    Nice! I was a first responder and built my own. If you're new to first aid, get some classes and a good kit like this. The 3-hole doctrine goes like this: A firearm to make holes, body armor to prevent holes, and medical gear to plug holes! I love how ASP has *TWO* tourniquets in this, because sometimes two may be needed!

    You would make an excellent CLS instructor, it’s been a while since I carried a tourniquet with the blood tab hanging out. I appreciate all your reviews and case studies, I’ve definitely learned a lot from this channel.

    Last year I built my own kit and used the same bag. My idea was to have something that I would always have with me.
    Mine is clipped to my everyday backpack and is transferable to others when I head into the wilderness. I did add a folded SAM splint. It will fit, barely.

    Love it! I have Mountain Man’s non-ASP branded version of this, I like your little tweaks to it as well! I actually do keep it with me in my backpack and bring it to the range too, it’s always with me but I keep a few trauma tools on my person just in case. Used my kit to help an injured kid, useful for so much more than gunshot wounds, everyone should get a kit like this even if they have an IFAK already.

    I am happy to see you covering trauma gear and now having your own branded kit! My range belt has a full trauma kit on the back with a single TQ right up front. My backpack , which is always with me has a full blown trauma kit with 2 TQ's and a separate kit for boo boos. Blows my mind to see all the shooters at our local range with no medical options if an accident takes place. I cannot even count how many times the first aid kit has come out for new shooters that got slide bite......
    Love all the content John, be well!

    I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS! Excellent job by all!!!
    By keeping packaging, prepacking and material cost down, the contents are top of the line. The design is excellent 👍PLUS it supports charities 😊 🤸‍♂️🤼‍♀️
    Getting too open everything up and pack it yourself is a bonus. Who doesnt want too play with and pack their new kit with all the shiny things 😆 people would've unpack it all as soon as they got it because they want to see everything anyways 😊💯 ❤

    I have found it is nice to have foil blankets in a kit for people who have lost blood to help manage shock.

    The generic name of Neosporin is “triple antibiotic ointment.” Of course, we all know what you mean when you say antibiotic ointment.
    The wrap is Coban, or generically self-adherent wrap.

    This looks like a great trauma pack and has almost everything you could need for localized trauma. Only recommendation is get a couple rolls of transpore tape and real blood stoppers.

    I was just recently out camping in experience preferred call entire left arm. I’d highly recommend adding large non stick pads to that kit. Or the bandage you put on that burn gonna be an absolute biotch to change. Cheap and at any pharmacy.

    We're just below freezing in Kansas City, Missouri today and I'm curious if your first aid kit is okay being left in the car for the whole winter? Obviously bandages are fine, I'm concerned about medicines?

    Looks like a great kit ! Only thing I would change, is take out a roll of gauze and add a CPR mask. To me, the extra gauze is less useful for saving a life than something to assist with CPR if needed.

    • @ASPextra
      @ASPextra  Před 2 lety +2

      Modern CPR is all compression, no breathing. So no mask needed.

    • @1001DLW
      @1001DLW Před 2 lety +1

      @@ASPextra Lay person CPR is hands only. An actual CPR class will teach compressions and breaths for adults, children and infants. Plus learning to address choking.
      To me, if you trained to use the equipment in this FAK, then a CPR class would be a good adjunct. The more training you have, the better the chance for a positive outcome and the more situations you can address.
      Of course, the people who took the time to get CPR certification will also take the time to add a mask to the kit if they want and decide what they can replace.
      And again, really nice kit!

    • @ASPextra
      @ASPextra  Před 2 lety

      No, breaths are not used by any professional I know riding a truck right now.
