Would love to try this out !!!
It's also similar to Yamaha QY range. I have first of them - QY-10 released in 1990. It's interesting unit - it has 30 built-in pcm sounds (from pianos to synths-like), drums set and capability to sequence external gear. It's very limited yet very powerful at the same time.
Sounds so fun! I love those old bits of gear
It's definitely something I'm going to check out in person. 🔎
Instantly pre ordered this. First piece of gear I ever pre ordered. Like others, I’ve wished a company would basically copy te and sell it for what it’s actually worth. I thought this was going to be liek $600-700. Instantly bought it when I saw $399. Yamaha is a great brand for everything basically.
I’ve heard they have a pretty strong rep with their releases. I’m really tempted by this one too. Looks like a lot of fun 👍
Well, it's already 600 bucks. Did they change the prices like that in 2 days? Crazy
It’s nice but I’m still happy with my 404 MKII.
Stem separation is nothing new . Koala have it long time already. MPC building nice system ive got to admit. But if someone is Sp head nothing really matters :)
@@defcreator187akai hardware is buggy
@@defcreator187 well im pretty sure it could have some ;)
The MK2 is one hell of a good device 💪
I still pair my SP with a proper sequencer, I get turned off immediately converting 1 shots into a sequence on the SP. Then having to pattern it. Then delete the one shots to free up the 6 other pads.
The Seqtrak from Yamaha looks great and there also seems to be quite a bit of power under it’s surface too!
One can only imagine what Yamaha will introduce and add further down the line to this device?
Must also say that the software (compatible with both apple and android) looks great too and really helps bring the device to life.
So much bang for the buck in which I think is absolutely superb value for money what you are getting in return!
There is definitely a rise in these affordable, feature rich devices! Its awesome for us consumers!
Sounds interesting - aside from two things:
1) The wireless connectivity is Apple only and doesn't work on Windows PCs.
2) They seem to be pushing the associated app REALLY hard .It's not just a patch/sample librarian (a la Novation Components) but seems to be some sort of sequencer/DAW.
The box is standalone but the app seems to help with sample managing and sequencing tho everything is really happening in the box, so the app is not necesary just a bonus
it's also android compatible.
The app keeps crashing when in visualiser mode
Nice T-shirt...my hometown...lol
😊🙌
I might be getting my hands on one of these and if I do - you just know i'm going to be doing an OP-Z comparison video lol
I'll be watching that - my Yamaha arrives tomorrow, and I've owned three OP-Zs. Hoping the Seqtrak is more reliable (although I will miss the portability of the amazing Z)
If you do, I’d really like to see if it can handle chopping samples
It doesn't chop (yet)@@nostradukemas - but haas audio over usb, so I was wondering if it could be used with an app like koala to chop. Lots of possibilities.
Liam , please hook it up to Digitakt👏. I think those 2 will be gratet combo .
I would love your take on it i have it on pre-order.
The OP looks like the QY which was the original version of these units, the sampling is new, but other than that, Yamaha nailed this 25 years ago!
The old Yamaha samplers etc look super fun. I'd love to pick a few up at some point
was an instabuy for me with the feature set i passed on the KO-133 but this was too good ! i went with the black ver problem with the KO-133 and opz are build quality the first po 33 is fine idk what happened to them after that
Awesome man, hope you enjoy it! 🙌
I’ve ordered, should be here by the 24th of Jan.🤞 (I went black, as it looks less toy like to me). I’m going to try it and if it’s good my K.O II will be getting sold. The K.O just can’t compare to the 404 mkii with the limitations, bugs and shoddy faders (luckily mine works) and although the Seqtrak will be limited in terms of sampling options (maybe firmware will update this), I think with the synths etc it would be a great companion for the 404 mkii. Even if TE update the firmware on the K.O, it’s still going to have tiny storage, a crap app and I honestly can’t be bothered with waiting for the firmware if it comes at all. The K.O II is just another sampler but far too limited to be any use to me when I own an MPC too. This also looks better made and the companion app is great as I could use my iPad. Who knows though, they all have flaws so we’ll see which bit of kit survives!! 😂 I really wanted to love the K.O II and I know lots of people are happy with it but as a sampler it’s pretty weak. One good thing is how great it makes the 404 mkii seem after using it! 😂 Anyway I’d be interested to hear your take on this if you get your hands on one! 👍
I agree completely with your comparison of the Ko to the sp 404. I was initially dazzled by the design and the hype but i am now waiting for a refund from Thoman as the speaker stopped working after an hour and ghost notes kept appearing.
@@oscillated139 yeah not at all good quality. It’s a shame as I think it could have been great but they dropped the ball. I love how some people have justified it by saying it’s cheap… yes cheap for a TE product but for £300 I expect it to at least work! 😂
It shows a real lack of respect for the customer @@nervouscooks
And naivety on my part
@@oscillated139 I think they got a lot of us to be fair. I’ll definitely tread more carefully next time!
I'm interested to see what the sampling capabilities are. The synth engines are already attractive
Agreed - thats a big things for me and I'm sure its the same for a lot of people that watch this channel too.
Having bought one the sampling is very basic
@@oscillated139 is there sample chopping and effects per chop? Say like reverse individual chops?
No chopping@@DylanRotich
@@oscillated139 aww boo. I’m think it would still probably be a nice companion to my Circuit Rhythm which does have some chopping capabilities
I got one yesterday dude, it’s pretty sick !!
Dope bro, very tempted to get one!
they're a fair price which will gain alot of interest @@spvidz
The “goth” part of my mind wants the Black & Grey version really badly but I’d settle for orange grey if I had to.
The black does look really nice!
looks like a cigarette😂
I ordered it in the USA for $399
Perfect for me - I create music videos - 90 seconds on Facebook Reels
I played with it for a while in Andertons (UK)… I was going to buy it, but I really didn’t get on with it… wasn’t worth the $$$ imo.
Gotta do what’s best for you 👍
