because it set the beginning of a whole journey, that would take centuries, bringing back old characters that we all loved and overall creating an amazing story, that we all know and love.
As for the memes I understand, but you can’t imagine how much I laughed when I heard “roundabout” along with the “to be continued” arrow, in the end of each episode of phantom blood.

I have to disagree about Part 3 not having character development. Look at Jotaro for the prime example. At the beginning, he's calling his Mom a bitch and screaming at her. Half-way in when he's talking to his Grandmother Suzi over the phone, he's completely calm and has a different demeanor. It may seem subtle, but Jotaro mellows out over time. This comes to a head in Part 4, where he's just the badass mentor figure who typically keeps his cool a lot better.
I had a distaste towards Jotaro in Part 3, I much prefer him in Part 4 as a mentor tho.
Disagree. Jotaro's attitude at the start of part 3 was mostly circumstantial. He almost killed a bunch of people after acquiring an "evil spirit" and locked himself up in jail. He calmed down as soon as episode 2.
True,Jotaro is a whole lot mature in part 4
@@MNGN101 He's calling Holly a bitch in the episode that introduces Kakyoin, even after he got out of prison and knows what stands are, he didn't calm down THAT quickly. Then when he's in the plane and just shoves the two attendants?

My Netflix algorithm recommended Jojo to me, and I didn’t know anything about the show except “it was me, dio”. Watching it for the first time is an experience I will miss because I will never feel the wonder of being consistently surprised by the series again. Finding out the mask turned people into vampires blew me away. Then, the show moving on to Joseph also shook me, and having another species that eats vampires for breakfast was phenomenal. Imagine my surprise again when stands were introduced. There will never be anything like watching it for the first time.
I absolutely love Phantom Blood because it got me invested in the world because at the end of the day it was still a bizarre adventure and thats what I love most about jojo
Hold tf on I don't understand. My friend really wants me to watch One Piece, insisting it gets really good after the first like 100 episodes, and gets mad when I don't want to watch it, but when I tell him to watch like 10 episodes of the FIRST part of an anime he says it's too boring after the first episode.
Like come on guys it isn't that hard to watch it it can be finished in a day
Hmmmmmmmm... You should watch one piece tho it's really good and it gets good by episode 30 or so
@@ob1934 Yeah I have started watching it recently, it's pretty interesting so far
Nerd Swirl one piece has its special aesthetic that I personally liked when I got into it, right away you know you’re in for a wild, long ride with luffy, a character which I liked as soon as I saw.
On the other hand, Jojo’s part 1 was unbearable, I was forcing myself into laughter because things were so “absurd” even though they weren’t, just so I feel like im doing justice to this thing everyone likes. Finished pt1, hated it. Started pt 2 and was told pt 1 is better than 2, so I never continued
@@eresoup7229 Well that's bad I guess. If jojo doesn't catch your interest right away, it's not the anime for you, I mean this goes for tons of things but especially jojo. I can't get through it because it's so over rated. I really do suggest watching the rest of the parts, and even reading part 6-9( that is if you even finish the anime). It sounds strange calling basically every part before Steel Ball Run roadblocks... I think it's a bit unfair to the other parts.
This guy says this because he only watches for memes and treats the series like it should only be a meme then points out the "flaws" he finds because he doesnt want to watch to enjoy it
@Leath-bit I don't think it's nearly as fun as other parts. Yeah, from a technical perspective, it's really good, but it didn't connect with me nearly as much as some of the "less perfect parts". I think it's missing something fundamentally that the other parts had.
It's still really quite good, imo.
Part 3 is one of my favorites I dont get the hate jotaro was an awesome mc
@@childishumehara9890 SDC is good, yeah
Me who has already watched the whole series but still watching the video
Wasn't really hard for me to get into Jojo. It's just so charming and different from what we associate with shone (15 year old boy shoots lasers out of his hands) that it's easy to love. And when you add in the music from the anime, the very unique art style, Dio's evil bisexual antics, etc. what's not to love?
I avoided JoJo’s for so long because a friend of mine was pressuring and rushing me to watch it. It took me a couple years to get around to it entirely on my own. I was bored scrolling through Netflix one night and saw that they happened to have it. So, curious, I watched it. I actually thoroughly enjoyed Phantom Blood. Maybe I’m just easily entertained but I loved the art style and how dramatic it was. I loved Jonathan and how soft spoken and over all sweet he was. And then came part 2 which I fell in love with immediately. It took me a year to get through part three cause I stopped half way through but I recently just watched part 4 while in quarantine. All is to say I now adore JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and I can’t wait to get caught up. I hit a couple road blocks but it was worth it in the end.
Bro same
Wait, how did you get JoJo on Netflix?! Now I'm jealous

