In this video we discuss the possibility of Lauri Markkanen being traded away having increased as time has gone on. Previously it appeared as though Lauri Markkanen getting traded was going to be a far-fetched situation, but as time has gone on and free agency has gotten underway the talks have gotten heavier and the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors have emerged as front runners in the Lauri Markkanen sweepstakes. Being able to pair him alongside Chris Paul and Victor Wembanyama would do wonders for the spurs fan base as well as their ability to potentially build a championship caliber team in the short term. Only time will tell, and if one thing is seeming more certain, it is that Lauri Markkanen will not be a member of the Utah jazz at the end of the off-season.

Im happy if Lauri goes to spurs, it would be awesome. Also i do agree everything what you said abt pick and roll. Lauri will get so open 3pt shots, he got those very few in jazz. And in defence, spurs will be better too with Lauri. I honestly think spurs will be real contender this season if this trade happening. Ofc it depends overall health situation in playoffs and possible other moves etc. Its never one thing what decide who will win.
I also like Steph Curry but Draymondo is fkn psycho and thats why i have hard time cheer for them. Steph Curry may be my 3rd favorite player after Lauri and Kelly O. Anyway if Lauri goes GSW they dont win chip. Steph is one of greatest all time, but he start to be late in his career. Its amazing what he did last season, he was as good he ever was. Some point he start to slow down. I would be suprised if he dont get hurt this year. Thats how big his workload was and will be. But if he stays healthy, who knows how well it goes. It just hard to imagine that GSW win against nuggets, okc, wolves or spurs in 7 game series.
Ofc sad part is that Lauri need to move his family to other city. Im sure he didnt want to do that. But at least he get in team what actually try to win games. This jazz tank last way too long for him. This is only right decision from jazz.
I have watched Eubanks some. He is not needle mover, thats true. He is a fighter, but lack in skill department. He is useful player but i also agree that i have no idea why jazz get him. Im sure you gonna like Eubanks, he is good defender and always try his best. If i would be coach, i dont mind have someone like him in the team.
I'm sure in the coming weeks we will have the answers to a lot of the questions I have in my head.

I think Danny might have missed his opportunity during the season to make a trade, as the recent trade proposal haven't exactly thrilled me. The OKC proposal of Dort, Cason Wallace and 2 #1s was pretty good, but I think I'd want more.

Jazz will be much better off to get a high 2025 draft pick by trading LMarkennan. Spurs are not going to get. a lottery pick with VWemby now so they have an interest in the long run for LMarkennan.

I didn't initially like the idea of Lauri going to Spurs. Them getting CP3 relatively cheap, makes it a better proposition though.
Lauri and CP3 both being injury prone, they're not gonna share too much of gametime, but probably would be enough to get Spurs to play-in spots with Grizzlies and Pelicans probably still above Spurs and Rockets still able to make a blockbuster move.
For Jazz, we probably all knew that Ainge was just blowing hot air when talking about making a blockbuster move. Better to just tank hard now, see if Cody Williams and/ or Filipowski can become decent NBA level players and enter the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes.
Trading Yurt away kinda makes sense as move open spots for Cody and Kyle.
I still think Lauri stays. But we'll find out soon.

It will be sad to see Lauri go, but I'll be rooting for him wherever he ends up at. I'd prefer he go to OKC or San Antonio because it will be better for him and the Jazz - as I expect to see them get quite a haul for him. By the way Wraith, it sounds like the Jazz are planning to move Walker Kessler too. I guess Jazz fans will be wearing brown paper sacks over their heads this season. 😲😞😳

@@wraithhoops With Dunn gone, the likelihood is good that Collin Sexton stays. As I see it, there are four Jazz players on the trade market: Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson, Walker Kessler and John Collins. With our luck, the Jazz will trade all of them except for Collins. 😏 Unless some of the new players turn out to be better than advertised, it could be a long, agonizing season for Jazz fans. FYI, the lowest number of wins for a Utah Jazz team is 24. We might break that record this coming season.

His motor, he gives 110% every minute he plays. He's afraid of nobody, he is so reliable protecting the rim and scoring under the hoop, he has touch, and power to slam the ball, also, he's an under rated passer, he can give the ball to the open man specially in the 3 point area while he attracts people in the paint. And his contract, very cheap for what he gives you. Not a starter, but at that price, I sure want him coming from the bench or making the day difficult for big 5s.
Eubanks over Yurtseven is also an odd choice because Hardy seems to prefer offensively skilled and versatile bigs. Yurtseven has some of that. Eubanks does not.
I’d love to keep Lauri, but I also think it is essential to get a top-5 pick this year. It feels like Lauri is too good and it would be hard for Hardy not to achieve just enough to get us another pick 8-11 (which we’d lose to OKC…).

We had a small window of time to trade for a star and get another in free agency before that money gets used to sign lauri in august. The ship has sailed jazz fans. We will 100 percent see a trade with lauri. Two top ten picks in next years draft would be perfect for us. Outside of that I don’t care what else we get.
If we miss out on the top 5 with high odds next year I'm going to flip my s*** not going to lie to ya!

I think you may be looking at it wrong… Jazz are not trading Lauri. However, if a team were to meet what’s most likely an unrealistic asking price. Then they would. Thats all really.

But the brass of Utah want to go for the FLAGG so they know that their best chance of doing that is via trading Lauri to the Spurs! It’s one or the other.
they want all the picks they got ithink, they will ask like 3-6 picks 3picks if spurs include the 2025 atl pick 6 picks if not included but they will surely covet that 2025 picks because thats agood pick when they want to go all in tank for next year top pick.
I hope he stays but I don't like the possibility of a mystery asking price potentially getting met by a desperate team's front office and then Zanik and Ainge decide to actually go through with it. I think we can have Lauri stay and still tank. Just play him like the Spurs played Wemby last year. For 28ish minutes per game and watch the rookies fold the rest of the game lol.

I think that if Markkanen gets moved it will be to the Warriors. Just because the Warriors are likely to be the most aggressive of anyone interested. They lost CP3 and Klay and their salary situation leaves little to no option in free agency. Steph is 37. If they don't make a substantial trade to attempt to get better the only option becomes moving on from Steph/Draymond into a full rebuild. And that's a hard sell to fans. I don't think any of these other teams who have been mentioned will be as motivated. OKC is already loaded and has to feel comfortable about next year. And they have all the time in world for a move like this later if necessary. San Antonio has time too. Minnesota doesn't have the assets. You can go down the list.

They don't have to overpay for someone right now. The Warriors WILL be motivated to act. Because Steph is 37 and they're running out of time. That's the difference.
I actually don't hate this take. It makes a lot of sense to me, it just comes down to who the players involved o the GS side are to be honest. The picks could be lucrative in about 3 years or so because Steph doesn't have much time left but something about SA makes me want to believe in them. The nail on the head that might force the deal is the fact that they fumbled PG and completely lost Klay as a result, then also waived CP3. I think there has to be a genuine level of concern with alarm bells sounding off in the front office soon if not already.
