Hard to WANT to be alone again. I’ve been alone for years; doesn’t matter whether I love myself or not. Being alone gets old. I’m starting to feel like only some of us deserve love and the rest of us don’t, and I cannot believe that those who have love are completely healed and have it all together and those of us who do without are the only ones who have issues that need to be healed! Really?!
This reading helped me to remember how things used to be. When we first started together they didn’t want to get married because of my student loans. And of course blinded by love, I felt guilty about having student debt (I was naive). Now our financial situations have reversed, and our partnership is now primarily secular and practical, but I would feel tremendously guilty for leaving them without more financial support because they are my friend.
I forgot that my loans were the sticking point back then. I am grateful we never married.