Part 6 is so incredibly underrated it's disgusting.
SPOILERS FOR PART 6
Yeah, people are calling it _garbage_ only because the ending. The ending was spoiled for me which is the only reason I know about it. It isn't even bad, I actually really like it. I haven't read much of it, but so far it's great.
Very true. It doesn't deserve the hate it gets either.
@@crab1227 people mostly hate the ending cause they dont get it to begin with. They simply speed read through part 6 in order to get to part 7 which is the most well regarded part but the truth is that the part 6 ending is magnificent and a perfect way to end the legacy which is part 1 to part 6 but the misconceptions surrounding part 6 are so bad that people even misconcept the villains goals sometimes cause they dont take their time to pay attention
Just curious, would you happen to know where I could read part 6 and other manga?
@@crakenthe812 you can find it if you simply search jojo part 6 colored manga online or go to MangaLife.us
Jojo was hard to get into for me, but only because I started with part 5 and I had no idea what was going on. I revisited it later on and watched part 4 because it looked fun. It dragged on for a little bit and I had a few questions, but it was really good overall and became my hook for the series. I finally decided to watch part 1 and go in chronological order. Part 1 was just up my alley! It was more story driven and enjoyed it thoroughly. It reminded me of a lot of 60s anime that my mom would used to show me as a kid (plot similarity and tropes). And although I've finished all five parts currently, none of them have ever beaten my love for the first part. I think it's perfect for what it is. It introduces conflicts and powers that are easier to understand before getting into the existence of stands while giving us a reason to attach ourselves to Jonathan's descendants after his time is up. It's a strong base for the series, in my opinion!
Nothing is quite like the moment when the credits to episode one of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure plays and you see that “to be continued” arrow
"You have to get through Part 1"
"You have to get through Part 2"
"You have to get through Part 3"
But... Part 1 to 3 are just as good as Part 4 and 5, if not even better... What are you even rushing for?
This. Part 1 and 2 are the best Parts in my opinion, the others closely following it.
I definitely see 1 and 2 as prologues since it’s a lot less detailed then the rest of the parts
Part 3 was too boring for me
Better
yeah, also part 4 is my favorite so far since it's one of those mystery ones where dio isn't there to WRYYYYYYYYYYYYY all day long
Why are ppl so reluctant to watch jojo. I've enjoyed every part that I've seen including part 1. Some ppl are thinking about it to much. I just relax and let jojo do it's thing.
MrAlex Asain EXACTLY BRO
It’s just different same as one piece which makes people disregard the show
I honestly think it may have something to do with how ”weird” it is. Any person who's not a fan of it and or hates it, they always say basically the same thing it's either ”it looks gay”, or something about that. Or how it's ”weird”, and ”OP”. But I think it's mostly cause everyone just thinks it's too weird or something like that.
I know people who are reluctant to watch Jojo because they just can't handle watching anything gory. In the other hand some other people are either put off by the art style, think the fandom is annoying, or think it's gay.
I cant get into one piece. But i liked JJBA pretty much right off the bat and I first watched about a month ago. The premise is cool and I was already a persona fan coming in, similar premise.
I always struggle to watch the first 2-3 episodes of jojo but after that it becomes fairly easy to watch.
I’ve always been interested in Jojo’s ever since I saw a Tohou animation with Dio doing road roller and played the Capcom arcade game, but the only anime that was out at the time was the 1993 OVA and it was difficult to get into. So the anime releasing in 2012 was a really good thing for me and I enjoyed every bit of it, part 2 was so good also.
Unpopular opinion: Phantom Blood is best because SpeedWagon is at his thicc prime
Really Giorno? I thought you would have like your part the most but hey SpeedWeed is best boy so I dont have any complaints

