By grinding away the husk and exposing their inner works of art, we get to be the first ones EVER to see what in the world is going on inside these agate gem stones! Big thanks to Rockhound79 for sending these over to play with, I have many of my own we will be doing the same to in the future!

The second one looks like an alien planet.
loved this video, I think this is the perfect balance between keeping the agates intact as much as possible and revealing some of the banding without cutting them and structurally changing them forever
Yesss!!
I'm new to lapidary so this is good to know. Thank you.
Thanks for demonstrating your husk-grinding approach. Beautiful effects! I liked the dark blue the best.
My oh my, I have a bucket full of nodules that I'm going to be grinding after seeing that last on!
Those agates are so cool! Thanks for bringing us along to show from beginning to the end, with the grinding and polishing!
Wow what a wonderful process from start to finish those agate nodules all took a nice polish and I have to say that last one was a stunner!
Nice finds.
I just wanna grind all the rocks to look inside.
It's fun to become in aw of what you see in a rock! Love the mountain ... thank you
Hi friend Beautiful agates 👍👍👍👌👌nice process
Hmmm 🤔...
We always just ground the banded side and sold them for jewelry because they turned out amazing 🤩.
The second one you showed after the final polish, looks like the night sky on a clear night. Absolutely beautiful!
Always fun to find hidden treasures under the surface. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing results that last Agate, Spectacular🤩. Enjoyed your video!
Wow, what a cool idea Taylor, never thought to grind off the husk. Love the shapes, banding, patterns, eyes and colors. Cool video man! Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to try this myself, just need to find some LS agates first!
Yeah I thought it would be fun and different than cutting them!
@@AgateDad Yes, definitely was.
The last one for sure gets my vote.
This was a really cool idea!! Now we have one more option on cutting and polishing …just to make it that much harder lmao!!
Wow! Wow! Wow!
They all are cool. That last one is fantastic. And I like the one with the mountain in it. Great job Taylor!
That one is soo cool!
Loved this video! I'm new to rock hounding and learning how to properly identify rocks as I find them. Watching you videos has given me so great tips! Thank you!
So glad to be able to help!
Thank you for posting. I have a little flat lap and lots of geodes and agets but no saw your video has helped me heaps now i have another way I can explore some stones that I was not sure if to tummble or slab. Great way to hone in on lapadairy skills too. Thanks heaps 🤗
Beautiful!!!🎉
Wow! That last one! Amazing!
Oh wow 🤩 gorgeous agates!
I love them all Taylor, they r so so pretty xx gr8 vid xx
Great video! My fav was the “mountain”. It was like looking at a painting.
That last one blew my mind just kept getting better and better I love that you didn’t cut them and kept them their natural shape love what your doing man never stop
That last one was just amazing and my favorite.
Nice idea and awesome job on them! My favorite was the same one as yours! Stunning! 😊
That last one 💪
I liked the blue one , and the last one :)
Wow! Beautiful 🤩 the last one you showed is my favorite 🤩
Love the last one
My fav. was the last one, Wow! Beautiful and so cool 😊❤️
This is a fun one. More of this kind, please. Like to see what is hiding underneath all that
Beautiful 🤩
Nice video!! Thanks for sharing!!
I love this video because it is amazing the way grinding exposes beautiful details & the stones look so shiney.
Oh and the last one was my favorite too.
I love your vids!!! Thank you for these beautiful earth treasures ❤❤❤
I liked the blue one and the last one too
They're beautiful. Especially the last one
Totally cool! Filled with surprises
So fun ginding those husks off!
That was crazy. Never would have guessed they could be transformed into such beautiful pieces by taking off some of that outer layer!
Love the lace.
It's hard to pick just one favorite because they are all beautiful
Those agates turned out great!
That last one had some great detail, very nice!
The eyes were making me think of some kind of jelly fish - the red/browns are like caramel - these are gorgeous!
your fav was pretty amazing, but the Blue... totally my fav!!
They all turned out sooooo Great! The last one is definitely my favorite but the Blue was a total surprise too🍀💙🍀💙🍀💙
Blue was a huge surprise!!!
Thank you, I felt that 😄
I love them all! And I'm always so inspired watching what you do with them ❤️
☺️🤘🤘
I love these.! 👍👍
Great video,, I think I liked the last two the best but they all were great!!
The last one looked the best.
Although I truly love that blue one but I have to agree with you on the magnificent detailing that came out on your favorite...
Such an awesome reward to your hobby...a wonderful talent my friend...😊
Like your passion!
The last one is my favorite. They all have their own beauty like the eyes. Keep up the great videos.
🙏🤘🤘
I like the next to the last one. They are so shiny! I have used a tumbler or 3 since I became interested about 4 years ago.Stopped for a couple years and am now back at it. I am using some different approaches, trying to use the same consistency in each barrel. Staying away from ordinary granite.
Hi 👋 👋 👋 👋 Agate Dad I like them all but like you said the last stone was the best for sure some of the patterns reminded me of the planet Juniper. So thanks again for all the great work and keep on rocking for sure.
