[Tutorial] Homemade DIY - How To Make Soldering Gun From transformers

  • Hello everyone, Today I will guide you to make a Soldering Gun From simple transformers
    - For transformers Soldering Gun homemade From this we will need
    - 1 The old transformer was taken from computer speakers, Acoustic speakers or DVD
    - 1 The 40cm long 7li copper wire, the wire 1 is about 1.5 meters long 0,1li to the secondary winding used glazed alarm LEDs
    - 1 tube made of PVC handles, 1 pc switch, 1 clip cord + plug
    Now let's see the video and perform, wish you success

    You should add a diode or a full bridge rectifier for the LED. You are running it from your mains, which from the cord looks to be 120VAC @ 60Hz. That means the LED is flashing at your mains frequency (50/60 Hz). Adding a diode will turn that into a solid positive and negative connection. This, there will be no oscillation and the LED won't flash. Hope this helps!

    put ani diode on the + of the LED and the light won't flicker, also the wire is just a part of the secondary winding that he took out,
    also isolate all of the secondary winding you made becaute with prelongued usage it will heat and melt the plastic and create a short

    Its a really. good idea and i really like your homemade soldering gun but remember that this way you are sorting out the transformer and it may result to a fire. I was messing with microwave transformer and I got from it 1.5v and 350A which resulted in fire.

      Shallow JR Yea i used a 16mm^2 which i dont know how much is in AMG but its the biggest cable i could get wrapped into the transformer and it was capable of giving me around 300A in sorting out contitions in about 5sec without burning itself.

      do not use microwave transformer they are to big get a smal one like this one with the microwave transormer you can build a spot welder so use a smal one

    I have a question about this awesome invention. Can the transformer be separate from the electrode tips via some thick gauge wiring? I am wondering because Id like to make this but a lightweight version, with the transformer sitting stationary nearby. You know what Im trying to say?

    She wired the primary winding to house power, I don't know if it matters what polarity it uses since it's a heat gun.
    the secondary winding is what you use for the heating element

    dude what gauge of wire is used in the secound winding for soldering can i use normal 4 gauge or 5 guage or something ,,,,does it need to be magnet wire or normal copper wire or something,
    by the way u have upgraded transformer right how many amps does the secoundary winding give ,,,
    if i need to increase voltage from secoundary can i use 18 awg magnet wire