You thought it was Jonathan who made JoJo's hard to get into
BUT IT WAS ME, DIO
OHHH MAIII GAWDD so true
Literally
I relate, I tried to get into this anime and it was incredibly tough to get through the first season up until first JoJo blows himself up on a boat with Dio's head. I think it was entertaining, but still for some reason took me a lot of effort to actually get through it to that point, and then I haven't been able to gather the will to try the next season.
jjba was one of the few animes I gained interest in. I’m not that big of anime fan but someone showed me Jojo and I instantly fell in love with it. I can agree that part 1 and 2 is a bit hard to continue on, but all of a sudden part 1 became one of my favorite parts.
I am now reading part 8, feeling a bit burnt out since I just finished reading sbr
“Part one is generic action horror.” Did... did we watch the same part 1?
Thriller may be a better word for this, but I'm pretty sure it may have been considered a horror a few decades ago. It does TRY to call itself scary and pull some horror-reminiscent storytelling decisions, but that was my exact reaction.
Faith Mwaura I’m not disagreeing with the genre. I’m disagreeing with “generic”
@@khristian625 Oh! Yeah, I wouldn't call it generic, especially with how it utilizes those aspects of the genre, nevermind the actual storyline.
khristian625 part 1 was terrible I feel like on people who are new to anime are the jojo cultist
Imagine Jojo be generic, wtf.
Honestly i got into jojo for the memes, stayed for the story
Same I loved to see Dio but tbh part 3 and the other later parts are way more interesting and enjoyable to watch than part 1 and 2
when being a complete beginner, i would really suggest jumping to the part that ur actually interested in so you can find a gateway into the universe of jojo and you have a good impression of how positive or negative the series actually is to you. the first impression is everything,
watch what looks fun and interesting at first and go in order if you become interested in the universe
That's what I love about Jojo every season is very different and you fall in love with a new protagonist Everytime. You never know what to expect.
By far part 3 is the slowest part(not that I disliked the part it’s just repetitive)
It was such a slog for me. I gave up 3 episodes into part 4 because part 3 drained all my enthusiasm.

Shadow Fire have u seen part 8? Cuz ur so wrong
Honestly, phantom blood's relatively generic feel really helped me to get into the series. I don't know that I would've been able to stick with JoJo if I started when the show actually got weird without the foundation of the first part, but I guess that's not a widely accepted sentiment 🤷🏻♀️
I'm with you, Jonathan being a good person while Dio is a opposite contrast, while they both fight and develop characters was so good of an introduction
Just finished part 1 and I enjoyed it! Im not hooked yet and the style is a little weird, almost doesn’t feel like an anime but I’m getting used to it for sure! It always takes me awhile to get into a new anime series, once I get attached to the characters I get hooked. Excited for part 2!
Just started watching Jojo! Honestly, love phantom blood and I’m cruising through Diamond is Unbreakable currently! Can’t say I have a favorite part yet, but as soon as I’m on the next one I miss the prior! 😢
The hardest thing in my opinion is explaining to your friends what JoJo is about
Am I the only one that genuinely enjoys part 1? And who's favorite JoJo is Jonathan?
Jonathan isn't my favorite JoJo but I enjoyed part 1 a lot too
You aren’t alone
Not alone, I love it and miss the whole hamon concept.
Part 1 was good tbh
Jonathan isn’t my favorite JoJo. He’s like 3rd for me, but Phantom Blood is one of my FAVORITE parts!
I started at Part 3 I believe. The portion where Stands actually first start becoming a thing. At the point I already knew of the internet portion of it. I went back to watch the other 2 season before part 4 was coming out on Toonamai. Ngl I enjoyed the early season just because it showed backstory established in the season I started in. However I could see the issues that might turn me away from it. In fact I started watching part 4 and only made it about half way
One of my cousins recommended JoJos to me so I started it. Phantom Blood was ehhh, didn’t really like it. Stopped on episode 6, then he had told me to give it another go so i did. I got past part 1 and Battle tendency came and it really got me into JoJos. Joseph was a great protagonist and it’s probably one of my favorite parts if not my favorite
* Meanwhile I watched part 1 in 2 days and really enjoyed it *