Oh definitely
They are all amazing! !! But your favorite is my 2nd fav. My 1st fav is the blue one😆 I don't see that many blue Lake Superior Agates and the eyes that just appeared as you polished??? And I loved the deep look into the stone! Just beautiful 💜 gotta love Mother Nature✌💜
This video is so cool!
Last one beautiful
Glad to see you use the flat lap. It has been a while and I thought you found something better to us, like you cab machine. I bought a flat lap and then you stopped using it on your videos. Thank you for bringing another idea for use of the flat lap!
Lin H.
The last one was my favorite too.
What a great video and such a unique way to polish your agates! I always enjoy a good cutting and polishing video but I’m really glad you didn’t cut those nodules. You made them look absolutely amazing! Nice job!! 👍
Love that blue one with all the eyes. Such a unique color!
Right?!
I agree with you, liked the last one you showed best.
🤘🤘
I do this too , you cut and shape enough agate the experience will guide you. I love the channel, I’m gravel bar hoppers older brother. Joey nice talking here. Another 👍🏼
Right on🙌
Ohhh THANK you for this!! I don’t know how many times I will show people an agate nodule and they are 100% convinced that I don’t have an agate. Could you perhaps someday do a video that is just about nodules? What they are and why they most certainly ARE agates
The last one was amazing of course, but I also liked the blue one. They are all pretty!
🤘🤘
Memorizing taking down layer by layer so awesome.
It’s so fun!
Oh wow, I’m hooked!!! I need a machine like this!! First time I’m watching a video like this. I recently got some Rose quartz, Smokey, some kind of pinky/stone in Ghana west Africa, when walking around!! I absolutely love crystals!! Great video
Fun stuff. Kind of like opening a present.
Oh yeah!
I liked the second the best because it you could see so far into it.
Dude I just love how around you got them. 😅❤️🌍 So cool. I'm trying to get this quartz that's all like purple and almost see-through I'm trying to get it completely round it's almost. Love it lol
Very good idea thank you
The dark one and your favorite are really nice. Interesting how some start out as potatoes and turn incredible where others still end up as potatoes after all the work.
The blue one is very cool.
The Monochromatics polish well, but don't reveal details like other agates do. In fact I'm fairly partial to them; painted and jelly. I like how the Jellys look like they have puddles in them; like a drop of water was frozen in time. The Blue is my favorite. I mean that agate is Pacific Blue. I wonder if it's going to turn "milky"? The specks on the mountain agate might be Native Copper. Put your flashlight on it at different angles. Really cool. I haven't been watching Agate vids lately because of Cabin Fever. I'm so ready for the thaw. I believe our Snowpack is going to make for a great start this year. Good job.
Nice work. I liked the wrap around polish red one with fine banding.
Such nice bands on that one!
Мне очень нравится смотреть на то , что у вас получается. Красота!🌸
That was a fun video. When you started I was like slice them all. I’m glad I was wrong, that last one is a stunner. Right on 😎😎😎
I was going to cut them but decided to do this instead, also very glad I did!
Holy crap man!! That was fun..
Some very pretty stuff 😃
🤘🤘glad you enjoyed!
Sweet video! Me and my partner are going to be coming up around Duluth and two harbors the weekend of March 12th, it would be great to get some insight on spots to look for cool rocks like agates and possibly thompsonite!
¡¡ ¡Preciosas !! !
Nice Job!
Thanks!
Weiner when it comes to getting to the inside. Do more and you'll see more beauty. Congrats on the crazy lace.
Parabéns meu amigo ficou muito linda mesmo like
Well Merry Christmas!! That's all I can think of, opening presents!
😅
@@AgateDad 😀
Eyes....I love em.
I have one the size of a golf ball that is covered in eyes........probably 500 plus.
Amazing!
Wow, thanks for sharing! This is what i call eye-candy! My fave is the last one of course, but the color of that deep blue one is spectacular! I would love to show you a picture of my eye agate. I wish i could post it on here. It was such a serendipitous find too and it is has a life-size eye on it. It is so cool; I call it my alien eyeball lol!
I only have a rotary tool to polish, but I wish I had a lapidary set like yours, that thing is so awesome! Hopefully someday!
What method are you going to use to finish polishing the rest of the stones?
Always on that grind lol
🤘🤘
As I'm watching you work...I'm looking through my beach found rock display and realizing...I do find agates in Massachusetts...I have some right here on my table. 🤦♀️
I’d polish the flat bottoms a bit just to see what’s there….but it might be a pain…I’m just curious. Fun to watch you work…thanks.
Fun demonstration! The last was my favorite also. It seems as though the little surface holes/tubes you sanded over, weren’t filled in all the way. So where you sanded down to where the tubes’ insides were level with the surface, bands appeared around the tubes. So were the bands formed inside the tube shaped voids?
At 13:40 put your flashlight on those little specks. Usually they are Hematite/Salmon flakes, but I have a few from 2 creeks close to each other, and those specks after VERY close examination are Copper.
I think you should grind all of the last on because it looks like it will turn out to be amazing. Great video
I like that back window 🥰
Thanks for the video. I have a flat Lapidary just like the one in the video. I got it when my dad passed, and I would love to do some grinding on it. I just need someone to tell me what the deference's of the grinding plate are.
The equipment is pretty loud, but I love the video.
