  • This is just a brief review of the Magped pedals I recently got. Hope you find it useful in making the decision whether or not to pull the trigger and buy a set...or perhaps you had never heard of these and now are aware there's a happy medium between flats and clip ins. Either way, if you have any questions, just drop me a comment and I'll do my best to help.

Great review. I have been interested in Magped for my MTB. Looking forward to a long term review before I purchase.

I’m a diehard SPD guy because I like XC Mountain Biking and as matter of fact I have SPD pedals on my Road Bike because I can walk around better when I get off the bike. But for me I could see these Magped pedals being great for a designated bomber downhill Mountain Bike. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! It's hard and scary getting used to these...I fell in the bushes 4 times today because I couldn't remove my foot in time and it kinda spooked me for the rest of the ride. 😬

Are you still liking and using these pedals? I’m between these Magpeds and the Hustle Bike Labs magnetic pedals coming out this year. I don’t know if I can wait 😐 Thanks

Yes, I use them all the time and I prefer them now. But when it comes to extremely chunky or double black trails, I still use the pedals but I swap my shoes out to ones that have no magnets. Too risky that I can't dab thru a hairy section or get my foot off in time. But I use them for everything else. I really love them.

Regardless of which ones u go with, just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve. Don't take on a crazy trail, hit stuff u know really well first and get used to them and gradually work towards the gnarlier stuff. I have found if u use all the pins they give u on the pedals, they work really well if u use ur regular shoes. So u don't have to swap pedals if u don't want to use the magnets.

great review. Did you go for the 150 or 200nM magnets?

I'm a small person so I'm using the 150N as recommended and my husband, who.is larger, is using the 200N.