Me 3.. I really like all the parts
JJ 96 Same,I really liked it (minus the middle part,it felt really slow) and I love all the other parts as well(that is,the anime parts; I haven’t read the manga). Are there really not that many people who also enjoy the whole series?
Sameee
I watched Phantom Blood in just 1 day, it's the only series I ever binged
I seriously dont get the hate for part 1. Jonathan is my favorite JoJo, and I can't wrap my head around people calling the season that introduces Speedwagon bad. The fights are just as interesting as any other anime and the use of Hamon is really interesting even if it's underdeveloped compared to part 2. The only real problem I have with it is the traditional Good vs Bad trope and how DIO is only evil because it's convenient for the plot. It's a solid 7.5/10 for me even though it is the weakest part of the anime.
Travis Kunkel i think DIO Is more sympathetic then most later villains honestly. His mother died young and his dad was terrible. Just the living conditions alone could turn anyone evil. I like Kira a lot more cause of characterization, but his evil acts come from such a repulsive place without any real tragedy.
Honestly, might be an unpopular opinion but Stroheim and Speedwagon almost gave me brain aneurysms in PB and BT. I feel like they couldn't have done a worse job at explaining a characters move/decision. I can't begin to understand why people appreciated the unnecessary over dramatic ear raping from the Speedwagon.
Warlich you just explained why people love him lol
Part1 and 2 are one season. "The season that introduced speedwagon" is a weird way to say it since it is also the season where he dies in.
The bit that hooked me in part 1 was chad Zeppeli walking into the torture room knowing it was his fate to die there and then the roundabout ending made it perfect
Recommendations of watching jjba:
-Skip part 4 and 5,only watch part 1-3 also don’t skip part 1 or else you will get confused of hamon.

Basically you just cannot start from part 1 before knowing other part, It just the Legacy Of the Bloodline which is why some people watch from middle and when they wanna know further they watch from part 1
I admit that Phantom Blood was not as interesting as future parts, but I still enjoyed the heck out of it.
>part 6 is a roadblock and not peak jojo
While I respectfully disagree, I do think presenting each part in a more unbiased perspective will not only do you, but each part more justice. Every part has their strength and weakness and writing certain parts off does a disservice to the audience as well. Loved the video though!
Jolyne Andes if you had the part 5 and part 6 characters switch places, people would love part 6 and hate part 5.
Super Saiyan Trump Well, that’s not true either. I liked everyone in part 6 except Hermes and Emporio, but I would still enjoy part 5 if the characters swapped because it’s an amazing story. The point of OP’s comment was to not disregard a part when describing it to someone simply because you didn’t like something (or somethings) about it.

I felt the total opposite of almost all of these points. I loved part 1 and part 3 is my favorite because of the monster of the week format. It brought so much attention to the stands

I wasn't hooked in Part 1, but I definitely enjoyed it for its bizarreness, though I could only tolerate two episodes a sitting. Same with the first half of Part 2. Then I took a break to watch the entire second campaign of Critical Role, and when I returned to JoJo's 10 months later, something just...clicked. Now I'm wrapping up Diamond Is Unbreakable and reading the Phantom Blood manga. I don't think getting into JoJo's is something you can rush; you have to let it slowly permeate your brain, lol.
